Fidelis

Dawn's power overtook me, so I had to extend my nap to a sleep. When I rose with the stars and moon, Allan wasn't in my arms and a blood-stained note was in my hand. Just by the scent, I knew it was Allan's blood. I unfolded the note and noticed the words were written in red ink. What the note said shattered my heart and cut me to countless pieces.
Fidelis,
Understand that, as I'm writing this, my own heart is shattering to pieces. I love you and I know that you have the same feelings, which makes this ten times harder than it should be. I'm doing this for you, for everyone's best interest.
I see the conflict going on inside your head every time I look you in the eyes. Between me and her. That's your choice. You knew it the moment you realized she was trying to court you, the moment you decided to let her stay.
I don't want such a hard decision in your hands. I don't want you to think you have to choose. I don't want that at all. I always thought that love was what made such decisions, but I now know that some love just isn't strong enough.
There was one thing I never told you. My Dad, Phillip, isn't my biological father. No, my true father had to make a similar choice after I was born. You can see what he chose.
Because I love you, I'm making this easier for the both of us. There's happiness possible between you two. If I stayed, there would be jealousy and repeats of the fight that almost happened when we first stumbled across her. I don't want the tension, the conflict. You don't deserve that.
By the time you finish reading this, I will be out of your hair and out of the way of the opportunity in front of you. We will heal, even if it takes centuries to do so, and will eventually find the peace and safety we once shared in another.
I ask you not to search me out. It will only hurt worse to have to tell you in person that I will not be returning. Maybe, given time, we could meet again and allow a friendship to mend what we lost.
You know in your heart that this is the way to go. Deep down, I know that you do. That's why I couldn't let you stop me, had to make it easier.
I hope you understand.
Your new generation,
Allan

I read the note thrice over, hoping to find a clue to where he went. There wasn't even the smallest clue at all. The note wasn't just an apology, but a farewell. He left me and I was foolish to believe he wouldn't leave even after I told him how much it would hurt me. My new generation, the second one I made in my eternal lifetime, was the first live one to leave me. I began shedding rivers of blood from my eyes as I crumbled the note in my hands. He left me. He waited until I was napping and left me with a farewell note. I wanted to find him and plead him to come home with me, but I was too broken to even leave my bed. I wept as I sat there, broken from Allan's absence.
Look down and show some mercy if you can.

I awoke from a days sleep as the star's and moon were in the sky, I awoke to what I never thought I would hear. Cries and sobs from Fidelis as he shed bloody tear's, I didn't bothered to ask what he was crying about so I took the note he had in his hand and read it over, Alan Fidelis' loved one had bolted from his grip. I did something I shouldn't have done and would probably be kicking myself later for it.

"You want me to track him down and capture him?" I asked in a soft voice.

He looks up at me and I see a mixture of three thing's, despair, sadness, and uncertainness. Not good, I would definitly be kicking myself in the arse later.

"You want me to find him and bring him back?" I word in a different way, knowing he may not like the world "capture".

Even without prying her mind, I knew she felt at fault for Allan's departure from me. Nonetheless, even with a broken heart I had to respect his last request of me. "Don't. Let him be. Sooner or later, he'll come home on his own accord. For now, just let him be." I forced myself out of bed and dragged myself to the bath, shutting the door until it was a crack opened. After taking off my soiled clothes, I went in the bath and sank under the water, blood shedding out of my closed eyes. I still couldn't believe that he left me, after all we've been through together and would've been together for five months if he waited just one more week. He was my second new generation, the first live one I had in so many centuries.

I curse to myself silently and allow Fidelis alone time, I go to the living room and see they prey gone. I curse myself again for not goin my way and just tying them up like I should have done, I go back near the washroom and knock on the door gently.

"I'm going out to find more prey for the both of us." I said.

I didn't get any sort of response but I'm sure he wouldn't mind, I went out the door and realize I needed new cloths. I made a note to get something new soon. But for now I got in the car and started it up and sped off looking for new prey.

When I emerged from the water, I noticed the water itself was red. I knew why. Even with closed eyelids, I was crying so much it was hard to at least settle down. I still wanted Allan to hold me once more. The part of me that was broken longed for the comfort of his embrace, the taste of his kiss on my lips, the loving tone of his voice. He had my heart in his hands and shattered it with a farewell written in red ink. The blood on the note told me he was crying when he wrote it, like it hurt him to leave a farewell behind even though it would cost us both our hearts. I still wanted him home. Without him, the apartment just wasn't home to me. I've done so much good to him, yet he left me when I needed him to stay. I was more than willing to share, but he left without giving me the chance to tell him that.
I went to my room and found my wardrobe. Hidden behind my modern clothes was my old outfit that made me embrace my Egyptain heritage. It was a long white sleeveless shirt that appeared as a nightgown to most. The gold neckband was still intact and the shirt's royal blue cape was like time never tarnished it. I put all this one and looked at myself in the mirror. After all this time, I finally had the nerve to put the outfit on. It was the same one I wore the night my sisters were killed and I was turned against my will. It was five millennia and two years today since I was turned at Allan's age. I went to the couch and sat there, bored and rather hungry.

