Your love is like dancing in the midnight rain,
The gentle tiptoes of careful feet,
The beautiful earthy smell that is in the air,
And it fills my heart with happiness,
The delicate way the rain falls on me,
Shimmering under the bright moon,
Like a gentle caress, soft as a feather,
The soft pitter-patter on my face,
Leaving a refreshing calmness in my soul.
❤️
Your love is like the freshly sprinkled dew on the grass,
Tiny droplets spread around near and far,
The moist air covering me and protecting me from harm,
Clean air filling my lungs like freshly mowed grass,
And if I tip my head back so I can listen,
I will hear the morning doves singing with their whole hearts,
I will hear the crickets telling of the love they have in their soul,
The cool breeze will whisper the joys it had throughout the night,
And I will smile because I know the joys of being loved.
❤️
Your love is like the vibrant sunrise,
The luminous rays dancing downward,
Touching my skin and warming my soul,
The mesmerizing golden, pink, and red light,
Hitting my eyes just the right way,
The beautiful kiss upon my forehead,
And I am glad that my eyes have opened this morning,
To witness this new day,
And to greet this love that you have for me.

Hello! I love love poetry, so I had to read and wanted to leave some comments on how I felt and interpreted the poem.
It perfectly sums up the mood of the poem, which is truly a joyful and pure piece. This poem is jammed-pack with so many beautiful images and comparisons. Essentially, that is what this poem is! One can truly sense that the narrator is heavily in love with somebody or someone. One can even interpret this as a religious poem showing God's perfect love!
The ending punctuation and the consistency of stanza length makes this poem feel a lot more structured, despite the list of images giving a sense of overflow. It balances the sheer number of similes with how clean and put-together the poem looks, so good job on that!
I believe my favorite line in this poem has to be,
My suggestion would perhaps displaying what love is not to strengthen this wonderful feeling of what love is. Contrasts like that help show readers that while yes, the theme and subject of this poem is the best kind of love imaginable, but here is the bad to compare it to, only to boost how wonderful it is. I hope that makes sense. Either way, the purely positive tone of this poem works!
Thank you for writing, and sharing, this piece. I'll try to check out some of your other work soon
Hey Fleur!! Ohhhh I never thought of adding a contrast stanza. That sounds quite nice actually. I will have to add on a little bit. Thank you for the suggestion!~
Hello!! I love this poem, it’s really refreshing and I love the descriptions. The way you use hearts to separate the stanzas is really creative.
this is so descriptive and calming. My favourite line is this,
Another amazing parts is this,
Are you talking about that person protecting you too here?
In most of the poem, you relate the natural beauty to the love the speaker feels. And the healing effect of nature is the healing effect of love. Is it because love is natural too? And nature produces a peace and love for all creation?
Overall, this was a really good piece. Well done!!
Hey! Yes I was trying to describe the love through imagery within nature. I am not sure I got the point across all the way but i am glad you liked it!
Hi there, friend!! Ellie back to leave a review on this lovely poem
I absolutely loved this entire first stanza. I noticed how it all uses commas until the very last sentence. The lines are very beautiful and descriptive. The period at the very end finally gives us a sense of closure, as if we have been holding our breath for a very very long time and finally get that relief, getting all of the words out. It is like you have breathed out all of the feelings, finally making space for yourself to breathe in some calm. All of your stanzas follow the same pattern, so to me this poem resembles three big breathes. It really is a declaration of love, which I really adore.
I loved these two lines:
I loved the 'know the joys of being loved' statement that you made. It feels so poetic and flows like the breeze. Your sentences all contain so many different, but connecting details. Wonderful job on these!! Overall, this poem was lovely and spoke very strongly of love. I enjoyed it very much.
Your friend,
Ellie

This poem is so lovely and your writing is incredible! I love how you describe everything, and I also really love how you use the hearts in between the stanzas!
Aww, thank you!
