Emily

I study him for a moment. “I'm Emily.” I say. “You might have been protecting yourself, but I am sure all of that was not necessary. There are other ways and places you can handle things.” I say.

“I was just,” he begins.

“You do not have to explain any thing.” I say. “All I am saying is, there are a way to control situations, like the way I had control over this one.” I say turning and heading back down the hallway.

Alex Room

I am stood gaping as Emily rushes to the Dining Room, the rush of voices growing louder and louder.

"What the hell?" I mutter pulling my jacket around my shoulders I quicken my pace out of the Dining Hall. I am eager to get away from the mass if swarming people, like an irritated bundle of annoying bees. Perhaps I can ignore them, or maybe not. I sigh as I reach the room, stopping as I see the notice on the wall.

Alex Phoenix: Mercury Narkise

Who the hell was Mercury? There goes the peaceful daydream of a quite room, obviously another fat jerk, eager to disrupt every minute of the day. Still, if he wasn't in my way all the time, I hoped I could get past him.

Time to find out

Mercury: Hallway

Before I could reply to Emily, she headed off down the hallway. "Control over me, of course," I muttered sarcastically, rolling my eyes and beginning down the hallway. A kid gazed at me with distrusting eyes, offence almost. "have you got a problem?" I barked, patience growing thin as the idea of anyone having power me starting to fester in my mind.

He seemed to to be shocked, but not incredibly, maybe he had realised what kind of a character I was, but certainly not my history. I hated being ordered around, by anyone, and naturally I wasn't particularly happy when I was ordered to attend this stupid academy. I would ace my subjects, show dominance in sport and leave a mark on the school, after all I'd be saving them all once I'd completed my training.

I brought myself back into the situation at hand. "What's the matter," I grinned, "cat got your tongue?"

“Is it safe to go in there now?” Brianna asks laughing.

“Most likely not, but I am sure we can get an apple with out getting killed.” I say.

“That is reassuring.” Brianna says. “I am hungry though, so lets go for it.” say walking towards the dining hall.

Lucian "Luce" Blaek--Hallway

Late... on the second day. Great going, dad.

I readjust the bag over my shoulder and make my way down on the halls. Sighing, I find the office and then the list of roommates. After I put my bag away, I head to one of my classes only to find a mass wave of people headed towards the cafeteria. Flipping my golden hair from my turquoise eyes, I attempt to continue on my way before I give up and follow them, sitting in a table in a corner and watching.

I missed the whole first half of the day?

Rubbing a hand over my face, I release another sigh and hope this place would work out better than the other schools my parents had thought would suit me. I hesitate before moving from my seat alone to join a more crowded one with those I assumed were somewhat decent, clearing my throat.

"'Cuse me," I flash a polite smile, "I'm Luce. Mind if I take a seat?"

“Of course.” I say. “I'm Emily.” I motion him to take a seat next to me.

“Brianna.” she says.

“I just go here. How much did I miss yesterday?” Luce asks.

I look to Brianna and roll my eyes. “Oh how I would have paid money to have missed yesterday.” I exclaim. “There are some 'interesting' in our school and a lot of anger. Some people got punched in the face, the hallway got destroyed. Classic people wanting to rule the school.” I say. “Other than that, it was wonderful.”

“Sounds like I missed a lot.” He says

“Nothing really important. You just walked around. Got everything unpacked and stuff. It was kind of like move in day.” I say reassuring him.
“So you start classes today?” he asks.

“Yes. I have music first. What is your first class?” I ask.

Wow...

"So you start classes today?" I ask.

"Yes. I have music first. What is your first class?" Emily asks.

I take out my schedule again and find first period, the whole thing jumbled to me.

"Wellness," I reply. Ugh. Great. "Which I'm guessing is in the gym."

Mercury: The Gym

It had been a quiet evening yesterday, clearly me and my roommate Alex clearly didn't get on particularly well, which didn't surprise me in the slightest. It was somewhat relieving to know that the first lesson of the day for me was wellness, s subject which I excelled exceptionally in. In the changing rooms there was a gallery of different shapes; tall and bulky, lanky, stout and wide, and then just the average bodies. The benches were divided by lockers stacked like bookshelves in a library, yet I found myself sat alone on my very own section; to most this would make them feel unpopular, but for me I just felt dominant.

I flashed a dark smile at the kid I had a run in with the previous day, and he scurried away quickly to avoid embarassment. I removed my deep blue t-shirt, revealing the defined, large muscles that lie beneath; the intense training I endured during my childhood had done me a lot of good in the physical department. As I threw it over my shoulder a small voice was cut off, and I turned to see a rather comic scene of a figure that had been masked with my shirt. He yanked it from his head (revealing golden blonde hair and turquoise eyes) and chucked it back at me, smiling a faintly friendly expression.

"Hello, I'm Lucian. I'm new."

"So... do you want a medal?" I retorted nastily, unfastening the buckle of my belt, then proceeding to slide out of my pale jeans. He sat behind, with his back to me, and also started to get changed; as long as he kept quiet, it wouldn't bother me.

I have missed A LOT!!!

Brianna- Walking to music

I was walking to music. Thankfully Emily and I both have music first. It's good to know at least one person in my class.

"I'm so happy I have someone to walk with. It's not fun to look like a loner or a jerk," I say.
"Yeah. I'm happy too. I hope we get to sit together."
"Yes! I just hope none or the jerks are in this class. I wouldn't mind Lucian or Alex. They seem pretty decent but...." I trailed off.
"I know who you're talking about."

