Paper Window View

Bethany sat at that paper window

tantalized by the empty view.

Ever the same, yet open to change,

that's just what papers do.

-

Bethany sat at that paper window,

wondering what to do.

Blank, an empty bank

of so much excess room.

-

Bethany faced that paper window,

thinking it would look better blue.

With fervor she changed the space

and the space changed her too.

Hey, I'm not really great at this stuff so please excuse my mistakes if any.

I really like your poem because I think it's very catchy. The poetic device of repetition isn't always attractive unless it's used in a proper way. I think you've done quite a wonderful job.

These few simple lines prove that any of the human emotions can be expressed even in the simplest of forms.

I especially loved the last paragraph :

"With fervor she changed the space
and the space changed her too."

I think those were my favorite lines. I could really connect with the meaning of these lines and I guess that's why I liked them so much.

And I like this one too : "Ever the same, yet open to change"

It was somewhat like personification of the paper.

I really love the poem and wouldn't mind reading this infinite number of times.

A simple yet expressive work of art, this is.

I really like this. It's like that inner battle on how to put something into words and write it down. As someone this happens to everyday it speaks. I love how it's 'a paper window' and the last line really made everything clearer. I also like how you gave the person a name. I don't usually see that a lot and it was nice for once :) Great piece!

Hello, I am Hsarver and I am here to review your lovely poem here. I really liked this poem, seriously it just about perfect, there is little I could even say bad about it. I will list some things I really liked about it. I like your imagery, the way you used the paper window throughout the whole poem was brilliant, and the ending like the review below me said "tied it all together". Although, there is a great piece here, I would have liked to see it maybe a little bit longer. Though, that is more of a personal thing, and you can keep it just like this. Great job! Keep writing! :)

This is really great. It's simple, and rhymes/flows really well. Just because it's simple, doesn't mean there's not a lot to it, though. There's actually a lot that you said, in just a few stanzas. I particularly liked the stanza,

"Bethany faced that paper window,

thinking it would look better blue.

With fervor she changed the space

and the space changed her too."

The space changed her too.. That was a great line. As an artist, I can relate to this so well. When one paints, they get to see a whole new view. Sometimes that they didn't even know they possessed. I love it.

Thanks for sharing. =)

I really liked this! I especially liked the ending, it just seemed to tie everything together in a neat little bow and say "the end." I really enjoyed the whole concept of this poem, very original. It had a good rhythm and rhyme to it and nothing seemed forced, it just all flowed nicely. I'm not sure, but I think if you hold shift while hitting enter you don't have to use the dashes for spacing. Otherwise I can't find anything to change. I hate to be of so little help, but really well done.
