Your painting is beautiful, and I love the idea of having a whole ceiling covered in paintings, that would probably be one of the best places for learning art. Though the idea that one's work eventually gets covered is sad... But I guess nothing lasts forever so. Anyways, keep up the good work

@TheWeirdoFromBeyond thank you!! YES! If you wanted inspiration, you'd just take a stroll around the classroom with your chin tipped upward. It is very sad, though!! It's better than chalk art, though, which is sprayed off in a mere two days! It must be one of the worst jobs in the world to be the gardeners who have to blast away all those masterpieces ;-;

@Europa *good gurl (I get that it's confusing because she's decked out in Bob gear xD)

Wolfical, this is a really interesting topic to read through because you can see so clearly how your artistic style has changed and improved over time. Really love all your sketches!
@Nate!!! O: This is a huge honor! Thank you so much!

I ended up stalking this again and holy goodness Wolfie. Your art is so freaking awesome, I can't even comprehend it <3 You're doing so great, it's amazing ^^
@SpiritedWolfe aaaw thank you so much Wolfe! <3 Holy goodness haha xD

Here's my midterm for my art class! The scanner was a little bit too small so a tiny bit of the right edges are cut off or blurry, but it's a lot better than pictures my phone could take.
This is based off of the real-life events of Lastania Abarta. I changed a few things to shorten the narrative (I only had about a week to plan and create this), but it covers the gist of it and the message I wanted to get across. I used watercolor and a brown fine point sharpie marker. There's plenty of mistakes and bad anatomy and stuff, but overall I'm happy with it! And it was a lot of fun to make. As well as sleep-depriving. But it was worth it. d:
If you're confused about the message and the connection to the blind mules, I'd be happy to explain further. And also interested to hear your interpretation. o:

For my final project in art this quarter, I painted on vinyls! Three of them, both sides, for a total of six paintings. I went to the general store on campus (they have vinylssss) and spent only $3 each on each one (cheaper than your typical canvas!). I spent way too much time than was necessary deciding which poor three I would render useless, and still felt bad painting over them.
This is a tribute to Paul Simon! I split up his career into three parts (one for each vinyl) and I adjusted my art style in a way that mirrored how he adjusted his music style, in a way: I became more loose and experimental with the painting and the lyrics as I went.
Some random things: Spoiler
- I did all these in one weekend. Started on a Friday night and finished before it was due early Monday morning. I didn't get much sleep. d: - Side B is the kind of stuff I painted for a long time. I just copied photos. So that's the style I started with, and for the rest of the Paul paintings I became less and less dependent on references. - Side E marks his world music explosion where he started collaborating with a bunch of other different artists around the world! Therefore, whereas I used my own hand print for the other vinyls, this one has the hand prints of over a dozen different people. I had friends and suitemates come into our dorm, and then I'd ask what their favorite color is and have them plop it down anywhere they wanted. After it all dried, I wrote/painted scraps of lyrics that are either in different languages or about the world and stuff d: - The last side has a lot of white space left to account for the portion of his career that hasn't yet happened. He might've finished his farewell tour this year, but I know he ain't totally done yet!! - Side F also shows the globe because he kept environmentalism at the center of his farewell tour, and donated most of the tour money to foundations to help the Earth.

I'm definitely interested in painting on vinyls in the future. They would make neat gifts!
