Life as a Painting

red, the color of her pulse when you walk by

orange, the color of the sky as you hold her hand on a fall evening

yellow, the color of her face, as she smiles in the sun

green, the color of the field you run through together

blue, the color of her eyes as you sink deeper in them

purple, the color of the curtains as you dance together in an open house

pink, the color of your love as you hold her tight, your lives as a canvas

Hey, I'll be reviewing your poem today :)

Firstly, I absolutely love this concept, and I really enjoyed the way you used it in this poem. There was a clear link between each colour and the image you paired it with, and I especially liked the purple one.
This may be slightly odd but I also really like the fact you have gone in rainbow colour order, it gives the poem a really lovely flow and makes it more interesting (in my opinion).

I can't think of anything I would improve. Thank you for writing it, I very much enjoyed reading it!

Hi DarkPrizm.. This poem is so in tune with your username.. Like a prism breaks the white light into seven colours.. Just like that you have symbolised emotions using colours which is a very traditional method.. With your spin on it.. There is a constant flow which makes it a very good read.. The poem is also a reflection of your innocence and purity of mind.. Because as you grow older, you'll slowly start getting a glimpse of the darker sides of these same emotions.. And then maybe you'll write another poem, which again I'll be very glad to read.. So, keep progressing and keep writing.. Thank You:)

When you wrote this comment i was already starting another poem with the same concept but with bad colors, and linking them to the bad sides of relationships. or i thought i could use the same colors but in a grim tone with the same bad romance happenings. thanks for your review, much love!

Hi, DarkPrizm! My name is PenPacifist, and I will be reviewing your poem today.

To start off, I am absolutely in love with your poem. I have always adored the concept of using colors to describe feelings and emotions, and I am over the moon somebody decided to take that concept and make it an entire poem! And an amazing, well-written poem. Everything has a flow. The repetition is appropriate and not overwhelmingly present. Your imagery felt like you took a paintbrush and waved it all over your poem. I could clearly see the relationship between the color you selected and the image you described to compliment the color. This poem is one-hundred percent romantic.

Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece of poetry with us.

Hello! Here for a review.

This is a really good poem! First of all, I would like to comment on the title, I feel as if it doesn't really relate to the poem except for the last line where you mention that their lives are a canvas, but I do like the concept. I will say that the title could be "colors" or something like that.

I would recommend punctuation after every line. It would all be grammatically correct then since you are capitalizing each beginning letter of the sentence.

The content of the lines are great and I have no criticism on those.
Good poem, best of luck on your others!
