The prize: 10,000 points to the winner.

Open to: All works.
That includes; novels and novellas, essays, short stories, poetry, photography and art, lyrics and music, and anything else I've left out.

What's the catch?

You can't submit your own work.

What? Yep, that's right. You're only allowed to submit someone else's work.
Find something in the forums that has inspired you- something that you think deserves to win 10,000 points.

How it works:
You choose up to three works to submit, and post a link and (optional) your reason for submitting it, in this thread. Then when the deadline rolls around, myself and three secret judges will deliberate for many an hour until we come up with a 1st. 2nd, and 3rd place work. The winning author then recieves the grand prize.

Submission rules:
Each person can submit up to three works, but each work must be by a different author.
You can't submit your own work, or two works by the same author.
Works must be by a yws member who has written at least five reviews.
Works must have been posted in the forums between January 2013 and present day.

Prizes:
Traditionally the prizes are as follows:
1st Place: 10k points. 2nd Place: 3k points. 3rd place: 1k points.
Runners up all recieve gifts.

Deadline is August 31st '14.

N/B This is a contest of good will. Members suspected of trying to rig the submissions will be investigated and disqualified at the judges discretion. Play nice, guys =]

All donations towards the prize fund are very much welcome.

I may return with other nominations, but this one leapt to mind immediately:

Juju: A Tribute by @Temi , for the relevance to our world, the beauty that drips from words used to poetry, but thrust into prose, and a lasting impression that I don't get very often.
you can message me with anything: questions, review requests, rants
are you a green room knight yet?
have you read this week's Squills?

Relief by @Moo because of the intricacies of depression and the beauty of release.

goose country by @Audy because Mother Goose couldn't write anything this good.

I'm fine, why do you ask? by @joshuapaul because prose is not my thing, but this was beautiful and it sated the poet in me.

Vocabulary Test Stories by @cleverclogs

I don't have much to say but wow! It's rare that something this interesting and unique comes about, and I'm just glad I was able to run across it.

tracing bedsheets by @verymaryanna

Words cannot describe how much I love this poem. The imagery is wonderful and it's still one of my favorite pieces on this site.

I wrote this when we were dumb and happy together by @ReisePiecey

Another one of my favorite poems. It's so sweet and well-written, and the tone is spot-on.
In the beginning, the universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

It took me so long to come up with this list! I had too many >< Anyways, I am going to chip in a bit for novels.

LAPIS :The Introduction: by @SereneSimpliciT because it's a brilliant idea and the story keeps getting better and better. I love reading it and can't wait to see where this novel goes.

The Book Man, Chapter 1 (Revised) by @BlueAfrica because more people need to write things kids can also read on here ;) Brilliantly written, a complete story, currently under editing but it's the kind of plot anyone can fall in love with <3

Things Fall Apart Chapter One: The Way This Works by @RoyalHighness because it seemed like it was going to be a light hearted (and I believed) girly read, but turned out to deal with more realistic problems than I believed and still manages to have a great voice and characters in it too.
Trust in God and all else follows.

I had forgotten this, but now I remember.

I've only got one so far, but I'm looking for others:
Ten-Four by @fortis because it's cute and quirky. It made me laugh and get that feeling after you've read something and the ending is sad, but instead of making you want to cry it makes you want to do something about it in the same moments. Not to mention, I've got to respect anyone who can skillfully write scripts because I think they're hard.

I'm a little new, but these are the best works I've seen so far:

What Could Not Be (Chapter 1) *EDITED* By Scottylaa
The Hospital Room By GroovyStella
And last but not least- What is...? By ccwritingrainbow
