Ronan

Kei dives into the lake and has me follow him in, wanting to unwind and have some fun. I wade in, watching him, and try and capture the smile on his face for the next time. Taking of the position of his playmate, I chase after him and have a water war with him like he wanted.

Once the sun begins to set, I head back to shore and look at the horizon. I pull my knees to my chest and wrap my arms around them, reflecting on what's happened. Gemini and some others discuss what to do next and I leave them to decide, not wanting to make any big decisions for anyone more than Kei and I. Images flash through my mind and my mood worsens, depressing me.

Things aren't about to get any easier.

I foresee agony and loss and try to bury the visions for later analyzing.

Dark falls and I call Kei out of the water, throwing my jacket over him to counteract the cold from his soaking clothes. We walk back to the bag and, like most of the others do, lay down. I hold Kei close as he falls asleep, looking up at the stars, but have no intention of sleeping myself. We aren't safe still, I know that and force myself to take the unspoken first watch.

So much for a bright future...

Sooth

Two guards ushered me into the room, the shutters mostly closed. Facing me across the desk was the man I knew to be the president of the united states of america... a pudgy man, face worn with the position of his office.
"I understand you're Sooth," he said. "A powerful man amongst the mutants."
"I was," I said, already going heavy on the power. My rage still burned, but it was tempered by my goal. The extermination of all mutants. They lied to me, tried to kill me... no more. No more. "Until they betrayed me. I understand why you locked us up... but now we must take the next step and exterminate them."
The president shifted uncomfortably.
"Sounds an awful lot like Hitler," he muttered. "And that didn't end well."
"Understandable," I replied, smoothly. "But these mutants are a plague... how long do you think it'll take them to rise up against us? I've seen their power, their desire to control everything... it's deadly. It must be stopped"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I walked through what had been my camp, two government guards walking beside me, uncomfortably clutching their machine guns. Helicopters buzzed in the air, raining down hellfire on the few remaining camps, tanks and cars buzzing around, tracking down those mutants that had escaped. The holocaust was nearly complete.
So this was what was left of it... nothing. No mutants, just bodies.
"Sir," said a third guard, running up to me. I had been made general in the army after my reunion with the president. "We found activity by the lake, but no solid traces."
"Keep searching," I commanded.
Ronan:
Pain and agony flash through my mind again before I shake my head and try to focus on what Gemini is saying to the leader of the other group. Instead, I end up scanning over the rest of the mutants, distracting myself by trying to guess what they can do. I miss Kei. It's weird not having my little brother at my side, though I know he's in good hands for the moment and that I'm needed here.
Not that I'm much help...
Stupid visions. Crippling my mind and making me dead weight.
We stand on the edge of a cliff overlooking a field of green, a new group of mutants around us. The leader and Gemini are just getting to an agreement when a shot echoes through the air and tears through the image of Gemini. My heart leaps in my throat and I snap back to reality before remembering what's really happening.
"Fall back!" Someone yells, my mind too scrambled to recognize the voice, "Ronan and Ross - cover the flanks! Lacie - lead the way!"
Chaos. Utter chaos.
I wake up from whatever trance I'm under and bolt into action, focusing. My hearing disappears and everything slows down, the images coming back at full speed. I come to a halt and glance around, the symbols from the future playing out in the fabric of reality. My mind shoots ahead and Sooth's dark eyes appear in front of me.
Shrieking like a child, I fall backwards and come to my senses. I stand and hide my embarrassment but concentrating on getting everyone out safely.
Faster we do this, faster we get out of this mess and I won't have to worry about having these moments in public. Faster I get back to my little brother...
I keep to the left flank as we're herding the small group out and Ross keeps to the right. It sucks that I still feel like an outsider among these people, even if we're all the same.
Gemini Lazarus
The shot rings out and I'm startled by this, my hologram disappear's and the order to retreat is given. Such predictable government, I had gone his idea and now I turn out right. This was an assassination attempt not a treaty signing, I knew the government would never negotiable with mutant's. They were so damn predictable, Kei is behind me with some toy's, crayon's drawing paper, and other stuff to keep him busy. Me and him were far away and I watched the event's unfold from a laptop that was hooked up to a satatilte that gave me the eagle eye of the field. I look around for the assassin and soon find him far off to the right proped up so he could shoot my hologram perfectly. Again to bad they were to predictable. The government side is dazed and confused by what is going on and before anything else can happen, the mutant's are gone. My cell phone ring's and see it's Lacie I pick up.
"Status report!" I tell her.
"Everyone's alright, but you were right it was an assassination attepemt." She yells over the background noise.
