Peter~(Ravenclaw)

"Any questions?"

Before anyone could answer a knock at the door turned every one's attentions and it burst open to reveal the scraggly appearance of a young wizard who looked about there age. His black hair was tousled and gave him the appearance of someone who'd just left bed. His pajama's were dirtied and his shoes muddied from the mush roads outside. Peter remembering the path leading to Hogshead was as dirty as the Inn itself suppressed a smile. The boy also wore robes with the Ravenclaw crest. As a matter of fact Peter had seen him before.

"Well I'll be bloody mad! Saul Wilfred!" Peter greeted the boy grinning widely. "I can't believe you made it." Peter had never been good friends with the guy but only because the guy didn't talk much. He'd always planned to talk to him but like Peter he was also the secluded reader type. Whenever Peter saw him he was reading so he didn't feel right about interrupting him.

"Oh great...more of them come," Peter heard Aberforth remark "Very well, come come! We can't have the poor thing freeze out there." Peter led the other boy over to one of the benches near the group. Peter noticed Kale's sour look towards the new comer and turned to Saul.

"Aye, mate I know they don't look all that nice at first but once you get to know them they're not bad." Saul nodded. The look on his face was dumbfounded acceptance. Peter guessed that he must not have expected such a welcome.

"Oh, well while we're waiting for your escort I might as well fix you lads-" Aberforth glanced at Jane's sour look "and ladettes i mean-well imma fix you some butter beer."

"Escort?" Peter looked up, Tristen had just descended the stairs. "Some one's coming to get us?"

"Ah, yes. Welcome back to the living," Aberforth said.

"Someone from the order's coming to get us?" It was Amber who spoke now.

"...you mean the order of the Phoenix," Aberforth said, not looking up from the glass he was cleaning. Peter noticed as Aberforth wiped the glass it seemed to get dirtier. "Yes, but enough of that talk. Why don't we ask the newcomer first how he came to be here."

Violet gasped "You think he's a traitor!"

"These are times of war. It's only smart for us to think any new person walking in could be a Trojan horse." It was Kale who spoke this time. "Isn't that right Aberforth." Something about the way Kale made his statement sounded more like a challenge than a question to Peter. Which made part of him not help but wonder whether Kale was testing Aberforth's loyalties.

"Well...yes," Aberforth said "very well put indeed"-he looked at Saul-"then would you mind telling us your story?"

Oh hey everybody don't take this post just directed at Saul. You can just as easily post your character's points of view during this conversation. You know, to keep things going.

Saul took a deep breath. He had never talked in front of such a large group before. He opened his mouth, nothing came out but a breath of air. Why am I even here? Isn't possible to transport myself out of here? After all this place isn't bound by Hogwarts enchantments, right? He wished he had read about it.

Paul put his wand away and said, "I was sleeping when I heard the kids in the common room screaming. At first I thought little of it, after all the kids often often had parties in there."

One of the boys looked at him and grinned. Saul had seen the boy around and knew that he was one of the partiers.

The man told him to go on with his story.

"But then I heard someone scream that the castle was under attack. I was so scared I jumped out of bed and grabbed my wand out from under my bed. It didn't surprise me that no one came to wake me up. They probably didn't even know I existed." Saul looked at one of the boys that he knew was in Ravenclaw.

The boy looked away. What was that expression he had? Sadness?

"When I got to the common room kids were debating on rather to stay inside or go out and fight of the attackers. It appeared that they along with me were the last to stay behind. I was terrified I didn't know what to think." He paused. How could he be saying so much? He had never said so many sentences to anybody in his entire life.

The kids appeared to be listening in awe at his story. Saul took another deep breath. He could feel his heart racing, and his palms moistening with perspiration. "And then there was the spells being directed at the door. The portrait was screaming for them to stop. And then it said nothing. I heard one of the invaders say, "That's how you erase bad art!" He had killed the person in the portrait! And then the door burst open.

"I didn't know what else to do I... I used cast the killing curse."

Everybody stared at him open mouthed. Saul felt a tear seep down his cheek.

"I was so scared, I didn't know what else to do," Saul managed to choke out. He collapsed against a wall and sobbed. He had never wanted to be a taker of a life. And he had killed more than one. He had the blood of three wizards on his wand hand. Evil blood, but blood none the less.

He heard the creaking unsure footsteps of the other wizards approach.

*I've been invited into this storybook as Violet. Let's see how this goes. Correct me if I say something wrong.*

Violet~
"You think he's legit?" Violet asked as she walked up to Saul. She kneeled down to face him. Her hair turned a soft orange. "What's done is done, Saul. No use crying over spilt blood." She said sardonically. "Just get up and we'll see how this plays out."

