Hi Rev
You know the drill!
I think this poem is very relevant and speaks to the world we live in and have created for ourselves. I really like the way you set the poem up, with the "like" count beside each section. Really helps drive the point home.
Seeking validation is ultimately, in my opinion, a natural human behavior and probably something that developed to assist us with survival. If we are being accepted by those around us, we were more likely to survive in a harsh world. I don't think it is inherently bad but any behavior, if out of balance, can have negative outcomes. The world is differently harsh now. We are much more removed from the primal reality with our electricity and internet and ease of travel and really ease of living in general, but that primality is still there. It is still a reality for many on the planet.
I do wonder how long it would take to evolve past the need for validation as a survival instinct. If we are even able to continue to sustain an environment where it is less needed, our species may reach that one day. How different the world look if that happened. Certainly not in our lifetimes.
So, while it is still an instinct that doesn't mean we can't train ourselves to seek it less.
"scroll through what could be’s

This last section hit me harder than the rest. I am not one who posts much on socials, but I am a scroller and have definitely had those what ifs and what could have been thoughts.
Thanks for sharing your poem with us!
