Quote of the Day: “To desire to be good despite living a horrid life, that in itself is no true Divinity. Arise, awake and stop not till the world is worthy to be called ‘good’ in your eyes – that is true Divinity.” – Miaokuran
Continuing the journal after a lunch break, there’s a lot for me to break down so buckle up, Jesse!
Now, let's pick up the pace and go back to my usual style… It's honestly been a while so I don’t even remember how I used to write. Well, I am just going to write however I feel like.
Where was I? Oh right-
Miaokuran dropped me to the ground as Sherlock shot a bullet from his Webley. My recalibrated Perception Acceleration alerted me to the instantaneous creation and annihilation of a Spatial conceptual barrier, as the bullet from Sherlock’s gun lodged itself in Miaokuran’s head and completely evaporated her body from this plane of Existence.
I mean it literally, the Field Signature became undefined and then dropped to zero.
At that moment, the Fear that gripped my very core completely disappeared and I was finally able to breathe a rather anti-climactic sigh of relief.
But, as you might remember, Jesse – Infinite Beings do not die even when their bodies are destroyed.
Miaokuran reconstituted herself back at the exact same place where she disappeared from.
“You sly heretic,” Miaokuran yelled in her weird cat-like French accent, “how dare you snatch the Fear Prox-?”
Sherlock shot her in the head in the middle of her sentence. The physical body of the Tertiary Infinite Being of Space was once again erased as Sherlock absentmindedly inspected an earthen cup.
Listen, Jesse, I might have told you that I love powerscaling – but not when it is just sad. Time holding a cup of Tea in his hand while casually shooting Space in her head is too ridiculous to even comment on.
But I have seen more ridiculous things than this so I am just going to continue.
“What happened to BOTSAMA?” I asked.
“I have assimilated it in this gun,” Sherlock shot a bullet into the sky as another Miaokuran evaporated right in front of him. “It had a dream, perchance rooted in the best of intentions, yet it would be irresponsible for me to let it into fruition.”
“Um…”
I turned around to see a broken rubbery hand slowly rise from the rubble. It wiggled softly in pain before the owner of the hand had a realisation and just burst out of the rubble and pirouetted into a perfect relevé… and fell face flat on the ground.
“...Are you okay?” I rushed towards it as it scratched the back of its large compass head.
“Da-daijobu desu! (I-I’m fine!)” Tokiminus replied in Japanese, “It’s… It’s… It’s just-t scary…”
“Do not be afraid, old chap,” Sherlock said, “You have the inklings of a positively ridiculous Natura.”
Oh right, I forgot to mention, Sherlock was casually shooting in random directions that were nowhere close to where Miaokuran appeared and still erased her body instantaneously… literally. She disappeared and reappeared every second or so (there were minor discrepancies) while the following conversation occurred.
“…Strong Natura…?” Tokiminus looked at him with puppy-compass eyes. “What does that mean?”
“Everything in Existence has a Natura,” Sherlock explained, “even Existence Itself is theorised to have a Natura and we all are parts of it. Also called the Will of an individual or an entity, it is the sum of all Proximi running through them.”
“Uh…” I asked, completely ignoring the fact that another Miaokuran appeared right above me. “How is the will of an individual related to the Proximi passing through them? Or, is the Will you’re talking about and one’s will in general different things?”
“They are the same,” said Sherlock while casually shooting another Miaokuran into oblivion. “The Will of everything in Existence is dependent on their origins. Surely, one wouldn’t expect a chicken egg and the moon to have the same type of Will, would they?”
“That… makes sense, though I would prefer a more rigid definition.”
“Examplis gratia,” Sherlock continued, “The Will of an AI with infinite processing power is greater than that of a Cat, despite the former being assimilated and the latter being the Prophet of God.”
“But…” I interrupted, “she is a talking cat who wants to enforce Fate and is literally Space… All of that must also be a part of her Natura, right?”
My interruption was interrupted by a Miaokuran spawning right inside me before being instantly annihilated once again.
“Of course,” he responded like nothing even happened, “that is quite true. However, to put it rather crudely, despite being a Tertiary Infinite Being – she has not yet completely adapted to the level of one. Her Natura is still that of an infant compared to entities like BOTSAMA and even Kuttasloka, her apparent advisor.”
