The Random Vampire Story [1]

Colt was tempted to turn towards the hospital and see what was wrong with her there instead of talking to 'Brenty'. He decided against it though, he didn't want to let on to the hint of jealousy he was feeling towards his friend at the moment.
"He is alot nicer then Brent the vampire too." Colt smiled leading her up to his apartment.

"Just adding to why he's cuter than the vampire Brent," she made a face when she said the name, "he really doesn't trust me."

"You're a slayer," Colt pointed out, "he doesn't even trust humans."

"And I'm just extra un-trustworthy then aren't I?"

He rubbed her shoulder, "he'll get over it."

Caiden yawned and put more weight on Colt still feeling tired.

Colt wrapped her arm around her to support her more. He got her to lay on the couch and walked next door to get Brent.

"What?" Brent asked opening it.

"I need you to take a look at Caiden, she doesn't look good." Colt said, Brent nodded and followed him back to his apartment.

Caiden smiled when she saw Colt leaned over her and her smile didn't falter when she saw Brenty standing just behind him.

"Hey Brenty," she said, "come to figure out what's wrong with me?"

"Brenty?"

"It's cuter than Brent and I had to get a different name for one of you."

"Ah," he said, "and yes."

Colt watched as Brenty took Caiden's pulse, looked in her eyes, took her temperature. And anything else that seemed important.

Intense pain filled every core of my body when Brent touched my stomache and I cried out and withered. A quizzical look crossed both their faces and they lifted my shirt up just enough to see my stomach.

"Good-God" Brent breathed and I looked to see what it was. It looked like my entire abdomen was covered in one giant bruise.

Colt's eyes widened at the site of the bruise.

"W..what is that?" He asked, Brenty leaned back and exhaled air.

"Well," He stood up. "She's bleeding internally, and badly."

Caiden didn't know much about the technical terms for medicine, but that was something she knew was bad. She fought for the right to stay concious and kept failing and winning.

"We need to get her to the hospital," Brent said.

"The werewolves are out there," one of the vampire's said.

"Damn the werewolves!" Colt shouted, "we can out run them!"

Colt picked her up and ran outside. There were a few werewolves at the entrance of the complex. He dashed towards his truck when they ran towards him. He jumped in his truck and laid Caiden carefully beside him. He reved the engine and rushed to the hospital.

Caiden drew her knees up to her chest and winced putting them back down again, every little movement cost her dearly in both her energy and how much pain she could endure.

Colt took her hand and she gripped it tight, the only thing remaining still in a now spinning world. "Colt," she breathed in total anguish.

Colt stopped at the hospital and picked Caiden up running her inside. "If worse comes to worse I'll just change you." He whispered in her ear.

"Whats wrong?" A nurse asked when he came in.

"She is bleeding internally, she needs help, NOW." He replied. The nurse spun around and ran off, Colt following her.

Caiden clung to Colt as tightly as she could without inflicting anymore pain into herself.

"It hurts," she mumbled.

"I know, love, I know," he said, "we gonna make it stop."

"Hurry," she pleaded. She knew she was dying, and she'd rather not die in extream pain.

Colt was excorted to an examining room where the doctor started to look her over.

"What are you doing?" Colt demanded,

"Seeing what is wrong with her." The doctor replied,

"We know what is wrong with her, now HELP HER!" He hissed, "Or so help me I'll make you."

The doctor prodded her stomach and Caiden screamed and arched off the cot. "Make it stop," she pleaded as she sobbed.

Colt's arms pinned her back to the cot, "we are," he tried to assure her and turned to the doctor, "aren't we?"

The doctor shook his head, "there's nothing we can do."

"WHAT!" Colt wanted to tear the man's head off, what did he mean there was nothing to do.

"It has progressed to far, there is nothing we can do." The doctor replied.

"I'm sure there is something you can do." Colt said walking over to him. "If you think cost will be a problem it wont, so is there something, anything you can do?"

"No," The doctor replied.

"NO!" Colt gawked, "Listen to me, if I EVER find out you were wrong, I'll kill you and...."

"Colt, stop." Caiden pleaded. Colt ran over to her and looked down at her.
