you come to me in a room full of creatives insisting that i write about how i hate that its cold now & that i am taking a chance on myself with new projects
there is so much uncertainty on the cusp of war
the apple fell very far from the tree & has been trying to differentiate ever since
there is always something so honest (and tense) about your writing that I find incredibly refreshing and hyperspecific to you as a poet. I can't wait to follow your thread and hopefully see your more critical poetry this April! such an essential topic that deserves attention, all love to you
In a shadow there is the blessing of a shadow. — Kuki Shūzō
@foxtails - you have such a thoughtful way of assembling your poems, I'm not sure I have words to capture it - but it's like you hint at so much more behind what you are saying and then layer all these different images / thoughts together - it makes your poems so re-readable because it feels like there is so much behind the words.
For instance
there is so much uncertainty on the cusp of war
I love that - and love that it could be understood nationally / societally / but also interpersonally - right before the "war" is when uncertainty brews.
Your 2nd poem is also very trippy because I see the last line as almost directed at the reader, rather than just the poetic subject - very interesting!
Hope to read more this month, you are a great poet!
you should know i am a time traveler & there is no season as achingly temporary as now
