Renian~

Renian stared speechless. "Y-y-you're a Dragon Knight!" She squealed excitedly, "I so glad to know I'm not the only o-" She stopped and bit her tongue. "Never mind," she smiled sheepishly.

Tyrant----

"You mean you are too!" Tyrant said looking at Renian, "That makes three of us." He smiled at her worried look.

Renian~

Renian stared wide eyes at him for a second. "Y-you are one also?" He nodded. "Oh yay!" She squealed and jumped up, hooking her arms around his neck.

Tyrant---

Tyrant was surprised at first, then wrapped his arms around her spinning around. He breathed in and sighed, "Is it that great?" He laughed.

Renian~

Renian let go of Tyrant's neck and looked at him. "Of course. I thought I'd have to hide the fact from you two..." She looked at Karana and back at Tyrant. "You can put me down now," she smiled at him.

(Just pointing this out, I know you two like to do short posts so you give each other the chance to let your characters say whatever you want them to say, but part of being a good storybook writer, or even just a good writer in general, is knowing the reactions of all the characters you're working with. Storybooks are supposed to be fun, I know, but you should start thinking of them a little more as tools to help you practice your skills rather than a pass-time. I do it everyday and my writing skills have skyrocketed ever since I found YWS.)

"You mean... you're both Dragon Knights, too?" Karana asked. Her mouth was hanging wide with surprise.

"You were afraid we would kill you if we found out," Tyrant said. It was supposed to be a question, but Tyrant made it a statement because he knew that's exactly what Karana thought.

She nodded. "If anyone from Kuri City found out they would have tried to kill me."

"I know," Tyrant said. "It's a crime to not be fully human and a Dragon Knight at the same time." He said it with bitterness.

"We won't let anyone hurt you, Karana," Renian said. "From this point on, we're family."

"Family..." A fresh wave of tears came as the realization hit her. They weren't tears of sadness, they were tears of joy. She never thought there were people as caring as Kai was. These two knew her pain, her fear, they understood what it was like to have to hide what you really were or face the death penalty.

Karana got to her feet and slowly walked over to the two. She hugged both of them at the same time. "Thank you," she whispered.

(When you guys are ready you can move onto the next day when the characters arrive at the village.)

***Sorry, I guess I've never really written for others. I know longer posts are better, and am sorry for the short ones. The same for me. Ever sense I've come to YWS I've gotten better. Mostly because of the SBs where I had to work with what I was given. So here we go. If I do something wrong with y'alls characters just let me know and I'll change it. ***


Tyrant---

Tyrant hugged the girl back. His heart had dropped though, was all Renian think of him was as family. He wouldn't let his thoughts show on his face. When Karana pulled away she wiped the tears off her face and smiled.

"I don't know about Renian, but my wings are itching to get out." He smiled, he let his push out, it didn't hurt to much because his had come out not long before. He had made it a habit of letting them out every now and then. He felt a shiver run through his wings as a cold breeze pushed past them. He looked over at Renian who had let her wings out too. He couldn't help but stare at her face. It was so beautiful, so amazing. He pulled his glance away when her head started to move his way. He didn't want to be caught staring at her. He fluttered his wings a few times then pulled them back in his back.

Renian~

"It's getting dark," she sighed, looking up at the sky. They'd been traveling for a while and still had a few miles to go, "do you guys want to set up camp for the night?" She yawned as they walked, pulling a blanket tighter around her shoulders and holding Striker close. Karana and Tyrant both pulled their own blankets tight and nodded.

After a while, Renian found a site just dry enough to camp at. She quickly built up the fire as the other two gathered around her. Striker weaved his way around Karana's legs, switching between all three of them now and then. Renian pulled out some flint and tinder, beginning to strike it. A small spark flew, catching a dry leaf and making the wood stack go up in flames. Renian smiled and sat against a tree as the last rays of sun went down over the horizon.

