The World: Pluto Kiss
Plot:
The World, a fictional MMORPG published and maintained by the CC Corporation (Cyber Connect Corporation). Players interact with The World using virtual reality headsets called FMDs (Face-mounted display) and a gamepad. It is the creation of German programmer Harald Hoerwick, who creates the first version, "Fragment", to help create his virtual daughter, Aura.
The World consists of a cluster of servers distributed around the world. When players log in, they materialize in the Root Town of the server they last used. Each server in The World has its own unique Root Town. They are the starting and ending point of any gaming session. In order to properly log out of the game, the player must be in a Root Town. Each Root Town has a Chaos Gate, a large revolving ring used to transport players to areas or other servers. To transport to an Area, a series of three keywords must be entered. These keywords determine such parameters as difficulty, terrain, and weather, amongst other habitat. Most keyword combinations result in an area with a field and a dungeon.
In the game's 'Real World', Pluto's Kiss, a virus, caused a simultaneous crash of all computers and network control systems on the Internet that did not run on the ALTIMIT OS, which subsequently became the dominant operating system worldwide.

Getting an email, you're thrilled to discover that the result of a school contest has won you the most famous game to hit the market; "The world. From every country, people line up to purchase a game that is slowly being sold out across the entire face of the Earth. Filled with quests, monsters and other activities, "The World" is on everyone's hot list as the top thing to bug. Though, as you soon find out, not only are the monsters after you, other characters (Noob Slayers) hunt new players near the root towns waiting for their prize.
Information:
An ancient artefact of great power has once again been brought into "The World". Treasure hunters, Bounty Hunters, ordinary player and Guild's are on the look out for this so called aretfact which has divine power in the game. The two guilds that are ahead in this search are the Minotuars Guild and The Eclipse Hunters. Both of these guilds are known across the game, though not for the best of reasons.
Minotuars Guild:

Run by Calbb, a vicious minotaur, the guild pushes around anyone that gets in their way. Their one goal is to find the artefact and rein supreme over the game. Calbb was once a member of The Eclipse Hunters, though was banished for his unjust ways of killing. Though "The World" is but a game, Calbb takes it seriously placing all his time and effort into it. The guild is one of the largest in the game known around for its size. It is also the most feared.
The Eclipse Hunters:

Olaf, is the leader of the guild, known for hacking into the system and supposedly cheating. Because his arm is made of steal, Olaf is one of the strongest players in the guild. Though, the guild is short in numbers they have strong purposes. They possess a clue to finding the artefact, a small part of a map outlined by the overseers. Though, it is only the end part and they still have to find the rest to figure it out.

So powerful, it is believed that the aretfact can send both "The World" and "Earth" into a deep eclipse, killing anything that has a pulse. Only able to be used in the computer, the aretfact feeds off of data slowly killing the things around it. It is the most powerful weapon in the game and gives any who wears it ultimate power. The supposed Overseers were the ones to have created such a weapon through the main data stream, something deemed impossible.
