It All Falls Down

Said you'd always be there for me
Said you'd always have my back
Said you'd always understand

All those lies you said

Laughed our troubles away
Laughed in the face of pain
Laughed at the terrible world

Laughed at my belief in you

Smiled like it was fine
Smiled when it wasn't
Smiled just for me

At my grief you smiled

Were you real?
Were you ever even there
When I needed you most?

Or was it just
The perfect disguise you put on
In order to shatter me completely

Build it up,
Secure it with fences
And trust

And then watch as
It all falls
Down

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