“Um… I dunno anything about this stuff but…” Tokiminus asked meekly, “what does that mean actually? Like, uh, uh… um, like… uh… you are Time, you know everything, you get what I mean, right?”
“That’s a good question,” said Sherlock, “however I believe you do not understand the sheer scope of your question either.”
A humongous holographic display appeared above us.
“So, let me show you.”
The display spanned the entire sky and showed us who stood under the clouds. Then, it started zooming out, showing Japan, the Earth, the solar system, and eventually the entire infinite universe surrounded by a huge spherical barrier. Another barrier clashed violently with it, encompassing another universe.
“These are the so-called SAMAverses.”
Zooming out even further, we saw thousands of pairs of universes clash into each other and the ones without a conceptual barrier glitching out of Existence entirely.
“This is the reality of the scale of calamity in infinite universes across Existence that Halcyon is dealing with, caused by the sudden change in the God Proximus and initiated by Zeus’ and Miaokuran’s Naturae.”
Zooming out even further and even faster, the infinite universes slowly appear to align themselves in a perfect plain sheet. Every timeline, every dimension, every idea, every concept and every physical and metaphysical object that can exist wiggled in between the sheet like threads sewing together the fabric of reality and non-reality.
“This is the omniverse. Everything in it has Naturae.”
Even further and even faster, at a speed beyond comprehension (at least I couldn’t comprehend it), the infinite universes were reduced to a singular dot as strange threads – different from the ones in the omniverse – arose out of nothingness and surrounded the dot. However, the nothingness wasn’t exactly nothing; something filled the area between the threads and the dot. And that something-
“That something, when you will eventually write this down, Sir Nine – is the Dark Field. Those bizarre ‘threads’ are the Proximi that make up Existence, and they are beyond anything and everything and nothing. The Dark Field lets the Proximi interact with the omniverse and vice versa, using their Naturae. Some Infinite Beings are direct manifestations of the Proximi into the omniverse while others are originally from the omniverse and eventually ended up conquering their Proximi. However, this is merely an artistic representatio-”
A loud bang shot out once again as another Miaokuran appeared and disappeared.
“Nevertheless, everything beyond this is mere conjecture, though Ramanujan would prefer the term hypothesis.”
Even still, the hologram zoomed out even further till even the threads reduced to a singular dot. And eventually, we reached a bizarre yet rather simple end image. A simple circle with a dot in its centre, touching another similar circle of equal size – all encompassed by a highly eccentric ellipse and surrounded by something beyond understanding exceeding ‘beyond’.
“These are the Quadrilaterals – Existence, Non-Existence, Existence-and-Non-Existence, and Neither-Existence-nor-Non-Existence. We theorise that these entities possess the greatest possible Naturae or Wills and thus supersede everything. And as we know-”
I sensed Miaokuran’s Field Signature appear at the edge of the infinite universe (yes, Jesse, unlike normal Fields – the Dark Field propagates instantaneously; that’s weird and that confused scientists and left them in the ‘dark’ for decades and that’s exactly why it’s called the Dark Field and I know this tangent is a bit too long), and instantaneously disappear with another loud bang.
With a sigh, Sherlock stared at me.
“And, as we know, one of them resides within you – rendering you an Existential anomaly.”
The hologram snapped back to Japan in SAMAverse-α, zooming back into Tokyo and into an overrun flowerbed right outside Akihabara station. It settled on top of a small, recently-dug ground covered by withering tiger lilies.
“Point of fact, we should traverse there to discuss this further.”
Sherlock disappeared with Tokiminus. I understood the assignment and Drived to the resting place of the Once-and-Future-King’s action figure endearingly buried by Six.
With another Miaokuran dead, Sherlock continued:
“Infinite Proximi run through this solemn little funeral, making up its Natura.”
“Um, yeah, I understand that but…” Tokiminus said, “…but why did we come here?”
“To demonstrate.”
A hologram lighted up from the ground showing a ball of threads of varying colours, with some more prominent than others. They danced and dallied around and across each other in a strange, chaotic, yet orderly pattern.
“For example, the Proximi of King Arthur, Life, Hope, Liberty, Humanity, Willpower, Despair, Death, Limerence, Funeral, and Anime – amongst others – are densely concentrated compared to others. While obscure or unrelated Proximi like Nathan’s Infidelity and Bengaluru are well-nigh absent.”
