16+ Violence

In Poetry

Warning: This work has been rated 16+ for violence.

I wonder if there will ever be a time when I see you and don't want a hug.

Will I wake up in the morning and not care if I see you?

I wonder if there will ever be a time

When your face doesn't fade away into my past abusers image when I'm weak and scared

And I can trace your features not in an effort to make them stay still,

But purely because I know them so well

And they comfort me

I knew that love wouldn't solve my problems.

Mental illness and trauma don't just disappear.

But I never knew that a love so strong could be weakened by a past I despise so much.

Sometimes I honestly wish I could kill my abuser,

Just to force his face out from between mine and yours.

You'd never understand this

And would be unable to help

So I just say I'm scared and let you hold me,

As I fight to remind myself that the arms around me are friend,

not foe.

I love you.

So much that I'm scared you're not real.

This fear I feel pricks at the edges of my eyes

When I fall asleep in your arms

I wonder-

If I hold you tighter

I wonder-

So tight you can't leave

Can't breathe

I worry-

Will you die?

Heyaa TMWoods!!

This is Eros here to write a review for your beautiful work!!

So, let us start with the title. It is very attractive, catchy, and captivating. It is also related with the topic. But I have a suggestion here. If you write it as " I wonder..." it would be better. Just a suggestion. Because I wonder Love seems to be incorrect.

Then, on the second place, comes the theme and the idea. The theme of the poem is very unique. It has a grieving, and emotional touch. I like the idea of how you have presented your thoughts. It was artistic. I appreciate you for this.

The next thing which matters is the choice of set of the words. They are used in such a way that they suit the poem. It was very beautiful.

Now, what I understood. I could easily relate the stanzas with the theme, which is a most important part. It was written in a beautiful style. It was a romantic poem with so much of deep emotions. It had a touch of melancholy. The poem," I WonderLove" had a deep meaning. It had a whole lot of meaning.

Then, the flow of the poem. It glided smoothly on the screen. I like this very very much.

The short jist of the whole poem can be written as:
You wonder that would you ever be able to live without the person you love.

Though it is dramatic, whatever you have written seems to be real. This is what, is the most lovely part of this poem.

I would like to end up my review by these few line:
This was an AWESOME work.
It had a SUPERB theme.
It was UNIQUE.
Keep writing...
Never cease...
Because we all love to keep reading such awesome work.
Have a great day/night!!

The poem is incredibly sad. It reminds me of a memoir of past abusive experiences and how they seem to affect you current romance. It's great and really relatable. It shows your rage, and your love for your current love. I love the word choice, your honest opinion, and the relatable fear and rage. I just love the poem all around, and I look forward to seeing more of your work!

This was a really good poem. It made me cry just think ng about it! It is so beautiful that I had everyone around me read it. I like how you just flowed from one line to the next. I could picture the words into an image and see it as if it were truly real. I can also relate to it. You an tell she loves him and doesn't want to hurt him. I felt her fear throughout the poem. You have a strength for poetry. This was one of the most amazing poems that really touches my heart. Amazing job TMWoods.

Thank you for reading, it's so lovely that you felt deeply for it. I really appreciate you taking the time to write a review. Thank you!

This is a beautiful poem, extremely well phrased. So many emotions are portrayed: love, anger, fear and hate. You showed how love can heal as well as weaken and how the past affects the present almost permanently.

"Sometimes I honestly wish I could kill my abuser,

Just to force his face out from between mine and yours."

The rage shown to the abuser, how they ruined your ability to love is so strong, made you almost fear love. You want to be dependent and reliant on your partner but you see the abuser in them.

"I love you.

So much that I'm scared you're not real.

This fear I feel pricks at the edges of my eyes"

Amazing poem, definitely one of the most emotion filled ones. Great job.

I really appreciate your feedback- thank you! :D

Nice! Super super nice! I love the poem so much. Although you just need to trim it a little because there are some lines that are long. You can shorten it by using some hyperbole or use words that have similar and all sort.

But Great effort! I appreciate the emotions and the drama in this poem.

I like this part:

"I knew that love wouldn't solve my problems.

Mental illness and trauma don't just disappear.

But I never knew that a love so strong could be weakened by a past I despise so much.

Sometimes I honestly wish I could kill my abuser,

Just to force his face out from between mine and yours."

I agree when the persona said that 'love wouldn't solve my problems', it's because love doesn't just heal but it also kills you. Especially when you love someone. And yes, love does weaken..when you realized that the person that you love so much doesn't love you anymore and you didn't accept the reality of it.

Though i sense some possessiveness in this poem. Just in the end part when you start saying I wonder-..its like "what if..."

Anyways, good job on the poem. Hope i can see more of your works :)

Thank you so much! :)

Abusers image is the part I need to or feel like asking about.
Abusers' image is right,I think, but maybe I did not understand it there.
From the very start, the poetry is really sad but at the same time, strong.Good job really. The feelings and emotions are put in this work very deeply but in the end the punctuation just ruins it for me.
Overall,good job.

Thank you for your feedback!
