Simple
 
Just for a moment time freezes,
I feel the warm, summer air on my skin,
the soft dirt underneath me.
Nothing bad can ever get me.
 
Just for a moment time freezes,
flashlights glimmer across the night’s blackness
revealing the beautiful, smiling faces
of my amazing friends sitting in a circle talking.
Laughing, loving, living.
 
Just for a moment time freezes,
secrets echo around the tent,
stories are told, some sad, some scary, some funny,
laughing fills the night sky
and we forget the rest of the world.
 
Just for a moment time freezes,
the smell of the trees,
the dirt,
and the star-filled sky
encase me.
 
Just for a moment time freezes
we pass around the candy
and the chocolate melts on my tongue
tasting as sweet as this moment,
that I wish would never end
 
Nothing can hurt us.
Stress is inexistent,
drama has disappeared completely.
We realize that this is what life’s about
and nothing in the world can steal our smiles, or silence our laughs.
We live; forgetting the past, the future, everything besides right now.
 
Just for a moment time freezes
and everything, is simple.
