The Third Wizard War

This takes place in the Harry Potter universe, but in the year 2023, many years after the events of the book (the epilogue of Deathly Hollows takes place in 2017). In order to reduce spoilers for those who have not read the books, Voldemort was defeated (but we all knew thats how it would end). In our world none of the previous characters will make an appearance, unless we somehow manage to get all people who've read.

Plot~~
Its 2023, almost 25 years after the end of the Second Wizard War (the one covered in the harry potter books). The Wizard world has returned to its previous state. The Death Eaters have either been killed or captured, and the Aurors have returned peace. For all of these years things have been quiet, but suddenly there are whispers of evil things in the dark. People whisper of the return of Voldemort's followers to finish the work he started all those years ago.

Thats where you come in. You will be students in your fourth, fifth, or sixth year, whichever pleases you, and you will be forced to make a choice. One week into term, Hogwarts is attacked by Dark Wizards. As students you have to choose whether to fight, or to remain in the safety of the school (please choose fight lol).

Setting~~
The story will begin at Hogwarts, but will quickly leave. It may just stay in England, and it may leave to the rest of Europe, I have no idea. We'll see where it takes us.

Rules~~
Nothing you haven't seen before, but its even more important not to make god characters. You will be powerful, but not invincible.

Functions exactly as it did in the books. Here are some magic rules, and guidelines and a list of spells, or course we will want to do things not covered in the book, so just do your best to write it without the words (some of the spell descriptions contain spoilers).

Name: Tristin Sirius Matthis
Age: 16, 5th year
Gender: Male
House: Gryffindor

Personality: He is true to most Gryffindor ideals. He is kind and honorable, and generally good natured towards people. He willing to fight and sometimes even looks for a fight, but he wont compromise on his morals. He has a great respect for other muggle born wizards and even muggles in general. His other defining characteristic is a very short fuse. He is easy to jump on his instinct, and let anger make him do things.
Appearance: Tall and thin, but well built. He has long dark hair that falls just below his eyes, and stone grey eyes. Has a sort of lazy, casual elegance, and always seems as if he's about to start moving.
Background: He is muggle born, so he had no knowledge of the wizarding world before his entrance to Hogwarts, which makes his success in Defense Against the Dark Arts even more astonishing. His parents welcomed the chance to get him out of the house because he kept destroying things on accident.

Strenghths: Defense Against the Dark Arts (he is very talented, almost at the level of some teachers), potions, herbology. Has an extraordinary ability to cast spells silently, and can even do simple spells without a wand.
Weaknesses: Charms, History of Magic, Transfiguration, Astronomy

Name: Amber Ruth Starshine
Age: 16
Gender: Female
House: Ravenclaw

Personality:Extremely strong willed and possessed of an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Can be arrogant and brusque in her dealings with others (especially gryffindors and Slytherins), but values her close friends immensely.Tends towards sarcasm in terms of humour, and is a bit of a no-nonsense kind of girl, though she will break the rules for a friend, or if her curiosity is piqued.

Appearance:Stands about 5 Feet 4 Inches. Waist length dark hair which she usually keeps braided. Almond shaped brown eyes. Dusky skinned.Keeps herself fit through quidditch practise (she's a beater.)

Background: Expat Australian, as she moved to London with her family when she was 8 and now falls within the English Ministry's jurisdiction. Her family is essentially pureblood and she had a thorough wizarding upbringing, albeit not entirely an english one. She's been fairly successful at Hogwarts but is more of an all rounder than a specialist, though her Charms are probably her strongest suit and she lacks any interest in herbology. She is president of the duelling club and is on her last warning after sneaking into the restricted section several (dozen) times.

Personality: Funny and vacant, easily distracted, not good at school work (mainly the reason she didn’t get into Ravenclaw,). Energetic and reckless, open to anything, argumentative and is always looking for a fight.

Background: She was raised by her mother who is a witch and her father, who is a muggle, and she’s lived in England all her life.

Gender: Female

Personality: A bit too outgoing, she is quite strange and has an odd sense of humor. She likes to talk and is never quite on the shy side. When she has an idea anyone and everything is is pulled in and it officially becomes a sort of game to her mind. She never feels remorse or ever looks sad but the secret is that she is on antidepressants and when she is off she suffers a complete personality change. She is actually quite a genious onc you pass this demeanor she gives off.


Appearance: Hair that constantly changes with only the highest of moods but retail a relaxed go lucky red brown hair. Her eyes are green and her skin is that of a porcelain doll scattered with a light sea of chocolate freckles.

Background: Her father was a traveler taking his daughter anywhere and everywhere to learn new things. This produced a quite eccentric child and her scholar father made many new discoveries and is known throughout the wizardry world for them. Violet's mother went missing about 8 years ago and her body was never found.





Strengths: She especially likes transfiguration and Divination using such classes to her advantage.

Weaknesses: Poor girl can't seem to work so well with history.
