*God I'm gone for a day and this thing rockets*

Melissa

The "accident" two days ago was just an old memory now. Melissa sat on her bed thinking it over. In the past two days she had learned that she was able to transfer heat or coldness to other items but it would jeoparidze the main source being either heated or even colder, and now she could tap into the molecules, being either hot or cold she could control it but only one item at a time. She glanced at the clock on her bureau. She was totally late for class. She slipped out of bed and put on a normal white t-shirt and faded jeans. She combed her hair with her mind, concetrating on the cold molecules in the metal hairbrush. The hairbrush started stroking her hair. Melissa smiled to herself.
Before leaving she glanced at the calendar that hung next to the door. Valentine's Day.
Her smile widedend, "Time to break some hearts."
She grabbed her sweater before shuting the door.

She walked down the corridor checking her bag for her science books when someone bumped into her...

Pudin it could be you.

Phelix (make sure you read this, it moves some characters around)

Starlet laughed and closed her eyes.

I looked at her and smiled. Maybe this power wasn't so bad after all. At least I could make her happy.
"How do you imagine all this?" Starlet asked, and brushed her hands along the cool sand.
"It's weird, almost like I created it," I answered, and sighed. "We better leave, Mr. Fern is walking our way." I finished.

We flashed back into reality. Mr. Fern was walking over to Envie, who was on the right of Starlet. She had her faced smashed into her arms, and faint sobbing could be heard. Mr. Fern stopped right in front of her and wrapped his ruler on her desk. She poked her head out and showed blood shot eyes. Mr. Fern began to say something but before he could, Envie rushed out of the room sobbing. I saw Andrew frown, and mutter something about Mr. Fern being and idiot, and rush out after her. Starlet gave me a confused look. She starting writing something on her paper. I looked through her eyes.

It's a girl thing

Andrew

I ran after Envie, knowing that she wasn't just a romance hater. Someone had broken her heart, like mine a thousand times before.

She collasped against a wall and sobbed, her breath huffing in and out. I sank to my knees and wrapped my arms around her. "Shhh, Envie its ok. You don't HAVE to go to the dance, I'll even stay with you. Who needs guys? I sure dont!"

Envie tried her best to reign in the tears. God, having Andrew see her like this was really chafing her pride, but she needed this. She needed to cry and get this out. She hadn't cried that Valentine's Day, and she'd bottled her feelings up for a year.

She leaned into Andrew. "It's not the dance." She hiccuped into the girl's shoulder. With a deep breath, she straightened up. "It's something that happened a year ago. It's what got me in this school."

Envie gazed up at the arching ceiling of the corridor. The dark stone walls and tall windows making up the building. She almost liked being here. Better than all the neat and pristine things she'd grown up with. She could actually breath here without evoking the wrath of her mother and father. She turned her eyes to her shirt, grabbing the soft fabric and pulling it out so she could get a good look at her favorite band. She fought back the fresh waves of tears as she remembered the guy who'd stolen her heart. She'd only called him once since that night, but it had to be short and she wasn't sure if he had the same number. She really should call him.

*Starlet*

I tapped my fingers nervously on my desk, staring at the door waiting for Envie and Andrew to come back. They were gone for a while and I was getting nervous.
"Ms.Mansion!" I jerked my head towards Mr.Fern.
"What," I scowled.
"The answer, please."
"To what?" Mr.Fern sighed and wiped at the forehead with a napkin that seemed to come from nowhere.
"See me after class Ms.Mansion." There was a wave of snickers from the class, I just shrugged my shoulders and smiled.
"Student teacher relationships are frowned upon," I gave my best smart-ass smile, but Mr.Fern's face just grew red.
"Do you want to be suspended?" I opened my mouth to come back with one of my clever remarks but Felix's hands landed upon mine. Don't, I heard him say in my head, don't even think about it. I sighed and rolled my eyes.
"Fine. I'll see you after class."

*sorry pudin I've been waitng but...*
Melissa

Melissa bumped into a girl sitting on the floor, Envie's redshot eyes told her she was crying. Andrew sat right next to her, comforting her.
Melissa pushed a lock of her hair behind an ear and crouched down next to Andrew.
Melissa whispered to Andrew, "What's wrong?"
Andrew gave a small shrug and went back to comforting Envie. Melissa stood up and fixed the strap of her messenger bag, "I had a friend who liked that band."

*Sorry its short but I'm in a hurry*

Andrew

I held onto her, trying to calm her down. I wasn't used to seeing her like this and it kinda scared me, but hey everyone cried at some point.

"What happened Envie? C'mon you can tell me!"

