Colt-

Colt snapped the neck of the werewolf under him and shot a thank you to Caiden. He ran after the next werewolf hoping to keep them away from Caiden, she might have majic but when it came to being a vampire she might be too weak.

Caiden could tell that Colt was pushing himself too hard and used her magic as much as possible. She also knew that he was pushing himself so hard because he was trying to protect her. That made her double her efforts.

Finally a werewolf caught her by surprise and knocked her to the floor, clawing at her. Using both her magic and her normal stregnth-not that much better than what she was before if not worse-she shoved him off and knocked him down on a splinter of wood and impaled him.

She winced as the smell of its blood invaded her nostrils and made her cringe and gag. Disgusting. Colt's gasp of pain turned her back to the battle just as a werewolf prepared to rip Colt's throat out. Using a quick blast of magic she sent the beast away and out a window.

"Are you alright?" She asked pulling him up.

"I'm fine," he assured, "are you alright? I saw that werewolf-"

"I'm fine. Look out!" she shouted and sent a blast of magic towards a werewolf, knocking him so hard he transformed into his human form.

*Sorry I'm in my English class and I'm bored so its really long...but it makes up for all my really short posts!*

"Thanks," Colt grinned, he threw a punch behind her knocking one of the werewolves to his death. He smiled at her then turned and went back to fighting the werewolves keeping his eye on Caiden just in case. There were only a few werewolves left when the two that were alive took off running. Brent and the other vampires took the dead werewolves out of the apartment as Colt walked to the kitchen, he needed to clean up and get the wards back up.

Caiden followed Colt into the kitchen and helpped him clean up. "I don't like how they just got in here," she said point bluntly, "how could they have broken through your wards?"

Colt shrugged.

"I think somebody took them down," she said eying the livingroom, "one of them."

He looked at her disbelief in her eyes.

Colt couldn't push a sound out of his mouth. How could she say such a thing.

"How do you know it wasn't Slade." He demanded glaring at her. "My friends wouldn't do something like that. The fact that you would even suggest it is uphauling. They wouldn't side with werewolves if it was the last thing on earth. They are loyal and don't want me out of the way like Slade does." Caiden's mouth hung open and she snapped it shut. She shook her head as if trying to say something but it wouldn't come out. She turned around and stormed off.

"Go run to him, see if I care." Trent muttered, but he did care, he knew he cared and he wanted to go after her but something wouldn't let him. HOw could she accuse his friend. She didn't even know them.

Caiden walked into the living room and right passed everybody else, completely ignoring Slade, she didn't even want to think about him. Colt had put the idea that it might be him in her head.

She hopped over the edge of one of the holes and went into Brenty's apartment. "Brent!" she said and looked at him patheticly, "can I have a hug?"

Brenty-

Brent blinked twice, then a third time. He had heard the fighting next door and as Colt had told him that if he ever heard fighting to stay clear of it.

"Excuse me?" He nearly stuttered, but it came out fine.

"Please," The look on her face nearly tore him apart.

"What happened?" He asked pulling her to his chest and giving her a hug. He heard her sob suddenly, he could feel her shoulders shaking under his arms. He held her out at arms length and looked at her tear streaked face. "Tell me everything." He smiled pulling her towards his couch.

Brenty-

Brent pulled Caiden into a hug. He knew how stubborn headed his friend could be.

"He's just stubborn, no one knows who helped them in," Brent tilted Caiden's face up so he could look at her. "He is just hurt because he might be afraid that your right and he put his trust in the wrong people."

"I don't know," She sobbed, "H-h-he said he knew them well enough to know it wasn't them. He s-said it could've been S-slade." Her sobs caused her to cry. Brent pulled her back into a hug.

"Don't worry, he will come around. He might even come and apologize." Brent said.

Colt-

"I'll be back." Colt hissed to everyone, he needed to talk to Brent. He had never bothered to knock. As he walked in he froze. Brent had Caiden in his arms and they were sitting on the couch. Brent looked up a frown on his face. Caiden looked up and a look of horror came to her face.

"Colt!" She started to say something but he cut her off.

"That's just great, Caiden, you blame my friends for trying to kill us then go behind my back and hook up with my best friend. Just wonderful." Colt hissed his anger boiling. "Thanks, Brent, your a GREAT friend." Colt spun around and stormed off.

Caiden immideatly got up and started chasing after him, wishing that she knew some way to get him to stop and talk to her. "Colt!" she shouted following him down the hall and onto the street. "Colt!" she screamed, "turn your ass around and talk to me!"

Colt-

Colt stopped and turned around slowly, "Why, so you can make up some excuse and expect me to just come crawling back?" He demanded, "Your already accusing my friends of something they wouldn't do. And you were curled up on my bestfriends couch, with him." Colt said,

"You don't understand, Colt." Caiden said, he saw tears welling up in her eyes probably another one of her tricks. She was a vampire hunter anyway. She would know how to decive someone.

"No, I think I do, you don't like vampires. Just admit it." He threw his hands up and shook his head. "I don't know how I let my guard down, I thought you felt the same way a bout me as I did you. I guess I was wrong." He spun around and stormed off.

Caiden stared down at her feet, her mind racing exploding every feeling she had for him, "if what I feel is not real, I don't know what real is." With that she ran off, not wanting to see his reaction.

She ran into her house, slammed the door shut, and ran into her room, sobbing uncontrolably into her pillow.

"Aww," a cold sadistic voice said, "why is the little vampire girl crying?"

She looked up to see a werewolf on the verdge of transformation just before something covered her head and bound her hands. After which she knew no more.

Brenty-

Brent ran outside to see Caiden climbing in her truck, tears rolling down her cheeks. She speed off, Colt was storming towards the entrance, idiot wasn't even being careful of the sun. Brent ran over to him.

"Don't try, Brent, I don't want to hear it." Colt hissed slipping into a shadow.

"No, you are going to hear it and you are going to stay put until you hear every last bit of it." Brent replied following him. "Caiden came to me because she was upset. She didn't know why you were so angry with her and she didn't know where else to go. She just wanted someone to listen to her and you wouldn't do that. Colt, you are impossible."

Colt-

Colt's heart lept up into his throat, what had he done.

"And if I might add she was right," Slade said walking over. Colt looked at him frowning.

"About?" Colt demanded,

"I over heard Brent, not him the other one, talking about your wards and how to take them down with out you knowing. You might want to check up on Caiden." Slade replied, just then Colt's pocket vibrated. He yanked his phone out. The number was unregistered.

"Hello?" He answered,

"If you want your pretty little vampire girl I suggest you listen and you listen carefully." A deep voice growled over the phone.

After what seemed like an eternity the hood was pulled off. "You're "guard" is on the line little vampire," one of them said.

"Guard?"

"The vampire that keeps saving your neck."

"Colt," she breathed panic rising in her throat.

"Tell him to hurry," one of the werewolves said, "tell him to hurry or we'll kill you."

The phone was put up to Caiden's head, "Colt, don't come!" She screamed, "don't come and get yourself killed over me!" she started to sob, "don't waste your life on me."

She was kicked in the ribs and she screamed as the pain rushed through her, even though she knew the rib would soon heal.

I wondered why we put villains in our stories when we have plenty of them in real life; then I realized that maybe we wanted stories where the good guy wins.
