He puts me against the and hands me the rag I place it against my head. “What's going on?” I ask him.

“Brace for impact.” he says, wrapping his arms around around me. I lay my head on his shoulder and keep my hand on my head. “Don't fall asleep.” he says, patting my back.

All of a sudden a huge wave splashes the ship. Will is forced even closer to me. I manage to put my arms around his shoulders. “Will I'm scared.”

"I'm scared, too," I said. And I actually was. This was different from Mockingbird I--it had been summer then, and although the water was cold, it was nothing compared to this. It was summer here, too, but the storm had sucked all the heat from the sea, all of it. A second wave crashed over the ship, higher than the first one, soaking me up to my shoulders. The water was freezing, cold enough to make my entire body tense up.

The ice cold water hits my skin. I feel my heart beating all over my body. I am soaking wet and my whole body shakes from the cold water. My teeth chatter like crazy. Waves splash on the deck and hit us. My knees begin to grow weak, so I hold tighter onto Will., trying to stay balanced.

Another wave crashed over the deck, soaking my jacket completely. I was so cold that I could barely breathe. I looked around, shivering violently, and realized that there wasn't anyone else outside. Where had the other passengers gone?

Then I saw a door--that's where they had gone. Inside. Inside suddenly seemed like one of the best ideas in the history of the world. "Lindsey," I said, shaking her a little. "Lindsey, we should go inside. I think it's a little warmer in there."

But Lindsey didn't reply.

"Lindsey?" I said, a little louder this time. "Lindsey!" Lindsey was out cold, completely limp.

I slumped against the wall, and then my knees buckled. I slid to the floor, barely able to support Lindsey, and then pulled my knees in tight, shivering violently. This is it, I thought. I'm going to die because this stupid ship couldn't handle some stupid hurricane. Then I looked over at Lindsey, and slumped a little more. If I had been out here alone, it would be different. But it was my job to protect the passengers, and I had failed. As long as Lindsey was outside, I had failed.

Then the door burst open, and someone ran outside--Alysha, wearing a raincoat and boots. "I can carry one person," she said.

I nodded at Lindsey. Alysha hesitated for a moment, and then pulled Lindsey up and dragged her back toward the door. I watched, to make sure she got inside safely, and then let my head fall, shaking uncontrollably.

Spoiler
Ooh, the suspense. I realize this is way too dramatic, but I couldn't resist.

All of a sudden the ship's horn blasts and I spring up and find myself in my room. I do not remember getting her. I quickly change a run out the door. As I open the door, water splashes my feet. Panic fill is my body and I run to get Will, but he is not there. I run to the top deck and see people crying and freaking out. The crew is handing out life jackets. As the give me mine, I make the effort to put it on. My hands shake uncontrolably.

Thetop deck is not at sea level. Tears floor my eyes and i begin to hysterically cry. I see Will getting on to a life boat, so i scream for him. "Will." I scream. "Will." Overwhelming emotions fill me and I cannot force myself to move.

"Lindsey. Wake up.'' He says. Then something shakes me vigorously.

***

Then I wake up. Will is there and all the passangers stare at me. I bury my face in will's soaking wet jacket. I start hyperventalating and shake even harder.

Sorry for the uber post. Back-tracking a little. Will catch up to Taylor's post.

Will

I sat outside in the rain, shaking so hard that my teeth chattered. I had completely lost track of time--the only thing I could focus on was the cold. My hands were numb, and so were my feet. And to make matters worse, the wind had picked up. Every time a gust blew by, I was hit with another spray of water.

Then a shadow fell across the deck. I looked up. Officer Halley stood in front of me, hands on his hips, feet spread for balance. "Get up," he snapped. "That's an order."

My voice was almost gone, but I managed to summon enough strength to reply. "I outrank you," I growled.

Halley smiled. "See?" he said. "You're not dead yet." He reached down toward me. I sighed, and grabbed his hand. It was almost scary how little strength I had left.

Halley pulled me up and dragged me back inside. I tried to help, but I could barely walk. Propping me up with one shoulder, Halley opened the door, and then practically tossed me inside. I stumbled a few steps, and then sat down against the wall with a thump.

Halley planted his feet firmly and tugged the door shut, locking it behind him. He took his cap off, fluffed his hair, and then turned to me. "You look like a drowned rat," he remarked.

I chuckled in spite of myself. "Gee, thanks."

Then Lindsey jerked awake, and buried her face in my jacket. She was shaking so hard that she could barely breathe.

"Lindsey," I said, looking her squarely in the eye. "Breathe slowly and deeply, or you'll hyperventilate, and that's the last thing I need right now." Thankfully, Lindsey listened, and tried to calm down. "Hey," I continued, trying to distract her. "Halley said I look like a drowned rat. What do you think?"

Then Alysha ran into the room. "Everyone below deck, now," she ordered. I jumped to my feet--or tried to, at least. My shoes, still waterlogged, slipped on the floor, and I almost dropped Lindsey. Halley pulled me up, and I pulled Lindsey up. After a long, rather meandering walk, we reached the fortified room near the engines.

"How are you feeling?" I asked Lindsey.

"Tired," she answered, leaning against me. "You?"

"Dead tired," I chuckled. Actually, I was so dizzy that I could've fallen down and slept right on the floor, but I wasn't about to say that to Lindsey.

i walked around for a couple of mins making sure the doors were locked and then i went onto the balcony and stared at the hurricane , it got closer and closer. soon it was on the front of the ship coming for the balcony..

i was in the eye of the storm now the balcony was getting weaker and was start to groan and squeak (ship and balcony groans ) (floor boards squeak) all the deck chairs flew off the deck and into the hurricane , the floaties in the pools flew out , the glass in the ships doors and windows all shattered and flew towards me , i turned around and covered my face , the glass cut my back as it flew past , i could see little bits of blood fly past me .