"Return home ASAP, we need to plan out our next move and go underground." I told her.
Gemini had told me that Ronan went on a mission, but I smiled innocently. It was okay with me. Gemini watched something on the laptop, answering her phone, and talking to whoever. I looked at my paper and crayons. I had drew the final battle.
I drew this at school so here we go: http://prntscr.com/9e60p
I giggled. I stood up and waddled over to Gemini, disorientated from sitting a long time. I tugged on her shirt, trying to get her attention. She looked down at me, and I showed her my drawing. "Look what I draw!" I giggle.
We ran through everything, why did I have to lead? I used vines to guide me toward Gem, I got lost in the middle of it and pulled on my hair frustrated. Everyone kept screaming and I swallowed.
They had to put me in-charge?
I took out my phone, calling her.
"Status Report!" She said, as soon as she answered.
I breathed. "Everyones alright but your right, It was an assasination attempt." I said over the noise.
"Return home ASAP, we need to plan out our next move and go underground." She says, then hangs up. I sigh and clap and whistle, everyone turning to me.
"Alright, We're heading underground. I'll lead us home, then Gem will take us from there." I say, "Just stay calm. Nature is on our side."
Vines led me back to the lake and I searched around for Gem.
ItalianIlluminist has handed over control of Sooth. Until I hear otherwise, I will be making all Sooth posts.
Sooth
My jaw tightens and both my hands clench into fists, slamming one against the desk. The monitor shakes a little, the picture flickering, and I take a deep breath to calm down.
Got away? They got away?
I stand, having regained my resolve, and stroll out of the military-styled tent. A jeep is waiting for me there. I slide into the passenger seat and the jeep pulls away. The scene replays in my head as we make our arrival to the most recently discovered mutant camp. The platoons of soldiers I'd brought file out of their own vehicles and surround the place, gunshots and screams heard in the distance.
After it dies down, I make my way though the camp and examine the job well done. Not a soul left living.
Pity.
I look up to the sky and take a deep breath, the hint of a smile tracing my lips.
I will find you and your little army, Lazarus. Once I do, I will rip each of them from the clutches of life in front of you to remind you of the wrong you did when crossing me. I will save you for last, scarred after watching all your allies bleed to death before you, and then I will slowly carve out your heart.
You will die at my hands, Gemini Lazarus. Your friends are only the beginning.
Welcome to the largest decimation this world will ever known.
"Lacie," I took her shoulder. "Take a rest. You look exhausted."
She gave me a harassed look and pulled away. "Leave me. I'm fine."
"Don't worry—we'll get through this. Just don't overdo it, okay?"
Lizzy caught up with us and gazed at Lacie reverentially. "You're going to do all right, Lacie," she said. "Don't give up."
This brought a weak smile to Lacie's face. She and Lizzy had taken to each other immediately. A stray vine curled around Lizzy's neck and tickled her chin.
"I can't find Gem," Lacie unburdened herself. "I don't know what— how— where! I don't know what I'm doing!"
"We're taking a rest here!" I called. "Sit down while you can!"
"Don't patronise me," Lacie snapped, but it lacked energy.
"Let's sit down and think this through." I moved closer and took her hands, secretly diffusing some of her stress and donating my energy through her skin. "Maybe sh—"
A sword edge appeared at Lizzy's neck from the shadows.
"Don't move." Gem's voice.
"Are you going to ask a security question?" Lacie asked calmly. I was too shocked to move. It could have been anyone. Lizzy could have died so easily. Like the other mutants back at the— I wrenched my thoughts back to the present, with Lacie answering the question.
"It says, 'Never back down,take on the world no matter how—" Lacie's voice broke at this stage, "—how hard it may be."
How hard we had become to meet this challenge.
"Good." Gem removed the blade of her two-handed sword and revealed herself. "We must hurry. We have no time to waste."
I see Gem and I sigh in relief. "THANK GOD." I breathed, dropping to the ground and bringing my hand to my forehead.
"Please, Gem. Don't ever put that much on me again..." I muttered.
She chuckles and I glare at her, Sighing.
Everyone came back and tears came in my eyes. Where was Ronan. You promised Ronan! You promised you would come back! I thought angrily, screaming in my head. I kept a calm face on the outside, but I shook from the effort. "Ronan," I whispered. Everyone acted normal, and that made me mad a little. Ronan was missing, and they acted as if he was there. I shook my head trying to clear my mind.
I took a deep breathe, calming down my racing heart. I didn't want to pass out again. I closed my eyes and opened them again. I saw Ronan look for me, and he was covered in blood and mud. I took a step back shocked. "Ronan," I asked softly, not believing he could be wounded easily.
I fell to my knees hugging myself. Nothing made sense anymore. Everything changed since the lake, and I seemed to be the only unchanged one.
Ronan had started to become more and more solitude, slowly slipping into his mind a lot. Gemini had took control and led us, acting more leaderly. Lacie spent more time with Atarin and Lizzie. Roe acted like a nurse, trying to keep us all safe. Sol was acting like a supplier. Ingrid had opened up to everyone and became more social.