Aberforth looked at her as she walked back into the group. "What the hell?" He whispered.
"Look at him, you think he could kill anyone? The killing curse takes guts sweetheart and this kid doesn't have 'em."

"We have everything to loose Violet." Alex told her grimly.

"Don't I know it?" Her hair turned a deep shade of red. "But what are we going to do otherwise? Throw him out? Kill him?" Saul jolted at the suggestion.

"Since when did you care that much?" Someone asked.

"Fine, I don't." Violet crossed her arms and walked back into the group.

Kill me? Did I hear that correctly? These people are bloody mad!Saul picked himself up off the floor and pointed his wand straight out ahead.

"Whoa!" a girl said raising her wand. What was her name voilet?

"Experliamus!" Saul said. The wand flew out of the girls hand. He caught it with his free hand. His chest heaved up an down. He was scared for his life. This is why I never trusted people. Deep down inside they are all mad.

"Please, don't. I don't even know what's going on anymore!" Saul said.

The girl who he had hexed slowly walked toward him.

Saul pointed his wand at her chest. "No! Back away please! I- I can't believe you people, your all mental. How stupid are you, I'm only a student!" He saw Kale move his wand. "Experliamus!" Saul said before Kale even had time to move a finger.

The rest of the wizards and witches gestured for him to lower his wand. Saul shook his head. I just want to go home. His cheeks were still moist with tears.

Violet~
Violet stepped towards Saul, who's face was dripping tears. She quickly put him in an arm lock and grabbed her wand back. She pointed it at the side of his face. "What are you doing? We're not trying to hurt you."

"I just want to go home. I just want everything normal again." He said quietly.
"Don't we all." She muttered. "Peter, what are we gonna do with this guy?"

Peter shrugged.

"Let me go." Saul said defiantly though he was still trying to stop crying. Violet kicked him away but kept her wand pointed at him.

"Just everybody calm down." Aberforth bellowed. He stepped forward and turned Saul by his shoulders to face him. He leaned forward and whispered something to him. Saul turned to glare at Violet and then walked to the back of the building where he disappeared into a room.

"Anyways... the Order is coming." Violet said, changing the subject away from Saul.

Saul never would have dreamed of hurting a girl in his life, but in this case his life was at stake. He pushed the girl so hard she slammed against a wall and passed out. Oh no, I didn't mean to push her that hard. Why do I even lift weights? I'm a wizard I shouldn't need to be physically powerful, although agility for dodging spells is crucial.

Everybody stared at him in shock.

"I'm sorry," he said. "But why are you people so aggressive?! Can't you see I'm trying to make sense of all this!" He shook with what was now anger.

"Will someone answer me about why you are all so... so suspicious?"

Violet~
Violet hit the wall hard and colours flashed in front of her. The scene turned dark and then bright again. She stood up. She was still light headed but she fixed her eyes onto Saul. "Crucio." Saul collapsed on the floor. He stood up shaking. "That's illegal." He said.

"There are no laws anymore." Violet replied.
"Fine. Stupefy."
"Ennervate."

A volley soon unfolded.

"What the hell are you doing Violet?" Peter yelled.
Violet just glared at him.

Saul sidestepped as a red hex flew by. It hit a back wall chipping at the wood. Splinters plopped on the ground. This was getting out of control sooner or later someone was going to get hurt, or worse. He knew how to do it. He could kill them all. After all, they were acting worse than the wizards that broke into Hogwarts. At least they had a purpose. These mad batch of young wizards however seemed to have no standards nor realistic thinking skills.

Saul had read several muggle books. What did they call this sort of thing? Hysteria? Crowd psychology? He didn't have time to think because another red hex soared in his direction. This one got him and he felt himself propelled backwards. He let out a groan as he tumbled atop a table. Glass ware shattered under him.

He rolled off the table as another spell soared in his direction. A hole appeared on the table where he had been.

"Experilamus!" he said. Kale's wand flew out of his and landed next to Saul. Kale began to dive for it. But Saul was faster and scooped it off the ground. And then as Kale grabbed him he snapped it in two.

It's cracking seemed to echo louder than the hexes that whooshed by overhead. And then they stopped. A wizard had lost his magical powers. A wandless wizard was as defenseless as a... a muggle.

Kale let go of him and stared at his snapped wand in Saul's shaking hands.

