I know I'm insecure and yet
My thoughts run wild.
I know she wouldn't cheat
But my thoughts say otherwise.
Her family wants her with her ex
But she wants me more than him.
My thoughts say she's cheating
But I know she's not.
Why am I like this?
Why do my insecurities
Make me feel anxious so bad?

Hi! I really like your poem! I love how simple and to the point it is. Also I like how you've mentioned that you feel insecure because you feel that she might cheat, even though you've said that she 'wants' you 'more than him', it gives way to an underlying point that there might be more to insecurities. That the insecurities run deeper than they seem to.
I also like the fact that you say 'I know she wouldn't cheat' but then later on it turns to doubt 'My thoughts say she's cheating'. And then there's the self reassurance 'But I know she's not'. Trying to tell yourself that maybe you're over thinking, that it's just 'insecurities'. My absolutely favourite part of the poem was how the 'insecurity' in the start changes to multiple 'insecurities' It has a certain rawness to it, it reflects the actual thought process, in that moment the way you question yourself then reassure yourself. How one tiny brick of insecurity builds up into a giant wall of self-doubt. That fact makes the poem beautiful.
When I wrote this I had a bad feeling like she was cheating but I found out it was worse cause I got dumped and not by her own free will but she dumped me cause her family made her dump me
That makes it sadder. Hopefully there's something better in store for you!
I hate this world slouch cause I found out it was her ex that made her dump me not her father
People can be selfish and cruel sometimes. It can be very hard to hold on during theses times but always hope for the best. I like to believe that there's always a bright side. It could be a tiny ray of happiness but it's there and those tiny rays of happiness make life worth while. If it weren't for tragedies how would we be able to feel the happiness flutter inside our hearts? I think the good and the bad both make this world beautiful. Look at me blabbering on and and on xD but her ex is probably a douche bag, I personally don't know your ex but it's spinelessness to leave the person you love just because someone else is telling you to do so. I really hope you find happiness in life!
Very true and honestly she hates her ex she's only with him cause her family makes her be with him cause of the baby between them
The circumstances have pushed you guys in a tough spot. I hope whatever happens is best for both of you.
Hello, here's a review from the Manager of Realms himself.
To start, the poem is very nice, short and to the point. I like the message behind it, but I wonder if more could be told. The formatting is good, but the flow needs to be more controlled. Some of the lines work, whereas others kind of fail due too much being crammed into the one line. To fix this, you could either lengthen each line or use some different word choices. Line five feels a bit forced to me, but if it fits the flow you have in mind, go ahead! I do wonder whether this was inspired by personal events and if so, I like how you put your stories into words. Now, the final line feels a bit chunky as well, and the word choice could probably be revised. Overall it's not a bad poem, but if you add more to it, such as more lines, or longer lines, it could make this poem something that invokes emotion fitting the poem.
I kinda wrote this feeling like something bad was gonna happen and the bad thing was I got dumped but that's in my next poem for you all to read so plz check it out if you want
So line five is a lil discriber for you so you get what's going on in the relationship at the time but now I'm single so yea.
Hello! herbgirl here for a review!
To start this review, I'd like to say that the flow at the beginning of this poem was very nice. It kind of pulled me in, despite the simplicity of your words.
Now, while I liked this flow, it was soon broken in the eighth line, due to the small amount of syllables therein. The next line, also, has a minimal amount of syllables, continuing to disrupt the flow. Try filling out these lines with figurative language, or just adjectives to give the lines more syllables.
The last line also needs a bit of adjustment. "Make me feel anxious so bad" sounds a little chunky, and the way the lines are split can make it confusing. I suggest changing it to something similar but clearer, maybe "Make me so terribly anxious".
Now, those are my simple little suggestions. If you like you poem the way it is, I think those adjustments would be a simple way to improve it. However, I do have some bigger suggestions that if you wouldn't like to incorporate here might improve future poems. My main suggestion is this: incorporate more figurative language. The way this poem is now, it is very threadbare. You lay out the plain facts of the situation, but don't make it very pretty. By adding figurative language you can allow your poems to care a deeper, more personal message to your audience. Compare your emotions to something everyone has felt or seen, perhaps something in nature.
Anyways, sorry if that review seemed a little harsh. Just try adjusting the flow for now, and I think you'll be fine.
Thanks for the read, and good luck,
herbgirl