I frowned, noticing something different about the room. "Halley," I said. "Where's Alysha?"

Halley had to think for a moment. "I think she was making sure all the doors were locked," he replied.

"But that's our job!" I exclaimed. "She'll freeze to death! The captain's going to kill us--wait a minute. Where's the captain?!"

I lean up against Will. I would not be able to sit up with out him. I feel every breath he rake and every movement. I wish I could enjoy this moment, but no. The is a hurricane and apparently a very unattractive gash is my head. Moments later someone comes over and cleans my wound and stitches it up. The give me medicen for the pain and I cannot wait for this to kick in. "This might make you a little loopy, but it will keep you awake." He says

"Great." I say. "You might want togo really far away. I do not want to scare you off." I say to Will

"I think I will be fine." Will says. "I do not scare that easy."

"Good to know." I say.

"Good to know," Lindsey remarked, her words a little slurred.

I laughed. "See?" I said. "It's working already. And trust me, I've seen worse. You learn not to panic pretty quickly on these Mockingbird ships..."

Lindsey tilted her head sideways and studied me carefully. "You don't look like a drowned rat," she commented decisively.

"I'm going to take that as a compliment," I chuckled. I wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer. "How's your head feel now?"

A horn blares through the ship rattling every door and the ships rocks uncontrollably. I jump out of the bed.
What’s going on? My mother is suddenly in the room yelling at me and Simon to get up.
I push myself off the bed and find myself ankle deep in water.
Simon whimpers from the other side of the room and I look to my mother for some sort of explanation.
Is the ship sinking?
In another minute where up and running out of the door, small waves splashing against our shin’s as we do.
We end up on the top deck, where half the ship’s population seem to be cloistered in bunches tears of fear and panic leaking down their faces.
The crew is handing out life jackets and just as they reach us my mother begins to look frantic.
“Wait here, okay?” she says, spinning me to face her, “your father was just going to find out what exactly was going on. I’m going to go and…” she pauses looking over the deck frantically before she turns back to me with a tight lipped smile, “ find him and find out what’s going on as well. Wait here with Simon, okay? I’ll be back in a minute.”
She rushes off and disappears into the growing crowd.
Just then another girl steps forward, holding a megaphone in her hand.
“Everyone!” she yells, managing to get at least some of the people’s attention, “It will be safer for you all below deck, trust me.”
Soon enough a huge mass of people begin to head for the door leading down to the supposably ‘hurricane proof’ engine room.
The girl turns to stand by the railing and for the first time I get a proper glance at her face.
Alysha! … Or at least I think that’s what I name was…
The girl who jumped over deck and got attacked by sharks the other day…
Slowly I turn and grab Simon’s hand before heading down the crowding stairs and into the engine room.
EVERY DAY MIGHT NOT BE GOOD...
BUT THERE IS SOMETHING GOOD IN EVERY DAY.

Don't be sorry your darkness is gone. I'll carry it for you.
Always. I'll keep it with mine.

Gotta catch em all!

I pat the top of my head and start to freak out. I put other of my hands on Will's face. "I have lost my head. I can't feel it." I say about to start crying. "Will how am I going to live with out my head. It is kind of important."

He let's out a laugh and smiles. "Lindsey your head is still there, I promise."

"Oh thank goodness." I say. "I was getting a little worried there." I say. I pat his face with my hand and the put them in my lap.

the balcony spun around and around and i started to feel dizzy , i got cut from bits of glass that were flying around in the opposite direction , then all of a sudden the balcony was flund out , it smashed straight through the room just before the engine room , it left a hole in the wall for me to climb through , the ship groaned really loudly when it hit the wall, i went to the door , and opened it and walked in and pulled it closed behind me , i said " is everyone all right? " , the storm will be over soon , the hurricane is right above us now , will leaned over and wispered in ,my ear "where is the captain?" , i went and sat with them and said , "i dont know , i saw him holding onto the railing for dear life then the balcony snapped from another boat hitting it and then yeah i fear he may be dead", with that i got up and opened the door to have a look out , will leaned over and saw something in the wall and he asked "is that the balcony?" i had to reply "yuup thats how i got down here so fast!" i smiled a little and walked out the door , just before it shut i poked my head in and said "lock it i will come back down when i get us out of this hurricane, will got up and locked it , i walked over and kicked the balcony and it fell into the water then i ran up all the stairs to the control room and unlocked the door and walked in , i started the ship and pressed a button that pulled all the anchors in and then i put the ship in full speed , then i started to steer the ship , the ship groaned as it moved forwards , it was hard to control it when the hurricane was almost picking up the back end which was like 400 tonnes , the ship started gaining speed and we were out of the storm within 15 mins , i went to the repair room which the engineer people stayed in and asked the to quickly fix the whole in the wall down in the room infront of the engine room , then i went back up and turned the ship off and put all anchors in , i found my father and got him to bed and told him " stay in bed" then i went and put out new deck chairs and turned on the auto cleaner to clean the pools then i went and found the window shop and asked them to replace all the windows and told them " i will pay you later" then i walked down to the engine room and unlocked it , and let everyone out , and said "resume your stay on the ship and have a happy holiday , i roped off the area where the engineers were working then i went back up and told the cleaners to clean up , fast , the floors were soaked still , so i turned on the vacum which was under neath all the floors which sucked all the water up , then i put on the heater to dry the floors.
