Take me, bind me, and leave me behind,
I want nothing but a little peace from a grieving mind,
Be my Michelangelo and I will be your muse,
Use my blood to create your palette of red and sculpt me a new fuse,
Create me new ways to just simply say,
That I am tired and living costs me more than I can pay,
I was taken as whole pieces and left as an unfinished thought,
A collection of sorrow, grief, anger that was not enough to be bought,
You don't see me hanging in castles, or gathering dust in museums,
You don't hear my epilogues roared in ancient coliseums,
But I wish you would think of me as your breath drifts,
I wish you would think of me, passing by in memory sifts.
I crave that you would dream of me in parts,
That would be a wonderful start.

This is an interesting series you’re making,I’ll be sure to stay tuned for more.I think this is about someone who is forgotten or nearly forgotten and just wants to be known and loved. An outsider to the entire world,to society.Just a background gray character lost in the sea of everyone else.Just a spot in darkness…or not.I hope you have a wonderful day/night.
Hello! Wayward here with a quick review
I'm. in love with this. Your poetry style is very unique and absolutely beautiful!!
These first two lines establish that you're not looking for a forever - you're looking for a reprieve. It's a great way to start the poem because it could be about so many different things, and it makes the reader want to keep reading! My only suggestion is to end the second line with a period, since it's the ending of the thought, of these two lines which make a complete sentence.
The way you use words here is so incredibly unique and gorgeous. You're willing to sacrifice to be immortalised. The references to Michelangelo's art, with both painting and sculpting, is very well done, and poems referencing history and stories are always super intriguing. Once again, though, I would recommend you end this thought with a period. This critique just sort of extends to the whole poem.
You want your pain to be seen as art. Once again your writing style is *chef's kiss*.
This is a very interesting idea, and one that I think is relevant to a lot of artists, writers, poets, etc. Seeing yourself as potential art, and each emotion you feel as a poem or an artwork often serves to make an artist think of themself as art. While this is a beautiful concept, it often prevents artists from seeing themselves as humans, and instead as something that must be beautiful, and all of their emotions are something that must be captured where others can see. You express this idea very well!!
Once again, the desire to be seen and to be loved, even if it is as a work of art instead of as a person, is so clearly seen here. Your word choice is so lovely, especially "memory sifts". This reminds me of the sands of time - not sure if that was your intention but oml it's lovely.
Aah the pure longing to be seen, to be loved, to be dreamed of. This is such a beautiful way to end the poem. The entire piece is stunning, and your writing style is. so lovely and nice. My only two critiques are that the rhythm is a bit weird and the period thing. Overall, this is wonderful!!!
Keep writing!
Wayward
Hello, and thank you kindly for your review!
I am glad you love my style, I know my poetry has no structured rhyme or reason. I like being the free bird. I will keep in mind the thoughts about the punctuation. This poem is made of 3 other parts, so I am interested to see if it flows well with the rest. It may explain how it's a bit weird being that it's technically an unfinished piece. I wanted it to be written as a conversation between two people.
I love how you interpreted this section of the poem, and I am very keenly interested to see how you find the second, as it takes a very wild turn. I will keep it vague, but this poem is not as happy as one may find it in the beginning.
Ohh I didn't know it was a series!! I'll definitely keep an eye out for it!
