Kayla~

My head twirled from side to side. It was only a few seconds but it seemed like a lifetime. Viking's muscular black and white shape came lunging at me while an old friend appeared behind him.

If only it was a lifetime. Then maybe I would have more time to get out of the way. Viking knocked me over onto the ground, his weight crushing my ribs. A wary yelp warmed my throat only to have sharp teeth sunk into it. I could feel blood dripping down my chest. His hind leg claws battered my legs with no mercy.

"Kayla!" Someone screamed in the distance as my vision got blurry.

*Whatever you guys do can you make sure Kayla is injured? Broken leg?*

Ooo! This is getting good, guys! :D Very suspenseful ;)

Rayne - Yellow Hill Beta

Rayne dove under the water's surface. She was a much quicker and more agile swimmer when she was submerged. She didn't like to think of being the "leader" now, but with Lhuna away, it was ultimately up to her to lead her pack into battle.

Everywhere she looked, she saw the face of her father. It drove her mad. It fed the fire of anger that was already raging inside her. It was her most useful tactic in battle, to picture her opponent as her father and kill him time and time again. She blocked the water's temperature out of her clouded mind and set her sights on the opposite shore. The closer she got, the more furious she became.

Finally, she sprang out of the water and raced towards an oncoming blur of black and green. The force of the impact pushed Rayne back a little, but launched the Black Tooth wolf way back. She chased after him and caught him by the throat as he came crashing to the ground. She battered him for a couple seconds before more of his pack arrived to help him. They were a little bit of trouble, but for the most part were no problem. She was, for the first time in a long time, engaging in her favorite pastime.

It wasn't until they ran towards the Yellow Hill wolves that were splashing onto shore that she became worried.

Sting - Black Tooth pup

Sting paced back and forth, listening to the sounds of the fight that drifted in from the lake's shore. It was like a song - a song of battle and war, and all the snarls and yelps and howls that arose were notes and lyrics.

While she was pushy, bossy, and loved to be a leader, Sting never quite liked the idea of war. All the mangling of opponents and bloodshed was never appealing to her. She loved play fighting, but not if someone was hurt or killed.

Sting cringed every time she heard a yelp. She was very well aware that, as far as muscles go, her own pack was stronger, but Yellow Hill had strength in numbers, and a select few that were absolute beasts, able to take down her entire pack alone. She laid down on a rock and closed her eyes, piecing together a movie of death as every mournful sound flowed into her ears.

Feel free to jump in n_n Also, in case you couldn't tell, that first wolf Rayne was fighting was Toxin XD Sorry if I wasn't clear

Cana

I had to quickly decide what to do. Kayla was a Black Tooth, but had always been loyal to Yellow Hill when any of our pups were captured. I admired her in that way and I couldn't let her die, especially not by one of her own deranged pack members.

I lunged at Viking as he tore into Kayla's throat. I pushed him off and did everything I could to keep him back. I snarled and bit and scratched but he was stronger than me. He knocked me away easily each time I tried to push him back.

The wolf called Ghost stood over Kayla and watched our little war dance. He seemed as if he didn't know exactly where his loyalty lay when it came to one of his own and me, an enemy.

Viking bit my forleg hard and I fell to the ground. I was exhausted and couldn't bring myself up again. I lay on the ground and watched the snarling Viking move towards Ghost and Kayla.

Wow this is getting intense! 8)

Viking~Black Tooth

Viking had Kayla's throat in his jaws. He was about to deliver the death blow when Cana jumped on him and pushed him back. Viking went into a frenzy of biting, and scratching anything he could touch. He easily took care of Cana, and set his sights on Ghost and Kayla.

"We used to be evenly matched, but lets see who's stronger now." he growled with a evil grin.
______________________________________________

Ghost~Black Tooth

What do I do? Ghost thought. There is no way I can beat Viking alone. As soon as that thought entered Ghost mind a warm breeze blew, and he didn't feel alone any more.

