Java/Flux

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
Flux saw her wince when she said Rose, and realised what she was thinking. This was a good start to the meeting. Clearing his throat, Flux leant forward slightly, trying to cover for Death's discomfort.
"Right, well, we need names people. Personally, I think we should be Team Awesome, but that's just an opinion."
Everyone laughed, and he was relieved the tension had been broken.
"Flux! This is serious."
He sighed, Falconstrike, of course.
As other's began bandying names about, he sighed and took a look round the table. Did it really matter if they were caught? Right now they could be running and flying through the city, doing what they should be doing. But no, they were all here trying to figure out a name. He rolled his eyes and faced the table again.
"Come on guys, ideas?"
"It is curious how often you humans manage to obtain that which you do not want."

Mel/Falconstrike

"Come on guys, ideas?"

Falconstrike swung her legs off the arm of the chair she had folded herself into, her mismatched Converses swinging dangerously close to Death's face. She looked at her face expectantly, waiting for the moment when she would swing around and give her a stare that reminded her of the phrase, 'If looks could kill.' Much to her disappointment Death was being very good at ignoring today so she turned her attention back to the group again.

"What about..." she began, looking up at the ceiling with her golden eyes. "The fantastic.." she broke off to count the members with a pointed finger. "Nine. It's completely unoriginal and personally I still favour Team Awesome." Her face broke into a smirk. "Or Death's Zombies. Or even," she crossed her eyes and held her arms aloft, "Braiiinzzz."

She laughed and rolled out of her chair onto the floor in a reflex action, in case Death would try to throw one of her knives at her. Several of the heroes dared to laugh but it died quickly. Wiping an imaginary tear from her eye, Falconstrike clambered back into the chair. Marrow looked at her sternly.

"Okay okay," she relented. "I'll be good."

Kara/Electrum

Electrum watched the group bicker for a while. Eventually she stood up. "Guys!" Everyone fell silent, and eight pairs of eyes fell on her. "We're not going to get anywhere if we keep this up." She shivered. She felt uncomfortable being the center of attenton. She sat down again. Some people were still looking at her, but they eventually looked away. Stupid mood swings. She thought.

Laina/Metal Canary

Laina growled lowly as she paced around a large warehouse. She'd seen them while she had been flying. Damned superheroes. She'd seen them, and now she couldn't even pick up a scent. She lowered her wolf-like head back to the ground, the sounds of gears turning within her neck, and continued to take in deep breaths of air. They had to be around her somewhere. Flexing her reflective chromium claws into the lush grass beneath her, Laina snorted angrily.

Maybe she should wait. Wait for them to come out. She had only seen two of them, but she knew for a fact there were more. Laina shook her metal head in argument with herself and finally paced away from the warehouse.

She'd wait. And then, when they left, she'd investigate. Laina snickered to herself and lowered her body into the thick grass that tickled the metal plates on her legs, chest, and stomach, the titanium shifting only a little bit as she huffed out a breath of air. Her glowing red eyes adjusted in the early morning darkness, dimming so they wouldn't give away her position.

Wait. That's all she had to do. Wait. Unfortunately, Laina was not a patient soul when she was Metal Canary. So, letting out another growl, Laina stood up and once again, paced in the grass almost silently.

*Pretty pointless at the moment, but hey, I got her into the story so it was worth it.*

Hayley: Arch-Angel

"Chill hon," Angel said, moving her calm but somewhat unsettling aura over to Electrum. "My vote is all for the Energiser Bunnies, but whatev." She said to the group laughing a bit.

"Be serious Angel." Marrow glared at her.

Angel returned the glare, she made her eyes bore into his skull. "Fine. How about something serious like "Justice Irregulars" or "Sovereign Clan?" Angel's face twisted into distaste.

"Or how about the "Indecision Individuals?" Marrow sneered, mockingly.

"Fine, if you're going to..." Angel started.

"You two need to shut it." Flux broke in.

"Gotcha," Angel said and drifted back into the crowd.

Electrum sighed. They'd be here a while. "What about Team Justice?" She asked. She decided to amuse herself. She held her hands in front of her, putting her two index fingers about a foot away from each other. Without warning, a small lightning bolt traveled from fingertip to fingertip. She watched it as it hit her other finger, then turned around and went back to the first one. She smiled.

Flux smiled at Electrum. If they were going to do this they may as well be serious.

"How about "Justice"? Without the team, that's a little tacky, I think."

His input sorted, Flux turned his mind back to his plans for the next few weeks. Running, he needed to do a bit more. And maybe he'd try and catch a villain or two, Metal Canary could be fun to try and catch...

Mynah

"Hey-ho, metal one!"

The voice reverberated throughout the room. The Metal Canary's head lifted as her red eyes scanned the room for the voice's source, ears twitching. It seemed to be coming from all directions at once.