Therefore, any Infinite Being that could form out of this buried Saber figure cannot have Bengaluru in their Natura.”
Now that’s a sentence you’d only find in my diary, Jesse. Also, another Miaokuran avatar died.
“Now that we have described every form of Natura, animate and inanimate, we may delve into the specifics.”
The hologram transformed into a complete diagram of the Prophet of God. A rotating figure of Miaokuran hovered above us with percentages of various Proximi that pass through her is showcased.
“While the Proximus of Space makes up around 89.987% of her Natura, th-”
A Miaokuran avatar appeared right in the rotating holographic frame before being annihilated instantly… again. I know, Jesse, it’s a bit annoying every time I write that down. But, back when it actually happened, it was more of a jumpscare than an annoyance. Tokiminus jumped up every single time while I flinched, and Sherlock just continued nonchalantly because he had already shot Miaokuran in the past.
“-The rest of her Natura consists of God, Cat, French, Moody, Arrogance, and Loneliness, in order, amongst others. She is a Tertiary Infinite Being, therefore she would try to use Partial Realm Collapse the instant she could manifest in the omniverse again, and countering something that could completely paralyse the entire omniverse would be a Sisyphean task. She could try to do it outside of the omniverse too but-”
“Hold on right there,” I finally interjected for a point that I was still confused about, “what do you mean by ‘the omniverse’?”
“The totality of all phenomena and realities that may or may not be observed, of course.”
“But you just said that Proximi are beyond the omniverse, how does that make sense? The omniverse is defined as something not even fiction can go beyond, it is the totality of every possibility and beyond! You can’t just say the word ‘omniverse’ so casually-”
Sherlock Holmes sighed as another Miaokuran died.
“We have long abandoned Space, Time, Reality, Logic, Infinity, Concept and God Itself as pre-defined ideas, Sir Nine. Infinite Beings define Definition itself.”
He paused for a moment and looked up into the sky.
“We are parts of something far greater than any individual can be, yet we cherish individuality for we are individuals. Sir Nine, all of these ‘rules’ about Infinite Beings, Naturae, and the Dark Field have no inherent meaning or logic – for they are sacred only to humans. Existence does not need a reason to exist, it just does.”
He looked down to the ground as another Miaokuran found her doom.
“A being, with a Will strong enough to bend reality, who is not a stranger to their Natura can become an Infinite Being. If no other Infinite Being were to stop them, each Infinite Being could destroy and recreate the entire omniverse on a whim. The ‘omniverse’ isn't sacred, it's just a word. No word is sacred for no world is sacred.”
Suddenly, I heard a soft sob behind me.
“Then…” asked Tokiminus, “then… what is sacred?”
The anthropomorphic compass was sitting beside the lily grave looking up at the sky.
“Whatever has meaning to you, dear god of Negation, is sacred.”
“Then… what is sacred to you, Time?”
Sherlock Holmes smiled as another Miaokuran died.
“To ensure that, at the end of Time, during one’s halcyon days – none are disavowed Love, Life, and Liberty.”
“That…” Tokiminus’ comically large eyes became teary. “That’s… a lofty goal… a noble goal…”
The compass sighed.
“Unlike mine…”
It stood up.
“Throughout my little life, I have heard millions of prayers – of people begging to turn back time to rectify their mistakes… Yet, I could not help them nor console them, for the gods forbade me despite my powers. The duty of a god is to help, and I just wanted to help people… But… I am no god…”
It started walking.
“As my world descended into an apocalypse, billions cried out in agony as they turned into monsters or died in meaningless massacres. Yet, the gods cared only for themselves and ignored the mortals’ survival.”
It wept.
“As the AI and the Tea-lover fought across universes, I tried my best to hide as I cowered in fear of death… I have always cowered in fear… As if the helplessness of all the prayers I hear are imprinted upon my very soul. After all, gods are incarnations of mortal prayers.”
Suddenly, the piercing grey pupils in Sherlock’s eyes dilated.
Miaokuran appeared once again, but this time, she was not instantly annihilated.
Information – not a voice, more of a flashbang – flooded my brain instantly, screaming, “Liberty has fallen; Miaokuran has expanded into Liberty, reining free from BOTSAMA’s Natura and partially taking control over the strongest Proximus after God and Existence alongside Fate.”
