This is the prologue to the book I'm currently working on; enjoy.
The world is not all that it seems to be. Humans think they know everything, but in true reality, their knowledge is limited to what they see and perceive.
There are objects which the human eyes cannot see; colors which are unfeasibly unidentifiable; and sounds that are impossible to hear.
Humans think that the orderly operations of familiar natural laws are all there is about the place we call earth. However, there is more to the world than meets the eye. There are forces in existence that are so inexplicable, that the humans ignore them as insignificant anomalies.
Due to the incomprehensibility of these forces, and how they seem incongruous with the normal human laws and logical paradigms, human researchers neglect them and term them ‘supernatural’.
It is regarded supernatural because it goes against the so called ‘laws of science’. In true reality, there is no such thing as laws of science. If these unbreakable laws have been broken by latent natural forces, why then are they still accepted as laws?
There are certain people whose senses are so perspicacious that they are able to break through the barrier of the superficial human world into the world of anomalies and logical irregularities.
These individuals have the ability to see and interact with the unknown. Since the creation of man, they people have been in existence. Known by many names by many cultures all over the world, their true abilities have been kept secret from the rest of the world.
In modern times, they are known as ‘Psychics’.

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
I loved this. I'm all into the fact of spirit worlds, realms, societies, these all fascinate me but regardless of that, I enjoyed this entire prologue, for it was explained dutifully with your idea, now if you can just post a chapter soon everything will be all great for me, later
A good intro and I guess it works as a prologue. I’d advise you to use it as a premise instead though and begin the story with a chapter rather than a prologue. Just personal opinion, I feel such a story can be presented better if you begin directly and reveal the mystery/world piece by piece rather than summarise/foreshadow in the intro.
You have a pretty nice idea there though, keep on writing
I have to agree with wheretwoworldstouch, this is quite intense(and I like it!).
And you put a comma in this sentence,
"There are forces in existence that are so inexplicable, that the humans ignore them as insignificant anomalies."
I think it would sound better without it. But that may just be me.
I really liked the tone.
This definitely sounds like it could easily turn out to be the type of book I'd pick up and think really hard about buying at a book store(I don't normally buy books.I usually get them from the library and only buy it if it was really good and I know I'll want to read it again(or make one of my friends read it)).
And I also liked how you waited till the end to actually say the word 'psychics.'
Great job! I can't wait to read more!!!
This is quite intense. I like the idea behind it, it's fascinating. It felt as though I was reading it out of a news article.
Thanks
