Go -
Reread the work you thought you knew.
Remind yourself of the gnawing ache, and
repent for wasted time and silly words.
Go -
See how limbs have stretched into yawning skies,
and memories have changed.
Bear witness to the gnarled, exposed roots.
Go -
Forgive the fumbling transgressions,
the unearned pride and praise, and
trust this blue, familiar hue.
And resist the urge to destroy it.
Don't forget it was real then, too.

Hello there! I hope you are having a wonderful morning, noon, or night!
This is incredibly relatable, as I've just went back to reread my old works. Most of them made me want to throw up, even the ones I cherished at that time.
And that's what I got from the poem! That our old works are monuments of our improvement, a way to see where we've been, and how we've grown, so overall, an incredible message!
I do have one small nitpick though, and it's just my opinion, but in the line, "See how limbs have stretched into yawning skies," feels a tad awkward. I get what you're trying to say, but I feel that the word 'limbs' don't really fit with the tone of the poem.
Like I said, a salty nitpick that you could disregard. I adored this poem, and I love the pattern of "Go-" It really adds an air of uniqueness to the poem, and tied it all togethor!
Congrats on the literary spotlight, and have a great day!
Hello @Lucky_Duck! @NastyMajesty in here for a review, nice to meetcha! Let's just hop right in (excuse the messiness in my review xD)
It's so descriptive and pleasing to read! Not gonna lie, just reading the word yawn makes me yawn (is that weird xD?) YESSSSSSS! What a mood lol.Sigh... what can I say? Haven't we all been through this (′▽`〃)
I really like this stanza:
I don't believe you need that comma before the and.
Anywho, you did a great job capturing those thoughts you get when you read your previous writing pieces from when you younger -- *cringe*. Overall, loved this poem! Keep writing!
This. Is. Exactly. What. It. Feels. Like.
You perfectly captured the feelings I get when I reread my old poetry. I'm embarrassed I was ever that bad and I'm proud to see how I've improved.
But I absolutely love the way you changed this into a celebration of both growth and appreciating our old works. It's really hard to reread something without wanting to change it, to delete it, but you reminded me that although it might not feel the way my newer works might feel, it's still real.
(In case you couldn't guess, your last stanza was my favorite and it hit me the hardest.)
Overall, amazing job. ^-^
i was about to post the first review-- ;-;
Oops XD
