Ingrid:

Roe tensed, noticing that her family wasn't there. Clasping her hand, I squeezed it tight, and streamed good thoughts and memories to her.

She looked down at me, giving me a weak smile.

Returning her smile, I kissed her hand and let go. I was about to do something i'd never done before, for Roe.

Walking out the door, I placed my hands on the door frame. Closing my eyes, I concentrated, working hard on soaking up the memories in the house.

I felt a gasp escape my mouth as memories came. Everything that happened in this house flashed before me. I picked and searched, looking for Roe's family. For how and when they left.

My breath became short, and I shut my eyes tighter. I needed to find it. I could do it.

A hand came down on my shoulder, and my eyes fluttered open. Staggering a bit, I let out a breath, exhausted. The hand belonged to the guy who had been talkng to Roe.

Looking up at him, I whispered, "...what did you do?"

The colors were so vibrant, so relaxing. I felt like I was in a movie. It was always places like this that confused me. No other place could make you feel so safe and comfortable, but at the same time, increase the paranoid feeling that something horrible was about to happen. Roe's house was out of the way, and the colors of the country stretched throughout the entire land. All in all, I was in awe of the brillance that surrounded me. I was one of the later mutants to join this journey, so friends, at this point were nearly nonexistant. I tilted my head back, letting the slight breeze ruffle my hair, sending chills down my body.

I couldn't help but wonder how this would turn out. In no way was I expecting this to be easy. So I decided to let my guard partially down while I figured it would be the safest place we would come to in a long while. Maybe it wasn't the best plan out there, but the relaxing nature of the place refused to let me keep completely alert. I told myself, at any certain sudden movement, that wall would come crashing down around me once more, guarding me from the outside.

I smiled at Roe. "Your family has told me a lot about you. I just started working for them, and I'm also a mutant," I say.

Kei

"Horsie!" I scream giggling. I climb up the horse and sit on it before it starts running around. I giggle louder.

I smile at Kei and follow him, watching as he climbs atop a horse and rides it around. His giggles fill the air, though I know they won't last. I keep my mind from rushing ahead and focus on him instead, something I've neglected recently. Sighing, I lean against the fence and cross my arms, wondering if he'd even heard my apology.

As I'm riding the horse, a tingling sensation went down my spine. I looked around seeing I was in the middle of the battlefield. Kris stood in front of a beaten and bruised Gemini. I reached out my hand screaming, but it was useless. Inside a vision, I was just a spectator. Kris plunged his sword deep into Gemini's chest and blood splattered everyone. I screamed stepping back.

Ronan was being overpowered by Sooth, and I was no where in sight. I watched Sooth cut Ronan down and I screamed. I snapped back to reality, where I was actually screaming, and fell of the horse.

Something's wrong.

Kei's stature tenses as he rides the horse and his face becomes ashen and spacey. I leave my spot and head towards him just before he starts screaming. Worried, I break into a sprint and get there just after he hits the ground from falling off. I drop at his side and check him over for injury, then look around for the source of his fright.

"What happened?" I ask, pulling him into a hug, "What's wrong?"

I open my eyes seeing Ronan.

"What happened?" he asks, "What's wrong?"

"I-I-I-I have visions like you do. Like the time at the cafeteria in the lunch room. I keep seeing you getting killed. Just now, I saw Sooth kill you, that guy Kris kill Gem, and I was overcome with bloodlust," I admit.

I pale as he tells me he sees like I do, holding him closer. Taking it all in, I glance back at the others, who are looking at us in worry and caution. My eyes set on Gemini and then the Kris guy. I turn back around and focus on my little brother, hugging him.

Remembering what he said about me, I stiffen a bit and tense a little more. He's seen my death? More than once? Why didn't he tell me? No child should see that and keep it to themselves... Especially not my Kei.

"It's okay, Kei," I whisper, "We'll find a way around all of that. I promise. We're all going to be just fine."

"Ronan..." I start but I stop myself. I couldn't tell him the worst of it.

"Kei, tell me. You shouldn't hold this stuff in.Just tell me," he says.

"I'm the one who kills you first," I whisper before blacking out.

Something was wrong, really wrong. It was far to quiet here and with the appearence of this new guy only made things worse in my mind, I decided, I walk up behind the guy as Roe had his attention. Getting my sword out of its roll, I grabbed him roughly my blade close in to his neck.

"Don't move, who are you working for?" I ask in a threatening tone.

"None of your business." He said.

He kicks me in the shin, my sword around his throut drops and suddenly he's on top of me his blade handing over my head when someone else from behind grabs him.

"Roe." I think.