"I'm sorry," Saul managed to say. An explosion boomed outside the Hogshead. Butterbeer cups topple off tables and silverware rang like bells as the jiggled from the shockwaves. What kind of curse could have done that? I remember reading in an copy of the Daily Prophet about a curse like that killing Ron Wesley's brother Fred. Are the Death Eaters truly back? We can't keep fighting like this, if we do we are all condemned to our grave.

Jane - Slytherin

Jane had stood sullenly in the back of the room as the hexes began to fly. Let them curse each other to bits, Jane thought tensely. She could care less. Her mind was still spinning with the turn of events.

Originally, the students had planned to go to the Ministry of Magic for help. Then Dumbledore came and started spouting conspiracy theories and cries of corruption within the Ministry. There was now talk of going to the Order of the Phoenix for help.

Hence Jane's dilemma. The Order of the Phoenix. An extremist group, primarily composed of former Gryfindors.

Whether or not the majority of the Wizarding population wanted to accept it or not, prejudism existed on both sides of the spectrum. "Dark" wizards and muggle-born haters most certainly were prejudice. And all of those Dark wizards came from Slytherin. What, then, did the Slytherin House become? Prejudice. Labelled. Obviously, the most logical conclusion was that all Slytherin students will grow up to turn Dark. If one needed more proof to the matter, who were Slytherin's known rivals? Gryfindors. Harry Potter. The Order of the Phoenix. Proclaimed saviors of the Wizarding world.

Which was why the Order of the Phoenix was the last place any Windhorn kin needed to be. Jane and Kale would be walking into only another hostile environment. Among the Ministry, they had family ties to protect them. As far as Jane knew, only one Slytherin had ever been in the Order of the Phoenix. Severus Snape, and that was only because Albus Dumbledore trusted him. Jane and Kale certainly had very little trust in the present company.

Jane was jolted out of her train of thought when a sudden, loud crack sounded. Jane looked up toward the battle. Jane felt the blood drain from her face when she saw what had happened.

Kale's wand was snapped. Kale stood staring down at his hands, cradling the splintered pieces of wood. The culprit, Saul, stared at it for a moment.

"I'm sorry," he choked out.

An ear-shattering explosion sounded from the castle's direction. All of the occupants of the room turned toward the noise, fear in all of their faces. Jane alone stood still, staring wide-eyed at Saul. A low, boiling rage began to bubble in Jane's gut. He had left Kale with no way to defend himself. Jane couldn't guarantee that she could protect both herself and Kale if they were to get into a battle for their lives against the Order of the Phoenix.

The desire for revenge swept Jane. That boy might have just condemned Kale and her. He would pay for his crimes. Jane would make sure.

Jane pulled out her wand from beneath her cloak. Out of the corner of her eye, Jane saw Kale looked up toward her, but she ignored him. Jane had eyes only for her prey.

Saul felt so guilty. From now on I will protect this boy from any harm, no matter what peril it puts me in. It's the least I can do for him. Crowd psychology is an amazing thing. All the trauma these poor kids must have suffered... they're just like me. We're just all so... so scared. Of the same thing.

Saul cleared his throat, and reached down to help up Kale who was cradling his wand like a mother rocking the body of her dead baby.

Kale swore brushing his hand off.

"Kale don't do this, we're all in danger," Saul said.

"Yeah, in danger form you. No wonder your always alone, you freak!" Kale said.

"Kale please don't talk that way."

"Shut your mouth freak." Kale said getting up and walking back to the others.

One of the girls was leering at him with the murderous leer of a lioness on the hunt.

*sheesh I don't post for one day and Kale gets his wand snapped haha*

Kale(Slytherine)-

Kale stood and tossed his broken wand to the side. Everyone stared at him, he really hated it when people stared at him. Jane looked absolutely livid. Kale put his hand up in a 'don't over react' motion, a calm washing over him. He didn't have to worry, he wouldn't need to defend himself. The choice had been made for him, his path was decided.

"Jane, let me borrow your wand," his tone was different, almost casual. God, he sounded like Greggory, that almost made him laugh a little. Jane looked at him hesitantly.

"That's probably not a good idea," Jane said. Saul turned completely pale, he probably thought Kale was going to kill him or something. He thought how pathetic Saul was, crying over a few dead bodies.

"Come off it, hand it over. I just need it for a bit," Kale put his hand out and Jane cautiously handed it over. Kale turned and Saul cowered to the floor.

He muttered a hasty apology. Kale sighed and strode past him over to the bar. He fumbled around before finding what he was looking for, ink and parchment. He scribbled his note then pressed the wand to the paper. The ink soaked in and disappeared. He and his friends had used this for communication so much, so long ago. He tossed Jane's wand back to her. She looked at him, bewildered.

