Brianna: Walking to my dorm

Emily and I started walking back to our dorm after that freak showed up. Emily showed her up though.

"Oh joy. We already have enemies on the first day of school."
"Eh. It's not too bad. We do have each other!"
"That's true, but still."

While we were walking down the hall, administrators rushed passed us.

"What is the world..." I started.
"No clue. Doesn't include us, so it doesn't matter."
"We'll find out eventually, I guess."

She shrugged her shoulders and we walked into the dorm.

She changes into her uniform and looks down. “This could be way worse.” she said.

“Don't even get me started I say.” I say. I look at my bags. “We should probably unpack.”

“Well it is not going to unpack its self.” Brianna says.

“Let's just get it done, so we can have some fun before classes start tomorrow.” I say

We turn on some music on and start to unpack our close. I go into the bathroom and lay out all make hair stuff and make up on my side of the counter. I put the bag with my tooth brush on the side too. After that. I fix my closet to look nice and organized. “So tell me a bit about you, I do not want us to stay complete strangers. It would be very awkward and not as fun. To be honest, I did not expect to have a room mate, so might as well know something about you.” I say.

Beth Ann: Lunch Hall

The table in front of me flipped over with a shock wave.

"What the frig?!" I screamed, pulling Rayah down with me. I covered my head, trying to get a grip on the situation. This was not the normal first day of school.

"Students!" a professor shouted over the chaos. Most people had left the Dining Hall, but those who were left were staring in awe or terror.

I peeked up and saw a girl towering above us. Apparently, she was the one flipping tables. For fun, judging by the smirk on her face.

"What's your problem?" Rayah demanded, standing up.

I stood too, more tentatively though.

A booming voice cut across the Hall, splitting up the commotion, and silencing everyone. "What exactly is going on here?"

I looked over to find the owner of the voice. To my utter horror, I recognized the man stepping toward us as the headmaster of the school.

"You three," he said pointing at me, Rayah, and the other girl (Gemini, I found out later), "are invited to my office."

My face paled. I didn't even do anything! I couldn't get in trouble! "Do we have to accept the invite?" I squeaked nervously.

The headmaster's eyes twinkled with amusement, but he nodded toward the exit.

The three of us solemnly left the Lunch Hall, student's eyes boring into the backs of our heads. In the hallway we passed a boy and a girl deep in conversation, but I smiled friendly at them anyways. After a surprisingly brief walk, we came to a corridor with large paintings littering the walls. Intrigued, I studied some of them as I walked.

Then we stopped. "Here we are," the headmaster declared softly.

Gemini stared at him as if he were crazy. I was thinking he was a little wacked too, because the corridor was a dead end. There were no doors that could lead into an office, so I was thoroughly puzzled. Then, to my surprise, the old man pushed aside a painting of a large castle on the wall that looked as old as him. My eyes widened as he revealed a large room.

"Go on in," he beckoned.

I stepped through first.
---------------------------
After a few minutes of scolding, the headmaster, Yull, cleared his throat, and scratched his head nervously. I think he was searching for the right words. Then Headmaster Yull began,

"Here at Silver Lake, we encourage learning. But that doesn't necessarily limit your learning to... academics." He paused. "We accept students here who show signs of being capable to possess special talents. Some might already know about their abilities, like you, Gemini," he said, nodding at her. "But others, like you, Beth Ann, might not."

Rayah looked as stunned as me. Was this guy serious?

I had to admit, I was seriously thrown off by the fact that I may not be in trouble. That I was being.... praised? I didn't know if that was the right word but fine by me if I was getting a "get out of trouble free" card. I smiled realizing I would have a much better time thanks to my new found powers, and where it was getting me now. Now I was going from loser to winner in seconds cause of new powers.

"Alright, at first I thought you had a few screaws loose at first for thinking you could scold me, and not expect me to smear you against the walls. But now I can see that me and you, are going to be the best of friends now. So what do you have in mind?" I inquired.

Rayah: Office

The man answers Gem's question before looking at me.