"Come on Ghost I'll let you get one free shot." Viking taunghted.

The scent that surrounded Ghost felt familiar, he felt like he knew it from a life time ago. That's when it hit him. . .Ares. . .he was some pup in Yellow Hill father (Leo). He was killed by Viking as a test to show his loyalty to Black Tooth. He had to kill his own brother.

Ghost was so wrapped up in his thoughts he forgot about Viking, until he lunged, but was knocked off his paws. By a gust of wind. Ghost had his chance and he took it, he jumped at Viking, aiming for his throat.

Bane - Yellow Hill

After making sure the pups were safe with the wolves in the camp he hurried back towards Summit Lake, two mud-covered wolves joining him on his left side. He was about to question their identity before two green eyes met with his. He bumped the she-wolf next to him playfully, realizing why her red and white pelt was hidden. Talon was beside her, the mud not really doing anything for him. Talon, obviously sensing what he was thinking, glared. "Hey, let's head this way for a second," Hera stated, starting for the oppisite side of the lake, away from the Yellow Hill pack.

"Why? The fight's going on over here." Bane glanced at Hera questioningly.

Hera - Black Tooth

"I know quite well where the fight is, but Cana and Kayla went this way, and I can smell blood, and it's both of their's." Before she let Bane or Talon answer she took off towards Cana and Kayla's scent, gasping as she neared. Kayla was hardly breathing, everything from her neck to her chest covered in blood. Her leg was bent a disgusting way, and Cana wasn't much better. Her forleg seemed to almost be broken in two, her muzzle was oozing out large quantities of blood, and is seemed that her ear had a nasty gash on it. Viking and Ghost were fighting savagely, however, the spirits seemed to be on Ghost's side.

Bane and Talon were once again at Hera's side. She moved towards Kayla and Cana swiftly, eyes locking on Ghost and Viking's every movement. Cana was breathing as was Kayla, but only barely. Bane was tending to Cana, eyes the same place as Hera's and Talon was watching the battle, just in case something went wrong on Ghost's side.

Lhuna, Yellow Hill

Next thing she knew, Lido crashed into her with a force so strong it instantly winded her. She fell with a splash into the shallows of Summit Lake as a whoosh of air rushed from her lungs. Her laughed, flashing his long, white canines. They stood out plain in the pitch black of the clouded night. Huge pillars of livid clouds bruised the sky as thunder rumbled in the distance.
She rolled to her feet, snarls ripping from her lungs like chainsaws as she began to pace him. Lido tryed to pounce on her several times, but she was too quick footed for him. Rain began to fall, thick and fast. It started to clog her fur; she had to act fast before she was no longer fast enough to dodge his shots.
Lhuna dodged one of his lunged and her teeth met Lido's muzzle with a roar. Her head shook as her teeth held his face, instantly ripping the flesh and staining her tawny muzzle scarlet with fresh blood.
Lido screeched, and raised one paw up and brought it down on her head, smacking her nose into the ground before she could act. Blood drew from it and angry streaks of red scuttled down her face like spiders. She barely flinched, her mind too focused to allow the pain to take over.
"You have learned much in your young age, Lhuna. Who taught you to fight so well?" he sneered, shaking his face and spraying blood all over her in speckled dots.
"Maybe, your father?"

Her blood seemed congeal, and her vision flashed red. "Don't speak to me about my father!" she roared, itching to draw more blood from the wretched black wolf.
"I knew him well... Arzeal, wasn't it?"
Her rage was barely being contained, threating to bubble over the surface in a mighty explosion...
"The last I saw him, he was begging me to kill him," he jesting at Lhuna. Her hackles raised even higher, making her svelte body seem twice it's size. "I killed everyone in that pathetic pack, your parents, your siblings... All but little Lhuna, defenceless little pup! No family, no friends, alone. Always alone!"
At this her head almost burst with rage. Lido's face twisted into a roar of pain as she ripped below his throat, jumping backwards again and throwing the mouthful of fur she recieved to the ground. She howled in disbelief when this injury didn't seemed to hinder him.
"I beat your father until he begged me to kill him. He was a useless, good for nothing mutt, just like you! You led all of your friends to their deaths. I will drown you in the lake just as I did your whole family!"