"What was that about?" She asked.

"Nothing," he leaned against the bar. The others probably thought he was completely off his rocker, he tended not to care what others thought.

Suddenly the door burst open and a tall, bulky man strode into the room. Aberforth turned to him and grasped his hand, shaking it firmly, "Sauron," he said, "glad you're finally here. These kids are drivin' me batty."

Kale looked over at Jane, she looked alarmed, scared even. This was good for her, she would be safe with the Order, they could even help her. But Kale had a past, a record. They would question him, they wouldn't trust him. Trust wasn't worth much though. Two other men filed in behind Sauron and they looked around at the gang of kids.

"Is it still here?" Sauron's voice was deep and heavy. His long black hair fell in dreadlocks around his face and his skin was darker than charcoal. His eyes slid over each student then fell on Kale, hovering for a few seconds.

"Yes, yes, it's in the back," Aberforth mummbled, pointing absently at a door none of them had noticed before. Sauron and the other two men gathered them all and they all were hurried through the door. Sauron shook Aberforth's hand again, and thanked him, then they were alone in the room.

The only other thing in there besides them was a hairbrush lying on the floor.

"On three," Sauron said, and they all readied themselves to touch the portkey, "one...two...three." They all lunged and the world slipped out from under them. Air wooshed around their heads and they were whipped back and forth. Then, suddenly, it stopped. They were all laying scattered on a brick road in a residential neighborhood. Sauron and the other two escorts were on their feet, helping up the others. One got to Kale then turned away without offering a hand. Kale stood up and brushed off his clothes.

Sauron dragged his wand along the ground causing a soft shifting sound. A thin gold line appeared on the ground then expanded into a large square. As the burning light of the lines faded a wooden door appeared in the ground.

He opened it and a set of lit stairs became visible, "Down there," he said and they all went single file down into the sewer. They walked for a few minutes down their second cold and wet tunnel of the night. A brick wall appeared and stopped them, there was a huge old fashioned door in the wall that Sauron opened and, again, motioned for them to enter.

They passed through the door and into what seemed to be a grand hotel with high ceilings and gold crown molding. There were at least three more floors above them and the lobby seemed to stretch on for a long time. Witches and wizards buzzed around, talking, and going in and out of rooms. There seemed to be other students too, looking as weary as their group. Most of them were still even in their pajamas. Their escorts were ushering them around. Kale noticed not all of the students were from Hogwarts, some were from other schools. Had they really attacked more than one school of Magic?

Sauron stood in front of them like a tour guide and spoke, "This is the headquarters for the Order of the Pheonix. Arman will get you all rooms and then breakfast will be served in an hour. You should all rest, we have much to discuss with you all." An erruption of questions filled the lobby but Sauron put his hand up, "We will talk after breakfast." Then Arman, one of the other escorts, motioned for them to follow him. Kale brought of the back of the group but was stopped dead in his tracks when Sauron's stong grip wrapped around his wrist.

"Not so fast," he said pulling Kale's sleeve up, "death eater." The others didn't notice as Sauron pushed Kale into a small room with no windows and only one door. It was better that they didn't.

*wow...that was long...hope this is okay, I just didn't want us to stay in the Hog's head too long.*
----------------------------------------------------

Greggory-

Greggory stood in the Great Hall of Hogwarts. Other Death Eaters sat at the tables and a few paced around. They were all awaiting his arrival. Most of the rest of the Castle was empty, except for the rooms where they were holding the remaining students and teachers.

The teachers that had already been in on the plan were watching them. They would all see that this was only for the best soon. Soon they would understand. Or they would die. A new breed of wizard would be born, one untainted and pure. They would teach the pure ones they had now, banish or kill the ones who were impure, and when the new generation of witches and wizards came everything would be perfect. Greggory had thought about this plan so much the past few months and soon he would meet the man who had brought them all together.

A searing pain in his arm made him jump. It wasn't his mark, it was the other arm. He hastily pushed up his sleeve and there burned in the flesh of his forearm was a message from Kale. The words lingered for a few moments then disappeared.

"Need to talk, I'll tell you when."
All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, and I promise you something great will come of it.

-Benjamin Mee

Alex Baker
Hufflepuff

Alex watched the jets of light fly. What was going on? They were dueling? Why? So what if Saul had wandered in off the street? He was just another student. They were all in this together, after all. He had heard the boy speak about killing Death Eaters, and then seen him feel sorry for it. Someone who cried because they had killed a man couldn’t be evil, could they? No. He felt like leaping into the fight, stopping them, telling them that this was pointless… but he couldn’t. He stood there, like the coward he now felt he was. Then, all of a sudden, Saul snapped Kale’s wand. His eyes widened at the sight of the mutilated wood. Then Kale just threw it away… He was so confused.

