I laughed. "As you wish gorgeous. want to grab something to eat?" I asked, smiling. I felt shivers all over my arms and I growled inwardly. I sighed and smiled at her.
"I play a little of everything," Vincent replied. "Well… classical not so much, but I play for the school jazz band and can handle most modern stuff. I've been fishing around for a local band that needs a pianist, actually, but so far no luck."
At that moment another girl appeared at the door… Arabella was her name, and she was in Vincent's first hour class. She turned to leave, but Vincent called her back.
"You're welcome to stay," he said. "Audra and I are simply conducting a little small talk. Speaking of which, Audra, what makes up your piano background, now that you know mine?"
"Buy, buy, buy, buy; sell, sell, sell
How well you've learned to not discern;
Who's foe and who is friend,
We'll own them all in the end."
"I'm Sybyla, but people call me Sib if they bother to talk to me." I reached out a tentitive hand to shake his and then tuck a peice of hair behind my ear before some stuff slipped and I had to catch it.
"Are you sure I can't carry any of that for you?"
I nodded, "I'm sure." The rest of my stuff tumbled out of the new hole in my bag and I gramanced. "On second thought..."
Kaleb scooped the stuff up and smiled. "It's good to meet you Sib." He smiled as they walked away from the class. He studied her from the corner of his eye. She had beautiful black hair and eyes that looked almost a dark violet. He frowned inwardly. What was he doing talking to her. She probably had other friends to get to. If they bother to talk to me Her words flew back in his mind. "What do you mean, if they bother to talk to you?" He asked looking at her.
Oh shit. "People don't really like to talk to me thats all," I said shrugging the question off as if it didn't feel like a needle stabbing at my heart.
"Why?"
Again I shrugged, "They just don't like to I guess. I'm a little too intimitating for them."
"Your also twice my size if not more." She smiled. Kaleb bent down so he was about her height.
"Nope, still not scary." He smiled standing back up all the way. "Your eyes are guarded. But that's about it, and that isn't really all that scary." He replied shrugging.
"I know one person here, and that is cause she is my neighbor." He smiled. "Make that two people now." He was confussed when he saw saddness etched on her face. "Are you ok?"
Make a fool of yourself, you never talk this much and there is a reason for it, so you don't scare people away! His mind yelled at him.
"I didn't do anything did I?" He asked softly looking down at her. "Cause I have a tendency to scare people when I don't mean to." He looked down at the books and stuff in his hands hoping that he wasnt' the cause of her being upset. He liked talking to her what little they had done, and he didn't want to mess that up. But being his size made it hard not to mess it up.
"Nothing. So where did you move from?" She asked. He shook his head.
"No changing the subject, what's wrong?" that's right, keep bugging her so she'll stop tlaking to you. GOod job, idiot. He kicked himself in the rear mentally for it, but he wasn't giving up.