Lhuna replied in the most terrifying voice; it was shaky but the intensity of the rage was enough to make a grizzly flinch at her gaze. "I'll send to to hell where you belong, Lido."
Then, all chaos broke lose.
Ripping, clawing, howling and cracking was all to be heard as the two wolves seemed to mold into flashes of grey and black. Lhuna was blinded by rage, her conscience had been reduced to it's most primitive state.
Bite! Tear! Slash! Dodge! was all it screamed at her, it's voice loudening with every injury she took. She felt his teeth crunching down on her silver fur everywhere, and soon seperate spots of pain expanded into one flaming ball of hurt.
Blood dripped from her nose and mouth; she could no longer tell who it belonged to. Black spots floated across her vision as her head hung like it was a thousand times heavier than it was supposed to be. Her breathing was ragged and painful as her golden eyes met the cold cruel ones of Lido.
"It is over," Lido almost whispered, before knocking her backwards into the lake again.
Her head meet the pebbles with a crack as her whole world was submerged in the inky darkness of Summit Lake.

Her eyes bulged as a black paw broke the surface sharply, meeting with her throat in a mind spinning blow. Her legs kicked outwards trying to hit Lido's white stomach, but they met no purchase. Her muscles stretched with a horrible yank as they hit thin air. She thrashed even harder, throwing her head in every direction she could, trying to escape.
It was hopeless.
A sudden darkness crept up from the corner of her eyes, closing in on her. Her lung's screamed for air, while her kicks got fewer and fewer in between.
Soon, they stopped all together.
Her eyes closed slowly, as the darkness descened. She had one final attempt to save her own life.
With all the little strength she had left, she threw her back legs over her head in a painful backwards roll. Her feet met Lido's chest with a crash and the force threw him off her. Her head broke the surface as she gasped uncontrollably for air, between coughs and splutters as her lungs cleared themselves of water.
She had no time to waste, Lido already was lifting himself off the ground with snarls ripping through his bloodied teeth.
Then she saw it. Her last chance of killing Lido for good, one that would probably take her own life too.
A rocky wall with loose boulders was directly behind Lido. It was probably created during a land slide, and it looked extremely untable.
She saw the thick branch holding back the loose rocks....
It was her only chance. She had to lead Lido closer to it, somehow.
She put her bloody hackles flat against her skin, ignoring the rush of pain it brought. She shot her tail between her legs, and lowered her body until it was nearly flat against the ground. She gritted her teeth, She didn't like having to pretend to be scared, when really Lhuna was courageous and had never shown an inkling of fear in her life.
"Yes, little wolf. Show me the coward you are!" he roared, as she began to creep around him, towards the rocks.

Suddenly, she bolted for the branch, wedging herself between the rocks and the branch, bracing her back legs against the wood.
"Goodbye Lido," she panted, and began to push with all her might. The branch groaned, then it gave way, sending a fatal land slide towards them with lightning speed.
The last thing she saw was Lido's shocked, torn up face as the shower of pain crashed on top of them.
She cried out, her howl lost in the rumble of the rocks as the crashed over them.
Her eyes fluttered open as a cold, hard blanket of rubble buried her whole body, revealing only her head. He coughed and spluttered as the dust entered her lungs, choking her.
She pulled herself up, landing in a shaky mess a foot away from the rubble.
Lido was dead.
She lay out on her side, her breathing slowing below normal. Her eyes struggled to stay open as a sticky, warm liquid began to seep down her head where a rock had crashed into her skull.
Then she heard a set of paws rushing towards her.
"Lhuna! Lhuna!" came the voice of Tier and Zodiak, both yelling in unison.
They screeched to a halt beside her.
"We should go get help," came the choked voice of Zodiak.
"Mmm okayy," was all she could manage to say to them. Her eyes shut and she muttered quietly, "Stay with me."
Her voice was shaky, she now knew the true feeling of terror. She wasn't ready to leave them behind yet... she wasn't ready for the White Wolf to take her away from her family.
"Of course," Tier softly said.
Zodiak lay beside his fallen friend, resting his head across her shoulder with a low howl.
Tier sat close to her head, and licked her head where the wound seeped with blood.
"Thank you," she murmured, before the darkness lulled her into the abyss.