I get up quickly as she has him by his shoulders, just as I'm about to bring my blade down on his chest my entire body stops and I'm unable to move.

"What the, hell." I somehow mutter.

He grins devilishly as he gets Roe off of him, he has his sword again and is about to slit my thourt when someone else charges into him. Breaking his grip over me and pushing his sword away from my neck.

Lacie

No.

All the violence, I couldn't take it. I hid behind Atarin, holding his hand tightly, and suddenly feel like I'm going to faint. I hear the guy that was holding Gem get pushed back so I decide to help just a little bit. I summon as much vines as I can and wrap them around the guys torso, keeping him in place.

There's not much I can do. I feel like a lost child who's looking for their mommy..Ugh. Stupid, Lacie, stupid.

Hope

~ Hope ran through the forest, not bothering to cover up any tracks or avoid breaking branches or trees. Onee-chan had covered their escape, now Hope could be as scared as she wanted to be. Onee-chan had told her to let the fear fuel their run, and she did. She didn't need to be told that. She kept running until she was well into a field of wheat. She stopped, confused by the sudden change in terrain.

All she could see around her was wheat that made waves in the wind like an golden ocean. She squealed with delight and rolled around in it, the color unlike any she had seen before. Her world had just been shades of gray and red from the moment she was born. She was about to let her wings out when she heard voices. She looked up to see in the distance a house, with a crowd of people around it.

"Onee-chan. . ." She said frightened,

"Shh, it's ok. Get down in the wheat and crouch. Like a lion. Remember when I told you about the lions?"

"Yah, like a lion, next you can leap around like a gazelle and shout like an elephant. I'm rolling my eyes."

Elizabeth turned to Claudia "Shut the heck up Claudia. She's a child."

"We're all children you idiot. It's not my fault she's retarded."

Elizabeth turned on her completely "Get! Crawl back into the hole you came from."

Claudia smiled "You know where I came from Gabriel," She started to retreat into the back of their mind "Just don't get us killed"

Claudia sighed, her head in her hands. Claudia was getting stronger and stronger.

"Onee-chan?" Hope whispered scared, still watching the group "Is the Bad one gone?"

"Yes, yes, don't worry sis." She smiled "Now, let’s see what's going on."

Hope looked and saw vines wrap around one of the guys.

"What's that Onee-chan?"

Oh no, she though "Sweetie? Listen, those people are not good, ok? just stay down until they leave."

Hope nodded. She looked closer, and saw the man in the vines had a knife. Immediately she let out a scream.

"Sweetie, sweetie, It's ok, he's far away," Elizabeth said, barely containing her own fear. She could feel Claudia's fury in the back of their mind, but she kept her at bay. Hope didn't need this.

Hope quickly covered her mouth with her hands, but it was too late. Someone's head turned.

Kris

The sudden attack on me confused me.

"What's your problem!" I shout.

"I don't trust you," Gemini told me. One of the girls summoned vines to tie me up. I flicked my wrist, and a dagger slid out my sleeve cutting the vines.

"I'm not your enemy!" I shout. I noticed Ronan come up with Kei in his arms. So this is the one Sooth wants. Wait till we get to the next town, where I will test him I plot. Ronan saw me look at Kei and tried to hide him.

"Gem, let's just keep an eye on him," Ronan told Gemini.

Roe

Fire that I didn't know existed was burning inside me. "What did you do to my family?" I asked. Kris was confused. That was good, I could use that. I added a little fear to his mix of emotions and amplified the confusion to force him into submission. Fueled by anger, I didn't allow sadness to get to me this time. I hated that this had to get violent, but Kris was only going to keep lying to us otherwise. I pushed as much courage as I could muster onto my friends.

Atarin

I pushed Lacie and Lizzy backwards out of the agitated crowd of mutants centralising around Kris. As we reached the outer edge of the throng, I heard a scream from the windswept wheat fields. We exchanged a glance. The rest of the mutants were all occupied with Kris. A sudden warm glow of courage lit up my mind, and I could see that Lacie and Lizzy were also affected. It had to be Roe, manipulating our minds. While the feeling lasted, I pulled my knife out of my boot.
"I'm going in."
Lacie grabbed my arm. "Atarin, what if we are surrounded?"
"Then we fight."
"I'm coming with you."
Lizzy attached herself to my jacket with a yelp. "Don't leave me here!"
I sighed, but both their eyes glittered with Roe's emotion. "Then take this." I pressed the knife into Lacie's palm and closed her fingers around the handle. Lizzy armed herself with her own knife, which I knew she could use. It still worried me, though. I pulled out my lighter and held it up. "I'm going to burn a ring of wheat, okay? As it closes, we approach—slowly."
