Ingrid:
Roe tensed, noticing that her family wasn't there. Clasping her hand, I squeezed it tight, and streamed good thoughts and memories to her.
She looked down at me, giving me a weak smile.
Returning her smile, I kissed her hand and let go. I was about to do something i'd never done before, for Roe.
Walking out the door, I placed my hands on the door frame. Closing my eyes, I concentrated, working hard on soaking up the memories in the house.
I felt a gasp escape my mouth as memories came. Everything that happened in this house flashed before me. I picked and searched, looking for Roe's family. For how and when they left.
My breath became short, and I shut my eyes tighter. I needed to find it. I could do it.
A hand came down on my shoulder, and my eyes fluttered open. Staggering a bit, I let out a breath, exhausted. The hand belonged to the guy who had been talkng to Roe.
Looking up at him, I whispered, "...what did you do?"