*Sorry it's so long ^^ Lhuna isn't dead, so don't worry! She's just exausted, and suffered a bad injury to her head. But she'll be out for the count for a while*

Bors~~

I growled as I ran through the woods. I wqas fast but I was no where near fast enough to get to Kayla with enough time to save her. I had gotten back from my hunt and seen the trails overlapping and when I pieced together what would happen my blood ran cold. I pushed myself to run faster.

I skidded to a stop as soon as I could see the other wolves. There were several. Three wolves were stangind over Kayla and another wolf, both of whom were wounded. Ghost and Viking were fighting on the side.

I ran into the clearing, "We need to get them out of here now! If viking wins they will both die."

between the four of us we managed to carry Kayla and the other wolf to the cover of a fallen tree. I set her down and checked to make sure she was in no immediate danger. When I was satisfied I ran back the way we had come and saw Ghost and Viking still fighting.

I snarled and leapt into the fight, hitting Viking back.

"Need any help?" I asked Ghost.

Cana - Yellow Hill

I felt myself being carried away from where I had fallen. Suprisingly it didn't hurt too badly to be moved, a good sign. One of my legs was in a lot of pain, so much I couldn't really tell which one. But I had some experience with pain and knew I would survive.

Three wolves stood around us. I could make out one as Bane, but the other two were a muddy brown and I couldn't recognize them.

It wasn't long before I fell into a dull unconciousness, the sight of Ghost and Viking battling each other stuck in my head.

Hey guys go to the DT for a moment I'm about to ask a important question that will effect the whole story!
(Decide to add something :D )

Ghost~Black Tooth

Ghost vision was beginning to grow dim, even with the spirits help, Viking was still to strong. Soon Bors came back, and hit Viking away from Ghost.

"Need any help?" he asked.

"Sure Bors." Ghost replied. He never really liked Bors, he felt like some how he would betray the pack. Yet now here he stood helping fight off Viking. Maybe he wasn't such a bad wolf.

Hera - Black Tooth

Bane was tending to Cana while Talon tended to Kayla, both of which were injured. Hera couldn't see her friends injured, and the snarls coming from Viking, Ghost, and Bors were causing bile to rise in her throat. They were all in the same pack for White Wolf's sake! Sure she didn't like the way Black Tooth handled things, but she'd never pit the wovles she'd been with her whole life against each other. Suddenly, remembering that Toxin was the only Black Tooth on the other side of Summit Lake other than Lido, unless he was dead.

A growl eurupted in Hera's throat and she lunged, knocking Bors over. She was in the middle of Viking with Ghost and Bors on her other side. "Stop!" She snarled angrily, hackles raised and fur bristling. Her lips were raised up in almost hatred. Not of her fellow pack, but of the fact they were fighting each other. "Why this all started, I don't know, nor do I care, but you are all in the same pack, and have been for almost your entire lives. Whether you were in a different pack before or stolen by Black Tooth, you are all family. Brothers, if you will. Now, stop fighting each other and act like a real family. Toxin is all alone fighting off Yellow Hill wolves and here you three are, acting like fools! You're acting like pups that are fighting over nothing!" Thunder rumbled from above, rain pouring down and washing the mud from Hera's pelt.