Emily- Music Class

I carry my two instrument cases in my hand as me walk to class. Brianna and I are the first ones there. “I enjoy being early.” I say. I put my cases in a chair and take my flute out first. I put it together and warm up and make sure everything sounds nice. I put that at rest and get out my violin. I play a few notes and have to tighten a few strings.

“How many instruments do you play?” Brianna asks astonished.

“I can pretty much play anything. I am a musical prodigy. That's my gift. Some people are good in school or in sports, but music is my thing.” I say. I put my violin down and head our to the piano. “This is my favorite though.” I say. I sit down and just start playing.

“Wow you are really good.” Brianna says.

“That she is.” The teacher says. “You must be Emily.” The teacher say.
I nod and put out my hand. “Yes that is me.” I say.

“Your father told me of your amazing talent.” He says. “So happy to have you in my class. I'm Mr. Sampson.”

I nod. “Oh course he did.” I mumble.

“What?” Mr. Sampson asks.

“Nothing.” I say.

The class starts to file in and I take my seat next to Brianna.

Lucian -- Gym

After the bell rings, I part from my new acquaintances and head to where I hope the gym is. I get lost a few times, ending up right back in the cafeteria, before finding the gymnasium and rushing into the locker room. Everyone is already changing by the time I get there.

Sighing, I spot an empty space on one of the benches and make towards it when a shirt is thrown atop my head. I make to snap at whoever threw it before calming myself and yanking the shirt off my face. Chucking it back at the dark blonde-haired guy in front of me, I attempt to appear friendly and plaster a seemingly kind smile.

"Hello, I'm Lucian. I'm new," I introduce myself, not quite sure why I used my first name over my preferred nickname.

"So..." he trails off, proceeding to remove his jeans, "do you want a medal?"

I shake my head at him and take the empty spot I saw earlier, stripping of my shirt. Already beginning to block out everything that happened, I keep a mental note to avoid the kid and change like the others. I follow everyone else out and file into lines, the coach beginning to check off names.

Alex Gym

I head down the hall, my hair ruffled and unkept and struggling to get my shoes on.

First lesson and I am already ten minutes late. I check my timetable, I have Gym. I rush down the hall, shouldering past the door to the gym. The coach is there reading out the names on a clipboard. I look past him and see Mercury, sighing I see the kid next to him, who it seems Mercurys already isolated.

"Yes.." Says the guy with the clipboard.

"I have Gym..." I managed to stutter.

"Alright, have a seat, change into your clothes. Where about to start" He says. I sigh taking a seat opposite the guy with turquoise eyes. I flick my shirt off, looking distastefully at the ripped six pack that lined my abdomen, disgusted. I was not proud of my body more the opposite.

I stop as coach starts to explain

Mercury:The Gym

"Listen up fella's!" The coach shouts over the chatter filling the Gym locker rooms. "Today we'll be taking in your physical measurements and a few basic tests. As we go upstairs, there will be eight stations: height, weight, hip and waist, abdomen, chest, hand strength, heart rate and jump height measurements. All of which will be used to calculate each individual student's fitness level."

Well, well, isn't this going to be fun. I mused in my head.

"Following this, we will continue on to the bleep test out on the field. Are there any questions?"
No hands were raised. And we all stood up to proceed to the upper level.

The proceedures could not be more self-explanatory, and sure enough my measurements came out fairly well... at least for me.
Height: 168 Cm. Weight: 68 Kg. Hip: 36 inches,Waist: 30 inches. Abdomen: 28 inches. Chest: 34 inches.

The strength measurements were much more interesting, for the hand strength, we had to hold a grip that held a scale above our heads and squeeze it with maximum effort. I wasn't quite sure what was considerable for my age, but I managed to rake in 43 kilos, and jump height an impressive 62 centimetres. My blood pressure was something like 63 bpm, which I was told meant my heart was quite healthy, so with that I was also pleased.

The bleep test I looked forward to, and I was certain people would be surprised by my result; they were always astonishing in physical activity. Those who trained me continuously told me that I was lucky to be born into the body I was; being the eleventh generation of a secret eugenics programme was an honour, but I had been myself, and I was greater than many others. Although I was by no means 'superhuman', I could top the scales of peak physical ability, and I was sure this test would be no different...

Brianna- Music

I took my seat next to Emily. Everyone started coming in and I didn't know any of them. At least I have Emily.

"You're so lucky," I say.
"How?"
"You can play any instrument you want."
"So?"
"All I'm good at is sports."
"But you can play any sport you--"

She was cut off by the bell. The teacher walked up to the front of the room.

"Welcome to my class! I am Mr. Sampson."

Emily

“For this first part of the class, we are going to concentrate on tone and being able to hear pitch. We are going to do some singing.” He says. “Emily could you come over to the piano?” He asks.

“Um, sure.” I say getting up. I walk over to the piano and take a seat. He hands me music and I set it up.

“I want you to play these cords and sing the alto note. We need the harmony.” He says. I nod. “Okay everyone. Try you best to pick out your notes and match.” He says. He looks at me and counts off. “One, two ready start.” he says.

I begin to play the notes and sing the harmony. I look to Brianna and roll my eyes. She tries not to laugh and I do too.