He turned his gaze to Violet, who, he realized, had began the whole thing. Even though he didn’t know her well, that had been unexpected. And then what he himself had said came to mind.

“We have everything to lose, Violet...”

He had helped bring the fight about. He hated that. He hated the mob mentality that had taken hold of him, over all of them. Why had they attacked Saul? Because they were losing faith in their fellow man. In a way, they had lost everything the moment they began to fight.

***

In the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix, Alex wandered around aimlessly. He was thinking hard, and he did not like it. When Aberforth had said that a member of the order would be picking them up, Alex had felt relieved. Now he was in the headquarters, however, he felt uneasy. He realized that he didn’t trust these people, however good they were said to be.

He had noticed, out of the corner of his eye, an order member take Kale aside. The man had said, “Not so fast, Death Eater.” Alex didn’t know what to think of that. Part of him said ‘you can’t trust anyone anymore,’ but another part said, ‘don’t jump to conclusions.’ He agreed with the latter. Kale might have been mistaken for someone, or maybe he had made a bad choice earlier on in his life, Alex didn’t know. Suddenly, something dawned on him. Something he could do that might help lighten the dark mood. He had something to tell Kale when he saw him again. Alex smiled to himself. Yes, he knew exactly what to do when that time came. But, meanwhile, he decided to find Saul. There were amends he needed to make.

He found the boy sitting dejectedly in a corner of the kitchens. There were house elves bustling about, busying themselves with breakfast, but Alex paid them no attention.

“Hey,” He said, sitting next to the boy. It took all his will power to not drift off into his thoughts. Saul jumped.

“What do you want?” He asked in what he probably meant to be a biting tone, but the words came out rather half-heartedly.

“I wanted to… I wanted to apologize.” Saul frowned. “For encouraging them,” Alex clarified.

“Oh.” That seemed to exhaust the conversation for a while.

“I’m Alex, by the way. Alex Baker.” He said finally, attempting to smile. It was strange; to be consciously moving your face in a way others could understand. He yanked his train of thought back into the conversation before it went too far astray.

“Saul Wilfred,” Grunted the boy. Alex extended a hand to shake, hoping that Saul would accept it.

Saul took Alex's hand and shook it. He didn't know the proper way that Wizards shook hands, but he did know muggle formality.

Alex pulled back earlier than a muggle hand shake would have lasted.

Saul almost apologized.

This is the only wizard I've seen in years besides my family that has ever been kind to me. Or is he just playing undercover? Do they all plan to lure me in with false kindness, and then arrest me. Or worse, dispose me under the false pretenses of being a Death Eater. Well I ask them why do I not bare the mark? Because I am no Death Eater. I never could be, never will.

"How long are we going to stay here?" Saul said.

Alex shook his head, "I don't know mate, if I knew I'd tell. But I'm sorry to say I'm just as clueless as you."

Saul sighed.

"Did yo have an owl?" Saul said. He suddenly found himself missing his eagle, which he named Michael. His mother was very religious. Imagine a religious witch. And to think that during the Salem witch trials men and women were burned at the stake, or hanged under the pretense of being a witch. Little did they know most of the people killed were mere muggles, and that a witch or wizard only pretended to die. All those poor muggles... dead.

Alex started at him blankly. "I'm sorry, I was just thinking. Can you repeat the question? I mean, it was question right?"

Saul did.

Alex cleared his throat. "No, but I always wanted one."

Saul nodded.

"And um... Alex?"

"Yeah?"

"How come that girls wand worked for Kale? I mean isn't the wielder supposed to be dead for it to work for another wizard?"

Alex stared at him blankly again.

Saul began to repeat the question.

"No, I heard you you, I was just thinking of how to respond," Alex said, "And I think I have an idea. Kale and Jane are brother and sister so... I don't know, but I think that may have something to do with it."

Saul nodded. I suppose the two wands could be brothers... but so were Voldemort's and that Harry Potter's wands. And now Harry Potter to is dead. Along with his wife Ginny. My God, they were killed by muggles. They were robbed and shot in the head. Their kids were so devastated, it caused quite the rouse in the Wizarding world. The Boy WHo Lived Found Dead Along With Wife, was what the Daily Prophet read.

I'm not posting at the moment, but I want to clarify something: Alex never had an owl, because how would he afford one? His mother uses the muggle post and they didn't have much money to spend on owls and stuff. So, yeah, just so you know. :)
