Brooklyn's eyes filled with tears and she dried them quickly, afraid to let them fall. "You really want to know why I did it?" She sniffed, holding the white blanket draped over her body close to her chest.

"Yeah, I do." Jayke choked, causing Brooklyn's bottom lip to quiver.

"You didn't believe me when I told you, and I kept telling myself over and over again that had I not been so weak, I could've fought Mike off. I thought about how much I'd hurt you when you saw Mike kissing me, and I knew I'd lost you." She sniffed softly. "I could feel it with every fragment of my being. I just knew it. The mirror, I punched it, and the glass looked so inviting. I remember what it felt like to do it, so I took some of my mom's xanax and did it. I didn't feel anything. All I remember was a slight sting, and then I wrapped my arm in the sheet. I prayed that I would die." She could feel Jayke's eyes burn into her. "I wanted to die Jayke, and it... it scared me." She whimpered, tears rolling down her face.

"You dying would kill the rest of us." he said as he looked down. "I should've stopped and listened completely. I should've known." He ran a hand through his hair and shook his head.

"But seems we both screwed up." She sighed.

"It's my fault you almost died, Brook, if I had listened you'd be fine." He sighed.

Brooklyn looked over at him quickly and reached out, grabbing his hand and yanking it towards her. She stared him in the eyes, her eyes on fire. "I don't want you to think that. Please, please don't think that." She smiled softly. "It's my own fault. I was an idiot." She smiled softly, looking away from him.

"But-" Brooklyn snapped her gaze back over to Jayke.

"No buts, okay? It was my fault and that's that." She smiled softly, pressing her forehead to his hand gently.

Jayke nodded, but inside he still felt like it was his fault. He had nearly killed the one and only girl he had ever truely loved. He sighed. "I can't wait til you can get out of here."

"About that, are we...well you know...still together?" She asked.

"I never broke up with you, I don't know if you did with me." He smiled sheepishly.

Brooklyn smiled softly. She was so happy that it wasn't through between them. She didn't know what she'd do if it was. "Of course not. Only an idiot would end something so special with you." She smiled softly. "Well, not that I'm not an idiot, but I'm not a big enough one to end it." She laughed, twirling his fingers in hers.

"That's good to hear." Jayke smiled and Brooklyn nodded in agreement.

"Brooklyn Hendricks," another nurse appeared at the door, "the doctor said you're good to go. He's going to give you medication for the pain and then he'll want you back in a few weeks to take the stitches out. He wants you to change the bandaging once a day as well." Brooklyn nodded once, suddenly feeling giddy.

JAyke smiled and helped her up. He waited outside the bathroom door as she got back into her clothes and then they walked down the hall, got her medicine, and drove back towards her house.

"I'm so glad your ok." He smiled at her.

"Me too." She sighed.

"Swear to me you'll never do it agian."

Brooklyn was quiet for a few minutes. "Brooklyn, please." She turned to Jayke, almost melting in his worried gaze, and finally nodded, smiling softly.

"I promise." She smiled, running a hand through her short hair. When they were at a stop light Brooklyn leaned over to Jayke and pressed her lips to his. "Sorry, I missed that." She smiled playfully and leaned back into her seat when the light turned green.

Jayke smiled. "no reason to be sorry." He replied pushing some hair from her face before driving again. "I missed it too."

"We're sad." She laughed. "We just kissed yesterday."

"It's a good kind of sad though." He replie

Brooklyn laughed and nodded. "Definitely a good kind of sad." She smiled and took his free hand in hers, playing with his fingers. Jayke laughed at her and Brooklyn grinned, jumping out of the truck once they came to a stop in front of their houses. "Ugh, did the old people leave again?" She pouted.

"Yeah, I guess." Jayke laughed, wrapping Brooklyn in a hug. Brooklyn giggled and hugged him back tightly, taking in his scent.

"Let's go inside." She smiled, dancing into her house.

Jayke smiled and followed her.

"I TOLD YOU!" Trent shouted when tehy walked in.

"I didn't disagree." Taylor laughed.

"What did we miss?" Jayke asked wrapping his arms around Brook as he looked at the two.

"I told Tay that when y'all got back here y'all would be happy again. I was right!"

"I didn't disagree wtih him, he just wouldn't let me say anything." Taylor laughed.

Brooklyn laughed and gave Taylor and Trent both hugs. "I'm glad your okay now." Taylor smiled brightly. "Oh! I cleaned up your room for you."

"Thanks," Brooklyn laughed, soon being grabbed up by Trent and twirled in a tight hug.

"No she didn't! She made me clean it up! All she did was vacuum." Trent pouted and Brooklyn laughed loudly. "Well thank you too Trent." She laughed.

"Your welcome." He smiled putting her down and looking at Jayke. "Parents took off again. I dont' know where this time, said they were going to be back to make sure that Brook was ok at the hospital. SO I'm guessing if y'all didn't see them they'll be back here, cause they didn't leave to long ago."

"Sounds good to me. Long as they don't take her with them." He replied pulling Brook back to him and kissing the side of her lips.

Brooklyn smiled childishly and leaned against Jayke, her arms draped around him softly. "So, what do you guys want to do?" She smiled, slightly bored.

"I don't know. There's nothing to do." Taylor whined. Brooklyn laughed and led Jayke over to the chair, sitting down in his lap and laying her head on his shoulder.

"Who says we have to do anything. Brook doesn't need to do anythign that will get her heart pumping or the stiches might bust." He said as he held her close.

"Your just saying that because your enjoying being so close to her." Trent laughed.

"So what?" He smiled. "I'm not going to deny it."

Brooklyn blushed and smiled cheekily, kissing Jayke on the lips softly. Her tongue flicked against his bottom lip teasingly and she pulled away, laughing at him softly. "Fine then, Taylor and I will play Wii," Trent stuck his tongue out boredly at Brooklyn and Jayke, starting up the little, white game console. Brooklyn giggled and snuggled closer to Jayke, the want to be closer to him stronger that before ten fold.