Hera shook her red and white head, glaring at the two hunters and the shaman. The blood was washing off their pelts. "Bane is helping his one of his family members, which is Cana and Talon is helping on of our family members. Bane is my brother by blood, but if it came to it, I'd fight against him, and he would fight me because we have a loyalty to our family. Now, how about we four get over there and help our family!" Lightning cracked from above and her fur settled, eyes still intense.

:D Lol. Thank you so much Chupatoasta! :)

Rayne - Yellow Hill Beta

Rayne did a double take as the horde of rocks came crashing down the hill. For a few seconds, all time seemed to stop. All the wolves froze and watched the earth slide down towards the two alphas. Rayne's mouth hung open in shock. This wasn't happening. It couldn't be. What was happening to Lhuna?

She decided not to think about it it any longer. As if her feet had a life of their own, she took off as fast as possible towards the rock slide. She skidded to a halt when she reached it. Lido was nowhere to be seen. Lhuna was lying on the ground, seemingly lifeless, with Tier sitting next to her and Zodiak lying by her, his head resting on her protectively. Worriedly, Rayne's ears pricked up and she trotted cautiously towards them.

Tier looked up at her, his face somewhat forlorn. Zodiak didn't move. As she got closer, Rayne slowed to a walk. It was like she was moving in slow motion.

She didn't know what to say, but eventually choked out: "Lhuna..."

Zodiak jumped a little, temporarily shocked. He quickly turned to see who it was, but relaxed when he realized it was Rayne. She looked at him with big, sad, blue eyes. His eyes reflected the same sadness.

They all sat in dead silence as the pouring rain came crashing down on them, almost as if it were consuming them. Rayne lowered her head sadly. Tier's ears twitched.

"Rayne," he said quietly. She looked up at him. "They need help," he told her, motioning towards the fight.

She nodded understandingly and took of back towards the fight. There were now five Black Tooth wolves fighting against two Yellow Hill wolves. As she came upon them, she tackled a dark red wolf to the ground and the battle of the Betas began.

---

Toxin - Black Tooth hunter

Once the yellow "war machine" had run off, I found that the rest of the Yellow Hill pack was relatively easy. After all, there were only two of them. That is, before they ganged up on me. It took me a little while to realize that I was completely alone. Fighting our enemies with no help whatsoever. It made me want to fight harder. I had never thought of them as my "family" in the first place, and now they left me to fight while they were doing...something else.

Obtaining a sudden burst of energy, I leaped and tore and ripped any flesh I could manage to bite. After a couple seconds, Hera, Ghost, Viking, and Bors came rocketing out of the trees and towards the Yellow Hill wolves.

"How nice of you to finally show up," I remarked sarcastically.

"Sorry about the delay," Hera said to me as she knocked off an enemy.

---

I can't think of anything else XD Sorry  Jump in if you'd like :) In case I didn't give enough hints, the wolf Rayne is fighting is Viking n_n

So, here is the new wolf, as promised xD

Name: Sonnet

Age: two years old

Pelt colour and appearance:
Image
She also has green eyes.

Pack: Formally of Appleyard pack, a neighbor to Yellow Hill. Her pack was murdered by a mysterious creature, whom she has no idea what it could be.

Position: She is an extremely talented scout, as she covers long distances in search of the creatures that killed her family. She also is an excellent tracker, but when it comes to hunting she is too svelte and light to participate much in a hunt.

Sex: Female

Background: Her mother, Birdsong, named her Sonnet because of her love for music. She loves listening to birds singing and follows their movements to help her search for the creatures that killed her family. Her howl is very distinctuive, it sounds like a song her mother and father used to sing to her as a pup.
She is determined and focused, and when she sets her heart on something she goes for it. She used to be fun loving and comical but her determination to avenge her family has almost wiped that from her character. She wanders Yellowstone alone.

I'll post with her and Zodiak now ;)

Zodiak, Yellow Hill

Please save her, if you're listening, please save her!

