Write a short story or poem about birthdays.
It doesn't have to be about YWS in paticular, it could be about a little girl named Kate's eighth birthday for all we care. It just has to fully encompass what you think birthdays are all about. Sound good? We think so!

Well... It's a secret. But don't worry, there's going to be plenty for both first and second place.

November 13th, 2014. The day before YWS' tenth birthday!
The only rules are that it must be your work, PG 13 and be about birthdays. No limits on how long or short, but please keep in mind that if you give us a 80 line sonnet about the beauty of YWS, we're probably going to get bored. No offense
And on the other hand, if you hand us a two hundred word short story, we're probably going to feel a bit short handed. Post your entries through the publishing center and then link them to this thread, please. Good luck!