Miaokuran did a strange haut monde laugh as her eyes glinted with glee.
Sherlock tried to shoot her again, but the bullet went straight through Miaokuran’s head as she chuckled and bellowed in her strange French accent:
“Voilà, detective! C'est la Liberté! C'est la Divinité!”
The strange voice in my head continued: “The counterpart to Fate, Liberty rejects the influence of any and all Proximi and Naturae, not merely physical or non-physical phenomena – except for God.”
Strangely enough, Tokiminus was still walking… and Miaokuran was directly in front of it.
“Liberty? Divinity?” asked Tokiminus in a strange fashion, completely unafraid of Miaokuran, “what do you think those words mean, Prophet?”
The same Tokiminus who was groveling on the ground just a few minutes before was now standing before its bully. Its large eyes tinted with a strange sparkle and its face glimmered with strange determination.
Jesse, I swear, I am repeating the word ‘strange’ for a reason.
“O frail infidel beyond Fate, you seek wisdom?” Miaokuran mocked in her strange French accent as she completely ignored another one of Sherlock’s bullets, “Liberty is the true power of God Himself. It is freedom, joy, chaos, and suffering all bound in a single name. It is the ability to do all you want for good, in the name of God.”
I had a strange foreboding that something was about to happen.
Tokiminus’ Field Signature was highly unstable, forming asymptotes, fading away,
rebounding and repeating. Miaokuran and Sherlock were playing mind games beyond my comprehension, Lady Liberty had somehow died, I had no idea what Six was doing nor any notion about Canta or Plume and the rest. GOATSAMA had died, BOTSAMA somehow became a tool. Sherlock started lecturing about Naturae and literally threw all of fiction out the window. And now the big compass of regrets is staring down an immortal cat for life advice.
How did I even end up here? Why is my life so strange and ridiculous?
Jesse, I swear I heard loud laughter in my head the moment I finished that last line.
Regardless, Time didn’t care about the ridiculous, for Time himself is ridiculous.
A flow of pure information entered my head as Sherlock’s eyebrows slightly twitched and he panicked (that’s what I inferred, because I have never seen him try all of this at the same time). He tried to simultaneously stop time, erase Miaokuran from every possible and impossible timeline, shoot a nonsensical Proximus, manipulate Space like a Temporal dimension, change Gravity’s effect on Space, break CPT symmetry, create unstable compactified Temporal dimensions nested within infinite universes without Space or Liberty or God across the omniverse – all trying to overload Miaokuran’s relatively weak Natura…
…Only to be met with a strange chuckle.
“This is Liberty, frail infidel, something that was once denied to me,” said Miaokuran, completely ignoring Sherlock’s attack, still looking down on Tokiminus.
Another flow of information entered my head, it was Sherlock's voice this time.
“Lady Liberty bound her Proximus with self-imposed rules. She uses Liberty only for defence for she believes in self-determination. If she wished, she could instantly take away Liberties of most Infinite Beings rendering them unable to even think, let alone defend. However, because of her own restrictions on herself, she relegates herself to a Unary Infinite Being while being capable of challenging God Himself. And well, all hell can break loose into a second pandemonium. Miaokuran doesn't have those restrictions now, does she?”
Miaokuran laughed strangely, probably getting a glimpse of that final sentence in the infodump. She glared at Sherlock, sneered at me, and then grabbed Tokiminus’ hands.
Tokiminus’ Field Signature had been rapidly spiking and disappearing, but the moment she touched it, its Field Signature completely vanished.
Miaokuran stole its Liberty to wield the Dark Field.
“Say, infidel,” Miaokuran mocked a god bereft of its powers, “what is your final wish before I erase your miserable existence and deal with that cornard? And dare not wish for mercy, for you are bound to death.”
But…
“Daga kotowaru. (But, I refuse.)”
“Quoi? (What?)”
I felt the Dark Field ripple in every direction and every dimension.
Tokiminus looked up at Miaokuran with determination. Tears swelled in its eyes as if Existence itself had refused to acknowledge it. Cracks appeared in Space and Time itself ground to a halt.
Sherlock hollered in my head, “When a near-Infinite Being with a strong Natura reaches complete self-realisation and understanding, a new Infinite Being is born.”
The Prophet of God – in her hubris – took away its Liberty, but could not take away its Will.
