gorgeous
thank youuu <3
I love poetry that has jagged spaces or maintains a shape of some kind. Excellent work! I like the font change that happens after the first jagged space. This captures very well what the year was like, in my opinion.
Also, I adore the description words you used! Your writing style is lovely. The line “fatigue ticks me into her bed” feels very powerful to me as well.
Overall, a wonderful read!
Keep up the great work, and I hope you have a wonderful day/night.
Hey! I haven't reviewed any of your works before, but I'm super excited for this one.
The editing and format was what caught my eye first, and even though it often gets hard to read a work with jagged lines, I feel like it really suits the premise here.
The vocabulary is absolutely lovely and sumptuous. Some poems are just made for free verse, and you can clearly see that here. Wonderful language. Every single word is insanely relatable. I didn't think there were so many starting off 2026 with angst, but here we are. Same bro, same.
The language is amazingly descriptive too, and the wordplay is fantastically smart.
"Injection of malaise" kill me now
"Fatigue tucks me into her bed" brb SOBBING
The whole "Sink me to the ocean part" editing is really clever, well done.
"Suspended withing......sea,.....release." This part is great because the sea pressure is exactly the opposite of a release, but sometimes we focus on external hurts to make the internal pain go away. Like biting down on your teeth to make a headache go away. Just waiting for release to be delivered by the pressure.
This whole poem feels like that liminal headspace one gets into when you've been crying for a long time, and the tears are getting less and less salty, and the edges of vision are blurring too. The capacity of pain has been blown out of proportion, and your sitting with the cracked pieces of your mind beside you.
I feel like when reviewing, there's good parts to focus on and bad parts to point out, but your work has me wanting to rave about every single line.
There's a good bit of poetic license, alliteration and consonance, and the lack of capitalization gives a great edge, but there are some parts where I find the punctuation a tiny bit lacking. It can help the rhythm a bit to add in a few full stops here and there.
All in all, couldn't find much of anything that's wrong here. Extremely relatable, seems very well thought out, loved it. <3333
I'm genuinely looking forward to reading more of your works. You're making me want to write smth too.
thank you for your review!
