These empty pages
Hold so much potential.
Words refuse to appear,
A virgin pen yearns for its first masterpiece.
Inspiration's spark is busy being another's muse today,
While I sit waiting, hoping for temporary enlightenment,
to be able to bring together my thoughts,
my desires,
and create some sort of beauty.
In my frustration,
each line I write dies quickly after,
to be crossed out or thrown out into the garbage,
in hopes of being replaced by a better one.
When will my insufferable perplexity end?

Hi! Happy Review day! I really loved this poem. It's beautifully worded and perfectly portrays the feelings of writer's block. I'm pretty sure everyone on this website can relate to this. I love the fact that you used the lack of inspiration for writing as inspiration for your writing.
I love this line: "A virgin pen yearns for its first masterpiece." I really can't find any corrections. This flows nicely and is just a really beautiful work. Nicely done!

It's a review.

Mila, I like your poem because it's the exact opposite of what you should do. Carpe Diem! You can't wait for inspiration, you have to go get it. Inspiration is only for those who can seize it and this dude (not you) is just sitting around waiting for it to come to him. LAZY. Good poem, it goes directly against the grain, I like that. You should really try rhyming poems. I know their hard, but thats the good part about it, it challenges you and improves your skill.
I have one nit-picks about your poem. I just can't find any rythm, not all poems have a great rythm, but they still have one. Again, that's why you should try rhyming, it really helps with your rythm.
All in all, I really like your poem. It reminds me of times when I can't think of anything to write of any importance. Its infuriating! Thanks for contributing to YWS, keep writing
Hi there
First of all, I really like this. I can completely relate to the feelings in this. It's beautifully written.
Little tiny nitpick...
This line would do better split into two.
I really love the imagery and metaphors.
These are my two favorite parts:
Great job!
Hi. this is only my third review so sorry if its crappy, I'm still getting the hang of it.
First of all, I really love this.
I feel this perfectly puts into words the feeling of writers block. I really love the wording, and its also well written. I also can easily relate which I personally find to be vital for capturing the reader attention.
I hope you keep up the good work!