Striker jumped into her lap, sending strange pains throughout her body. She winced at the pain but began stroking Striker. "Anyone hungry?" She asked, looking up at them.

"Oh!" Karana reached into her back and pulled out some bread. She handed everyone a piece. "I packed this for my trip with my friend. I was going to move out of the city with him and his mother, but..."

Renian broke off a small piece of the bread and fed it to Striker. "Don't worry, Karana. I'm sure he'll be just fine."

"I hope so," she said.

"So what's your friend like?" Tyrant asked.

"He's a really nice guy, he's always there for me. When ever I'm feeling down he tries his best to cheer me up."

"Sound like a good guy," Renian said. "What's his name?"

"Kai Okami," Karana told her.

"Kai... that name sounds familiar," Tyrant said. "Isn't he that guy with the long silver hair, wolf ears and tail?"

"Yeah, that's him."

"I've seen him around the city a few times. No one really seems to like him."

"Everyone hates him because he's a half-breed," Karana said.

"How did you two meet?" Renian asked.

"I met him when I was seven. A group of girls teamed up on me and started picking on me in the market district. I kept telling them to stop but they wouldn't listen to me. Kai showed up and told them to stop. The girls were scared of him because he was a half-breed and ran away." She made a weak smile. "To tell you the truth, I was a little afraid of him, too. But after seeing him trying to help me right away I knew he was a good person."

Tyrant----


"He'll probably make it. He didn't seem like the dumb type, he would've found a way out." He tried to reassure her. He wasn't so sure though. The demons they had fought were hard enough, but a ton of them together would be terrible. He sighed and shook his head. He stuck his hand out towards the fire and smiled as he felt it's warmth. He ran his other hadn through his hair trying to think. WHat were they going to do now. None of them knew the others that well, and they were stuck together for who knows how long.




*sorry....*

(Don't forget, they're heading toward a village to the north. The village is a few miles away from the base of a volcano called Fire Mountain. It`s vital to the story that they get there by tomorrow. Just reminding you incase you forgot.)

(Let's just skip to the next day. Try to keep the storybook alive, we're getting close to the part where we can all fight with magic!)

They packed up their stuff the moment they woke up the next morning. Spring had just started a few weeks ago and the mornings were still cold. They had a quick bite to eat before heading off.

They walked in silence most of the trip, they were still partially asleep. When they were fully awake they reached their destination. The village was small and peaceful. The villagers were doing their morning duties while the children ran through the streets.

"Sure looks peaceful," Tyrant said.

"Yeah, you'd think they didn't know what happened last night just a day's walk away," Renian said.

"Maybe they don't," Karana pointed out. "Maybe they didn't hear anything."

Renian pointed off into the distance. "Hey, look!" They all looked and saw the huge volcano known as Fire Mountain. Giant clouds of smoke billowed out of the crater with no end in sight. "It's huge!"

"Why would anyone build a village so close to a volcano?" Karana asked. "What if it erupts?"

"The volcano hasn't erupted for centuries," Tyrant explained. "Besides, there's a giant chasm between this village and the volcano, so if it ever did erupt the village would still be safe from the lava."

"Besides, the ash created from the volcano helps to keep the soil fertile," Renian added.

"I see." Karana stared back up at the volcano. "I've never seen a real volcano before..."

"Hey, do you guys feel that?" Renian asked.

"Feel wha-" Karana stopped when she felt the ground vibrating under her feet. "Wait, I do feel it."

"What is it?" Tyrant asked.

The vibrations started to get worse. Villagers began to panic, some of them ran into their houses. "What's going on?" Karana shouted.

"Look!" Renian pointed at the volcano again.

Everyone looked to see the top of the giant mountain begin to glow with reddish orange light. The amount of smoke coming out of the crate had increased as well.

"It's going to erupt!" Karana yelled.

And it did.

(Remember, your characters are safe right now. You'll find out what caused the eruption later.)
