Silence.
It engulfs me,
Pulls me deeper until I can no longer see the surface.
I am submerged, my entire body in a standstill
Time
Freezes.
As if there's no past or present
No future
Just here
And now.
Close my eyes.
Wait for the bottom
To hold me down
Keep me here,
Forever.
Suddenly
No air
Slowly suffocating
Calm thoughts start to wander
I'm in too deep
Lungs start to gasp
Body searches for an exit
Up to the surface?
Or should I go deeper?

hey there Kat here to write a review for you on this fine review day
Is it weird that the beginning is totally how I feel when I'm under water, like everything comes into a sharper reality? Okay I like to get the bad stuff out of the way first when I read a good poem.
The line no air seems forced, maybe you should delete it or consider revising it to be a little more descriptive or different because if you are slowly suffocating you obviously have no air right XD . Body searches for an exit also seems a little forced and should also be considered to be re written. I guess this is preference as overall your poem flows very well as other people have commented below. I love how you ended it in a question that seemed to push the person in the poem to the point of breaking leaving us as readers curious but still oddly satisfied with your writing kind of like anticipating a equal to a good book or film if you know what I mean. How you divided your sentences seems very good too, some people cut off sentences and leave others whole within the lines of their poems but I am very glad you didn't.
Anyways keep it up and I look forward to reading more from you in the future
~Kat
Hey! I have to say that I really enjoyed this poem, it is very flowing and well written.
I loved the way it flowed and how every line stayed consistent with what you were going for with the poem. Also I loved the imagery you used in the poem and how you transitioned from something nice to something scary, it read very nicely. I also loved how every line stays short so everything reads smoothly.
One thing that I would suggest, on the other hand, is the fact that although everything read smoothly, my eyes tended to skip over some words and reread them. I would reword somethings, so the ideas are still there, but the reader's eyes still has something to read and nothing to skip over.
All in all, I really enjoyed this poem and I hope to read more from you soon. As always, keep writing and have a great day!
Hello, Subtle here for a review! Nice poem you've got there. I like the idea behind this poem, a dive to suffocation isn't something you see everyday. And from a nice, calm soothing dive to the suffocating trap, the transition there was nicely written. The pacing was also good, not too fast allowing a smooth transition. The imagery here, is also quite lovely. Though your language is simple, it has a bluntness to it that makes it realistic. Because your sentences are short, there is very set rhythm to this poem that makes it very enjoyable to read, as well as the uniqueness of the content!
I think you can get rid of the 'it', I know is a pronoun for silence, but in there it sounds repetitive. So, I don't have any nitpicks on the content, so let's get on with this boring stuff.
Line break, because is the start of something different.
So, overall, great piece. I really enjoyed reading this, looking forward to hear more from you!