I wake from uncontiousness, my rist throughly sore, and yawn, seeing another person in my apartment. I jump, afraid. "What the..." I remember him, the guy that I saw that day. I pushed my blonde bangs from my face and took a better look at him. He looked sad and broken. I swallowed, not sure what to do, and took a step back.

I wake and find the girl up and afraid, watching me. I wipe all emotion from my eyes and look up at her, studying her as I think of what to say.

"Don't fear me," I tell her, "I couldn't bring myself to hurt anyone."

But I hurt Fidelis...

"Y-You're my bloodslave now," I say, "You know what I am. We're bound together. I was brought up well, taught well; you don't need to be afraid or worry. You're free, in most aspects. I won't confine you to this place, but you'll be safer if you stay with me."

I pause, collecting the rest of my thoughts.

"I will take care of you, I promise that."

I slowly nod, swallowing. "W-What's your name?" I ask, shaking.

I knew he was a vampire...but... bloodslave? I studied him. He looked like he was unsure of what to say. Was he nervous? I swallowed again and hesitantly stood up, looking at him.

She looks afraid and seems to have noticed my anxiety. This is my first time away from Fidelis and with another person in a week shy of five months. This is my first conversation with someone else.

"Allan," I tell her, trying to calm the both of us down, "And yours?"

He told me his name and it seemed he was trying to calm me down. I flashed a weak smile and let my british accent show.

"Bella." I say, "My name's Bella."

Bella. I nod before standing.

"How about we go into town?" I suggest, cautiously taking a step towards her, "Get what you'll need for groceries and anything else. I'd prefer to have another change of clothes... What say you?"

I nod as he takes a step towards me and I grab my credit card, slipping it in my back shorts pocket and grabbing a couple twenties. I put my hair in a ponytail before I walk out, leading Allan into the town, passing other apartments.

I tried not to shed more blood as I sat there alone. I wanted Allan to hold me now, since this was the night I lost my sisters and was given my immortality against my will. The minutes without him felt like years without someone to fall into and piece me back together. I went to my pottery room and began to create what I could in hopes of passing the time. I couldn't think of what to make out of the clay before me. I was losing the spark that I once had, but I knew I already lost it before I ever came in. Not only did Allan leave me with my heart in pieces, he left me with the spark of creativity put out. I had to face it. I was too broken to work with clay. I cleansed my hands completely of the clay and went to my room. I took a piece of paper and some blue ink, carefully writing with a quil.
Allan,
I wish you were here to hold me. Tonight marks the night I turn 5020 years old. It's been 5002 years tonight since I became a vampire, but also the night I watched my sister die by the hands of the vampire who turned me. If only you'd stay to hold me as I mourn the loss of my beloved sisters. Every year on this very night, I shed blood because I felt at fault for not protecting my sisters like a true brother should. It pains me to know you had to leave and it'll take centuries for my heart to heal. You may be my second new generation, but you were the first in eternity to leave me. I wish you didn't leave. Without you, this apartment just isn't home anymore.
Fidelis

I sent the note to the wind, hoping the gods would deliver it to Allan, where ever he might be.

I grab the guy by his gun arm and put my foot to his chest as I used his momentum to toss him over me into a door that was now broken down. I go over to the guy and cores his face and then punch him in his forehead his head bounces off the door like a basketball and then passes out. I look into the appartment and couldn't believe my luck, Alan and some other girl was there, possibly a pray.

"Well, well, well, look at what I found here. Not only pray but a runaway second generation." I said with a smirk.

Bella leads me down the street, the night thick and upon us. A folded piece of paper floats by in the wind but before I can grab it, the vampiress shows up. I swallow and look at her, reminded of what I'd done and the pain I know both Fidelis and I are sharing.

"Well, well, well, look at what I found here. Not only pray but a runaway second generation." She says, smirking.

I subconsciously place Bella behind me and try to contain my emotions.

"You should be happy," I tell the vampiress, "You can have what you want now."

The day, which was one of the first of spring, cheered even me by the loveliness of its sunshine and the balminess of the air. I felt emotions of gentleness and pleasure, that had long appeared dead, revive within me. Half surprised by the novelty of these sensations, I allowed myself to be borne away by them, and forgetting my solitude and deformity, dared to be happy.