The tips of my fingers turning bright red, I sit slouched in my chair with my arms crossed and my face hidden. The man's eyes set on my hands, seeing the change, and he sits up a little, "You alright?"

I turn my hands into fists and nod, "Fine," I mutter.

"You're parents didn't send you here to get in trouble, Rayah," He says, "Don't push the rules."

I shake my head and stand, walking out and calming myself before I decide it's time to let my powers loose.

Doom : Nurse's room to Headmaster's Office

I steadied myself onto my feet as the Nurse led me to the headmaster's office. I had gashes and bruises all over my body, and I felt them, searing pain running like a cheetah.
We passed by that girl.. Rayah, I think it was, and she was steaming, but trying to calm herself. I tried to give her a wave and a smile, but it came out as a frown and a flick of the wrist that said, "I don't care about you, so leave me alone."
She shook her head and walked away.

Beth Ann: Headmaster's Office

Even while Headmaster Yull was explaining the whole "power" thing, it still seemed ridiculous. Only people in movies and comics could flip tables over with shock waves, or zap people with lightning. However, I had just seen Gem knock people over with ease and a flick of the wrist, so maybe- No, I firmly told myself. There's a logical and reasonable explanation for everything.

"Not everything can be explained logically, Beth Ann," Yull said seriously.

I almost gasped. How did he know what I was thinking?

Gemini glanced over at me as the headmaster simply stated, "I can read thoughts when I feel a need."

Suddenly, halting our conversation, a girl with a sour expression marched into the office from behind the painting, led by the school nurse.

(Boy)

The smooth walls of the hallway glared down at me as I walked slowly towards the cafeteria. What the hell was I doing here? Running a hand through my thick black hair, I rounded the smooth corner, grimacing to myself.

There was no easy way out of hell.

What? There was an overturned table, and a bunch of students sitting as far away from it as possible. I caught the look of all the girls and shied my eyes down, sitting at a table opposite them. The whole school was stylish like some overgrown designers piece of work; I hated it.

What was I going to do?

I was happy, very happy, things were going my way the way I wanted everything to go. I took a seat still smiling as the girl I tapped from before was walked in, still kinda surprised she's alive, I do believe I'll have to smear her against the wall later. I learned a few new names, new things that I would have to look into later, and the small chance of me finding out why I have these powers. This can't be something I was just born with, but I digress, I wondered what these two have that they can use? If I'm expected to dominate this school I got to get it straight that I rule no one else.

Brianna and I talk for a good while. This girl may act shy, but she is very talkative. We decide to go back to the dining hall and grab a snack. We go in through another entrance and papers are all over the floor. “We missed a lot.” She said.

“I do not think 'a lot' begins to describe what we missed.” I say.

I shut the door to my 'new' room in a huff, shrugging off my jacket and perching myself on the bed. Why did dad have to send me here, a school for snobs and rich idiots right? Anyway, it wasn't as if I hadn't done some pretty bad stuff, but I never realized that this would happen. The majority of people here where idiots as far as I could tell anyway. I pressed my hands against the wall, closing my eyes and breathing in slowly...

Crack

A gaping whole about a ruler long, was in the place of his hands, no splintering, no shards on the floor, just a hole. Sighing I sat on the bed frustrated. Why did this have to happen to me? No one else could paralyze an object with there mind, Why, Why, Why? With a bang I hurried out the door, getting my back pack from where left it.

As I went to the dining room, two heads turned my way, girl heads.

"Hi..." I muttered slowly, watching as there gaze took on my blue eyes and sharp cheekbones.

"I'm Brianna" One of them said.

“I'm Brianna.” She said.

He looks over to me. “I'm Emily.” I say.

“Alex.” He says.

Mercury: Lunch Hall

I didn't appreciate having tables flipped across the hall while I was enjoying my tasty bacon baguette, and I was thankful for the arrival of the chumps that rounded up the three that seemed to be at the depth of the event. Pah, all the same to me.