What was that saying people always used at these moments? Oh, yeah: Talking about it helps. Of course, Envie hated dumping her problems on others, but judging by the looks on Andre and Melissa's faces, they'd either bug her until she cracked, or pity her for no reason. But pity was pity, and God did she hate it. And she'd have kept her mouth shut on her sad tale, but she found herself wanting to tell them, needing to.

"Do you guys know what got me sent here?" She asked after a resigned sigh. The two shook their heads. "Well, it's because I tried to kill my dad." As they tried to conceal their shock, Envie rubbed the fabric of her shirt. "I'd been treated by my parents more like a disobedient dog than a daughter for most of my life. But, my dad especially loved making my life Hell. My sister was his spy, and told him everything I did while I was at school. She especially told him about Jace, my boyfriend at the time." She paused. No way she was detailing him, she'd had enough of her pathetic waterworks show. "My dad found out about us and our relationship and he forced Jace to move. My dad was the rop lawyer in the town and he could be very persuasive. He kept the whole thing from me, so on our first Valentine's Day together, I get to school and find out from my bitch sister. When I got home, I looked up how to make some homemade poison and slipped it into his coffee. He didn't die, unfortunately. But he couldn't send me to jail or juvie without attracting some kind of attention to the fact that his perfect family had a loose cannon in it, so he sent me here." Ehnvie shrugged. Wow, those people were right, talking did make it better. She was back to her usual "I don't care" self. Thank God. Anymore tears and she'd have to poison herself. This whole scene was pathetic, and what didn't help were the looks on Andrew and Melissa's faces. Yep, pathetic with a capital "P".

Phelix

The bell finally rang, and class dispersed.

Starlet and I had all our classes together, it wasn't that big of a school. It was pretty big though, but most of the kids were very troubled and were not let to be with the less troubled and more normal kids.

I day went by quickly and what seemed like nothing, we were at lunch, and only had one class left.

I strode across the white, plastic tile and through the circular tabled that covered the cafeteria. I held the bright yellow tray with my food on it.

Quickly i sat down next to Starlet.

"So, how's it going?" i asked.

Andrew

I squeezed Envie tightly. "I'm so sorry Envie. You don't deserve that crap!" I let her go and looked her in the eye. "Have you ever talked to Jace again?"

Envie stared at Andrew. "Once, the day after he moved. I tried calling a couple times afterward, but he wouldn't answer. It rang and I got his voicemail, but he never answered or called me back." That pressure in her chest built back up and she looked back at the ceiling, her only defense against her tears.

"You should try calling him again." Melissa said. "He might answer."

"He's probably got another girlfriend." Envie mumbled. She wasn't going to get her hopes up, not about this.

"Oh, just give it a shot!" Andrew said. "You'll never know if you don't."

Well didn't that hit a chord. Envie's natural curiosity had her reching in her pocket for her phone. The bell's harsh scream, however, stopped her and got her off the floor. "Maybe tonight." She said and turned to head to her next class.

She never got away from Andrew's or Melissa's eyes. One of them was in her class. And she had no chance of escape at lunch. She'd went to sit by herself, but Starlet caught her and pulled her to the table she and Phelix were sitting at. Andrew and Melissa joined them not long after. Envie avoided looking at them.

Melissa

Melissa sat down right next to Envie.
"I never took you for a killing type," Melissa said casually. "Hey well at least you were sent here and not to juvi, trust me it's not a place you want to visit. I have never seen you this way," she said a bit harshly, "Well, see ya," Melissa waved a hand and stood up.
"Aren't you going to stay," someone asked.
"I gotta do a few things," Melissa flicked her hair and skipped to the lunch exit. She didn't mean to be insensitive but she knew if she sympathized Envie, Envie would get mad and plus it wasn't her problem.

A smile crept onto Envie's face after Melissa left. Now there was a girl Envie could like, cold and straight to the point. Nothing sappy. However, Envie now realized that she could use people like Andrew. She found she missed having someone who cared about her well-being. She laughed a little at herself. When had she gotten to be so introverted?

"Aren't you going to eat? Envie?"

Envie blinked and looked up at Andrew. "Oh, um, no. I can't stand cafeteria food." Andrew looked skeptical, but nodded and returned to her food. Envie sighed. She needed to dig herself out of this sadness lined grave she'd dug. Small talk would probably do it. "So, no news on Dance dates?"

Phelix and Starlet shared a look that made Envie quirk an eyebrow, but Andrew just shook her head and looked at her. "What about you?" She pulled out her phone and tapped it suggestively. Envie frowned and looked away. "Just call." Andrew said. "You'll be glad you did."
