A deep dark forest,
Such is the opposite of loving,
Yet, it holds so much
Being the only thing between us.
-
-
But the forest holds signs,
The wind, whispering in my voice, things;
Our love, and secrets
That I’ll only ever trust with you.
-
-
A song I would sing,
The rhythm beaten out by your feet,
You swear you hear it
Resonating from untrodden earth.
-
-
And in a fortress
Of gold light and thick green foliage
I wait forever,
As you search the never ending woods
-
-
The forest will blow away with storms
And leave us a home,
All our love, and a world filled with light.

I love the lighthearted openness of this poem it is truly a ravishing image. A plus to it is, I love the forest so that just put the cherry on top and I love that you tied pieces of the forest into it which added great imagery, especially with this line "Resonating from untrodden earth." I love this, I can only imagine, if sound had an image, the way it would waver up from the earth and flow through the mind. This piece was excellent and I love how you capture all this positive, after it first starts out a dark forest but takes a turn to show how it is laced with the trust and many secrets and the dark laces of love. This poem was well written and the words you used were creative, like "untrodden" instead of untouched, "foliage" instead of plants, and many more but if I keep it up this review will go on forever, but that only proves just how much i liked this. it was very creative and the metaphors were genuine. This was a great poem and you have a lot of talent for happy and deeply emotional poems and i find that rather interesting because most poems now are dark and about pain that manipulates one's mind but yours is the total opposite and that in itself is just incredible. So keep it up, and again, great job. I loved it
Hi there,
I really enjoyed reading this. I think your imagery works really well and I feel happier once I've read it so well done.
I loved this line here:
'Resonating from untrodden earth.'
I just think the language you've used is really nice and appropriate for what you're discussing in your poem. I like the idea of the untrodden Earth becoming alive for the first time with resonations from two undiscovered lovers. It's a nice thoughts and well executed as well.
They way you've incorporated the idea of the forest bringing two people together is excellent as well. It's like the forest is the shell and their love is an egg. It takes a storm to crack the shell and the egg to hatch. You've written it really well and I look forward to reading more of your work again.
Good job and keep writing,
H.L.P
This poem is very nice, and I like that it ends on a sweet note.
"A song I would sing,
The rhythm beaten out by your feet,
You swear you hear it
Resonating from untrodden earth."
My favorite lines. They have that whimsical feel to them, but you can sense the symbolism in them as well.
My only complaint is that nothing rhymes. Whenever I read a poem with this sort of style, the consistent bum, bum...bum, bum...rhythm, I expect the lines to rhyme.
But other than that, good work!
Thank you rhiasofia!
Hey, Rainbow here!
I completely agree with Subtle Sanity. Your poem is amazing, and I love the extended metaphor of the forest resembling finding one's true love. Besides your wonderful metaphor, this poem is super adorable and the ending is fantastic!
Hey there, Subtle here for a review, once again! I apologize for any mistakes. I love the title, it has a very romantical and mystical feelings to it. Is actually what attracted me to read this.
I like this poem, because I find it intriguing that you have cooperated love into the forest so seamlessly, and the imagery and metaphors you have used is quite excellent as well. My favorite is probably the fourth stanza, a fortress of golden log and thick green foliage. Really, is quite lovely.
And the ending is such a hopeful ending, leaving the reader with a pleasant, light hearted feeling. Thank you for sharing this work with us! And best of luck in your future writing!

Thank you so much!