I hadn't surprised me how many kids had tried to sit at my table, most of which I had simply shooed away with my hand, one kid, on the other hand, failed to realise that I preferred my own company over my food. The dark-haired guy sat across from me, and smiled endearingly. Jesus Christ, this moron wants to be my friend. Ugh

I swatted the back of my hand to tell him to shove off, much nicer than many other gestures I could use had I been in a much fouler mood. His eyebrows narrowed and he glared at me, quite obviously trying to appear somewhat intimidating... and failing. "Who the hell do you think you are, kid?" He growled under his breath, once again attempting to crown himself alpha male in the situation. These children better learn fast, otherwise the medical room is gonna get full awfully quick.

"What I think is the reality, my name is Mercury Narkise, and you should think about backing off now, because I can guarantee you'll regret annoying me," I replied, bluntly, not allowing this idiot to get to me.

He stood up, gazing down at me with childish rage-filled eyes. "Oh, a snot-nosed Brit kid huh? Come on, ya tea-sipping maggot!" He roared angrily, attracting the attention of many kids still in the lunch hall following the table problem.

I was lucky in this sense; with no teachers around after the flying furniture fiasco, and with the undivided focus of some of my fellow students, it would be easy to declare my position as the alpha of the year-group. I mirrored him, hurling what was left of my lunch across the room. Sliding my hand back through my dark blonde hair, threw his meal onto the floor, the tray clattering in a puddle of mash potato and gravy.

In a mixture of shock and anticipation, the boy shot a straight jab with his right fist across the table, to which I swayed back and jumped backwards, onto the seat of the table.

My left foot leaped up onto the surface of the furniture, and my right shunted into the muscled shoulder of my opponent. He stumbled back over the placement and landed flat on his back, and I riled the crowd by swaying my hands up and down in a confident streak, my dark emerald eyes examining my audience.
The kid stood up, his narrow face reddened with the flames of rage.
I jumped down from the table and we circled, he waiting for an opportunity of a hit (he was obviously a boxer), and I simply waiting to counter and knock him out quickly and efficiently; the speed was what scared people the most.

After a moment or two, he came in with a sudden left hook which I avoided, dodging with considerable agility. He realised my typical mistake and came down on my right ear with his other fist, causing a horrible ringing sound pounding my eardrums. I endured the hit, trying not to let my temper get the best of me, and struck the guy back in his face; directly on the side of the jaw.

I recoiled as the pain ran through my hand, but his head snapped to the left, and, sensing my advantage, I jabbed my available left fist into my opponents solar-plexus, and knocking him straight out with a swift chop to the throat.
He hit the floor in a similar way in which his meal did.

As I walked away casually from the carnage, I did not bother to examine the expressions of those who had observed the fight, because it would have made it seem as if I actually cared what they thought.

I yawned deeply. I should probably check out my quarters, see who my roommates are, blahdy blah. As soon as this whole induction thing is over, I can complete this part of my training and join the intel.

Before he could answer, I hear something coming from the dining hall and go check it out. “Oh, a snot-nosed Brit kid huh? Come on, ya tea-sipping maggot!" Some guy yelled.

After these children finish, I walk over to the British person. “Looks like another one came across the pond besides me. Well that is thrilling and all,” I say sarcastically. “but, I do not think the way you present yourself is not saying much about the UK. You should really think before you act so you do not get kicked out of school and the Uk's reputation is trashed.”

Mercury: Hallway

"You should really think before you act so you do not get kicked out of school and the Uk's reputation is trashed."

I turned around to the girl who also appears to be in my age group, clearly indifferent to the fact that I originate from the same nation as she. To be honest I expected no more; nationality does not make a person.

"I apologise if that offended your patriotism," I reply, trying to appear friendly; my polite side and charm was more commonly displayed to the opposite gender because of my clear underestimation of them in competition. "Try to understand that was just me protecting myself, not exactly the way I wanted to spend my first day," I lied, rubbing the back of my neck. "Anyway, where are my manners? My name is Mercury, Mercury Narkise. Pleased to meet you..." I left a pause for the young lady to fill in the gap.