Spoiler
I hope this is good enough or I didn't miss anyone who is alive.
Ronan saw me, and looked like he was gonna come over but blinked. Something shifted around him and he walked off towards Gemini and I sighed.
Ronan
Unsure of what happened, I follow the others, obsessed with the signs written in the fabric of reality around me. We reach Gemini and my former self reminds me to look for Kei, in desperate protection mode.
I made a promise.. Have to keep that promise.. Have to...
I spot him on the ground hugging himself before another image or two flash before my eyes, leaving me without a clue as to what I'm doing. Gemini comes into my line of sight and my anxiety builds, the vision beginning to make sense. I turn towards her and wait for the crowd around to disperse so I may get a moment alone to explain, hoping that the desperate look in my eyes said it all.
I struggled to my feet, collapsing again. A sharp pain in my arm made me gasp of pain. A memory of when Sooth found us, and breaking my arm came back. I struggled back to my feet. I took a step forward and I gasped. I fell to my knees, feeling as if someone shoved me to my knees.
I nearly broke down. I kept my other ability secret from Ronan. Aside from Controlling Blood, like Ronan, I had a small physic ability. I could feel pain from the future, unlike Ronan who sees it. He doesn't feel or any other sense, but see. I, on the otherhand, feel and hear it. This was what happened in the camp.
I struggled to my feet, and felt like a bullet ripped into my chest. I slid backwards, a small cloud of dust around me. I gritted my teeth, to prevent myself from screaming. It felt like warm liquid, blood, was staining my shirt. A faded voice reached me, and it took me a minute to realize who it was. "Ronan!" it screamed. It was me. Ronan was going to die.
I thought about going to tell him, but didn't want him to know about the power. I stood up and calmed myself down. I took a step forward, and started feeling better. Ronan, please don't die. I don't know what I will do without you, I think. I find him talking with Gemini and I climb and sit on his back.
Everything was so twisted. I'd noticed Lacie's exhaustion, but I felt tied and unable to do anything. I was trying to make sure no one got left behind as she led the way. I was glad, of course, that she had Atarin, and relieved that he was patronising her. Even if she didn't like it.
Atarin finally called a halt, and I dropped down next to Ross. The big guy looked down at me and smiled. "Tired?" he asked. "Very. And you?" "I'm super strong, remember?" I laughed at that, and said,"You can't expect me to believe you never get tired." "Frankly, you're the first on to think that I do." Both of us laughed, a little relieved.
Gem and Lacie were on my other side, and I turned to them."Where next Gem?" I asked our steadfast leader.
"Married to music - 'nuff said."
"Freedom is everything to me."
I come on out of my hiding spot as other's made there escape, as they made it back. I asked my security question since it's very high on my list, I walk some ways away and then turn seeing an urgent look on Ronan's face but Sol soon catch's my attention with her question to me.
"Our next move would be best to head underground becomes anonymous for awhile. Maybe fit in, in Chicago and avoid authories so were not found out. We could use my old home maybe." I tell her.
Ronan is in front of me now holding my arm pulling on it, I could tell this was bad, very bad.
Before I can speak with Gemini, Sol asks where we were supposed to go next. I try and be patient, but can't stand the visions so fresh in my mind. Kei comes out of nowhere and climbs onto my back, giggling at me. I smile and glance back at him before being reminded of what I'm doing and looking back at Gemini. I'm holding onto her arm now, gently tugging on it to show my urgency. When did I become such a child?
She turns to me and I swallow, stopping my impatient actions and leading her to the side. I remove Kei from my back and hold him in the front, needing something to do with my arms as I explain. I don't want him listening, but can't bear to wait any longer.
"You know how you said Chicago?" I ask, my voice rushed and slightly whisper-like, "Yeah, no. Something's going to happen there and we can't be there when it does. W-we can't. There's not enough time to prevent it or to help those involved. We can't go though. We can't. I-I'm trying to focus on where we can, but keep getting can'ts instead. Just not Chicago...or New York...or most of the big cities basically..."
I stop myself, realizing how I'd ended up babbling, and glance at Kei before looking back at Gemini. My face burns slightly red with the embarrassment of going so far, but a burden feels lifted off my shoulders from getting it all out.
I had been especially quiet since we left the pond, trying my bestto keep everyone calm. It was working pretty well, if I did say so myself. But now, as the others tried to decide where to go next, I felt like I had to speak up. I stood up and walked over to Gem, Sol, and Ronan. "If we can't go to a city, we should go somewhere rural. You're all welcome at my place. I have a family farm about a day's walk from here." I went back to my seat next to Ingrid. "I can't wait to see my baby again. I wonder how much he's grown."
Ingrid squealed. "OOh, we're going to meet your family?"
I smiled. "Maybe. We'll see if these guys decide to go that way or not," I said, gesturing to the standing people.