"You won't be able to locate me that way, but don't worry about me attacking you. I'm a person with similar interests to your own, namely the humiliation of a certain group of super-charged heroes, and I have a proposition for you."

The Metal Canary shifted into a blonde girl dressed in black and white, bright silvery eyes flashing behind her mask. Her hand gripped a horsewhip that crackled with electricity when it moved. "Who are you? Show yourself."

A lean person in a black suit with a yellow tie stepped out from behind a stack of crates. His face was obscured by a plain black mask. "They call me Mynah, actually. And you must be the Metal Canary, am I right? I know you by reputation, but it is an honor to finally meet you in the flesh."

Electrum returned Flux's smile shyly. She then quickly returned her attention to her lighting bolt, which was getting bigger. She spread her hands out some more, and put her hands straight up and down. The lightning was now hitting her palms. She grinned. Controlling electricity was great fun.

Cara/Death

Death blinked as electricity crackled in the air between Electrum's fingers. It was unsettling, but not so as to cause a reaction from any of the nine vigilantes. After all, they all had weird powers. Death, too, but few of them knew anything about hers. She'd whispered the word quietly when asked. Immortality.

"Justice," she muttered, rolling the word around on her lips. "It's a bit tacky in itself, Flux, but I'm sure I can cope with the cliché. After all, it's what we stand for, isn't it?" Death's mouth twisted in an unpleasant smile.

The sunlight hit the table in front of her then, seeping through a crack in the blackout curtains.

"Look, I need to go. The team name's Justice, or we discuss this tomorrow night. Tonight. Whatever, you know what I mean." Death stood up without waiting for an answer, her knives knocking against her thighs. She looked pointedly at Falconstrike, who seemed a little wary. So she should be, after that stunt earlier. "See you then."

With that, Death turned to go, each step she took leading her closer to Cara, to the shell she inhabited in the day.

Okay, I can run into the villains, or maybe you guys want to leave it til tomorrow night - the characters meet about midnight - in the storybook time frame. Up to you.

Kara/Electrum

Electrum brought her hands together, as if to clap. When they were seperated again the lightning bolt had dissapeared. She got up to leave, hearing her hair crackle with electrical energy. She followed Death out. She would have stuck around, but she had homework she should be getting to.

**Oh, I almost forgot... Marlaina wears a plated metal ring on her right ring finger that keeps her powers in check. If she looses it, or goes to long without it, her powers could go haywire and she could loose all knowledge of humanity, eventually becoming a man-killing machine. Just letting everyone know since I'm to lazy to post it in her profile. **

Laina/Metal Canary

Laina's eyes narrowed as she studied the young man. He looked pretty normal, not something you would expect from a super villain. His brown hair stuck up at odd, tousled angles, as if he had just ran his hands through it as he walked out the door. Hazel eyes stared at Laina behind a black mask while a bright yellow tie stood out strikingly against the black suit he wore. "Yes," she finally sighed, believing that he certainly meant her no harm, "Yes, I'm Metal Canary. You said your name was... Mynah?"

A expression between a smile and a smirk made its way across Mynah's face. "Yeah, that's me. I'm sure you've heard as me as well." She really needed something to crush this guy's overflowing ego. He probably didn't even realize how egotistical he sounded.

"Sadly, I haven't. I've never even heard that name Mynah. If I had I would've remember such and odd name." She wasn't meaning to come off as rude, but hey, she wasn't a good guy like the pansies she was spying on. Mynah's smiled faltered and Laina couldn't help but snicker lightly.

Sunlight suddenly reflected off the ring Laina was wearing, momentarily blinding her. She blinked her metallic eyes a few times and shook her head. "Look, I come here every day. I'll meet you here either tonight or tomorrow if you want to talk about... those disgusting goodie two shoes. Unfortunately, I've got somewhere to be." Her mom would kill her if she was late to school today. That much she knew for a fact.

"I'll have to take you up on that offer." Mynah smiled crookedly, Laina nodding slowly as she shifted into a falcon, the metal plates on her wings readjusting as she flapped them slowly, soon airborne.

"See you then." Laina cawed down before flying over the abandoned warehouse. I'll found out exactly where there hide out is sooner or later. She thought maliciously as she flew, the sunlight gleaming on the large metal plates of her wings.

I grinned at my fellow heroes.
"Justice! See you guys!"
I smiled again and waved, following Death and Electrum outside. When I passed the door, I breathed a sigh of relief, being outside made me jumpy, I wanted to run and fly. That was when I was comfortable.
I had to be home in half an hour, and I had homework to do. That didn't matter. Grinning wider now, I changed into hawk form and took off, swooping and diving. Exilarated in my freedom.