This was the single, lonely thought that raced through Zodiak's head. He pictured the White Wolf's nuetral face, begging the spirit to spare Lhuna.

He threw back his head in a mournful howl, as Tier sat by Lhuna's head, his own head hung and his eyes shut.

I know I never believed in you before. I'm sorry! Please save her...

Lhuna let out a low moan, her eyes squeezed shut. Her forleg twitched slightly, and Zodiak lifted his head in a sharp movement, thinking she would wake.

Nothing...

I tried, I really did. I wasn't fast enough.

He buried his face in her silver fur, taking in her sweet scent. It was all his fault. He'd promised to look after her when they met.

That sense of happiness felt like it was some sort of dream now...

The fight raged on, and yet he could not bear to leave Lhuna's almost still body. The howls, barks and snarls rang in his ears, like a demon choir singing chorus of hate and blood.

The rain hit his face like needles but the numbness didn't help the harrowing pain that roared in his chest.

His gold eyes flashed open when e remembered the White Wolf's name.

Sky-Lark, this is Zodiak of Yellow Hill. I ask of you to give Lhuna one more chance. To give me, one last chance.

A soft breath of air blew onto the shore; it sounded like a lengthy sigh.

Then he saw the beautiful white she-wolf, staring at him with heaven blue eyes from beside a tree.

A terror laced howl tore from his throat, as Tier jumped up beside him.

"What is it?" he said urgently, looking in the same direction as Zodiak was but seeing nothing.

"No! You can't!" he howled at the snow white wolf, who blinked slowly at him.

"White wolf! Sky-Lark is here!" he yelled, so loud that even the wolves at battle fell silent behind them all.

Tier said in a slightly strange voice," I can't see her. You're seeing things."

"I asked you not to take her! Please, I'm begging you!" He shook his head, squeezing his eyes shut. He couldnt believe he was seeing this. That this was happening to Lhuna.

When he looked up, Sky-Lark was looking at Lhuna, with that same nuetral expression. She shut her eyes for a fraction of a second, and behind him, Lhuna took a lengthy gasp of air.

He was harrowed with fear but with awe at the same time.

Sky-Lark had healed her.

Tier yelped in shock behind him as Lhuna's wounds stopped bleeding.

The White wolf nodded once, and then she was gone.

Sonnet, dispersal wolf

She stopped sprinting, digging her claws into the soft earth as a strong, musky scent almost made her choke. She shook herself roughly, trying to dispell the scent from he nose. It was not a faint smell, dispite the lashing rain.

Sonnet wrinkled her nose, recognising the smell as a scent marker. Her chocolate and gold coloured fur ruffled slightly as she raised her head up again.

She had a rough notion that she was somewhere near Summit Lake; she had tracked a herd of Pronghorn as they traveled to drink from it. Their hoof prints lead this way,the rain had washed most traces of them away.

She sniffed the air cautiously, knowing she was now in another pack's territory. She proceded with a slow trot across the grass, her pelt blending in with the grassland hues perfectly.

Suddenly, fierce howling met her ears. They twisted an swivled in all directions as sounds of war made her hackles rise in caution.

She blinked and scanned the area, her curiousity leading her closer.

Summit Lake came into view, it's huge glassy surface jet black as the moon was covered by billowing purple clouds.

She gasped in shock when she saw the scene before her.

Wolves were fleeing, howling and sprinting as if being chased by a hidious demon. Half of the wolves plunged themselves into the water, swimming for the south side. Others lay motionless on the ground, unable to escape due to horrendous injuries.

She backed away, her green eyes wide in horror at the horrible sight.

"What sort of warzone is this?"

*The wolves are all running from Sky-Lark, the White Wolf btw ;) They all think that she has come to claim some of the dying ones, naturallt they're terrified. Lhuna and Zodiak are still there but, he refuses to leave her ;)*