The Negative Time God now knew who it was, with its true Natura laid bare to itself. Nothing remained strange to its Will for it now knew itself – It was Nothing.
“Gods exist to help mortals,” said Tokiminus. “Mortals owe naught, and so I owe naught, to Fate or God.”
A black Field Signature emanated from its needles, something I had never seen before. I tried to analyse it, but I could literally see no Field perturbation… and I had no idea why.
Apparently, neither did Miaokuran. She leapt back with her mouth slightly open, visibly flabbergasted. A beam of white light emanated from her palm straight towards Tokiminus but got instantly repulsed by the black Field Signature.
“I said, I refuse your Fate, Prophet.”
“Nonsense!” Miaokuran shrieked. “Remember your place, infidel!”
Space distorted around Tokiminus and engulfed it in a bubble. Billions of Planck-scale dimensional cuts slashed and hacked at the bubble. Breaking apart all matter inside it, severing the vacuum itself, setting the Higgs potential to zero, creating infinite infinitesimal singularities – putting the energy of a thousand exploding suns in a human-sized bubble to eviscerate Tokiminus from the universe.
But it refused.
Time reversed, Negating the effects.
“But… that's impossible…” Miaokuran stuttered in astonishment. “You shouldn't even be able to use the Field!”
Sherlock lit a cigarette. He chuckled.
“Perhaps,” he said as he let out a ring of smoke, “your being has been so caught in your newfound powers that your eyes pretended not to notice the newborn Infinite Being right in front of your eyes.”
Miaokuran stared blankly for a moment before completely freaking out.
“This.. this… THIS CAN'T BE! I didn't even register it… Negation… AN EMPTY PROXIMUS? IT PASSES THROUGH NOTHING ELSE IN EXISTENCE? NOTHING PASSES THROUGH IT EITHER? This… This shouldn't exist… THIS CAN'T EXIST!”
Information flowed in my head: The Infinite Being of Negation, unaffected by any and all phenomena. A Proximus that doesn't intersect with any other Proximus, thus no Proximus could affect it and vice versa. It is simultaneously the strongest and weakest Proximus at once. One could think of it as the dialetheic complement to every set, including itself. Tokiminus finally embraced its Natura of negativity and regrets, rejecting the cruelty of its world.
“You cannot be!” Miaokuran screamed.
Desperately attacking with every possible Proximus in her Natura, Miaokuran lashed away with spectral whips of ethereal light of every colour in the visible spectrum…
“I am,” Negation replied. “I am no God nor Prophet, but I am. I exist. I deserve to exist. And no god can dictate my will. No more.”
…Only to be thwarted by the black Field Signature surrounding the newborn Infinite Being.
Information flowed through my head. Again, Sherlock’s voice said, “This isn't over yet, Sir Nine. Miaokuran is currently distracted by Negation, but she can commit to a Total Realm Collapse any moment. Space, God, Fate, and Liberty – even a Partial Realm Collapse of either of the latter three could erase the omniverse… and unfortunately, I have no way to stop her. Only her hubris and pride lies in the way to total annihilation.”
“But,” I replied verbally, “can't you just revert it back after you defeat her? Also, you can just use your own Realm Collapse, right? You are an Infinite Being after all, and it was you who said that one of those could recreate the entire omniverse on a whim. And I am sure no Infinite Being would disagree with having the omniverse being recreated… right?”
Sherlock took another puff while Miaokuran threw ∞-D fractal geometries and acausal spacetime manifolds at Tokiminus to no avail in the background.
“Sir Nine,” said Sherlock, “I am no God.”
“What does that mean?”
“Have you died infinitely many times? Have you killed infinitely many times? Have you laughed infinitely many times? Have you cried infinitely many times?”
“…No…?”
“Then, how can you fathom the burden of erasing all of that just to recreate it again?”
“Uh…”
“Infinite criminals, infinite heroes, infinite injustice, infinite mercy, infinite births, infinite deaths, infinite wrongs, infinite rights, infinite darkness, infinite light – and all the infinitudes of grey in between; if you were to recreate everything, how would you decide what to keep and what to erase?”
Now, Jesse – I swear I am not flexing but – I am the most popular songwriter in my universe, I have won Nobel Prizes in every category by age 15, I have invented hundreds of gadgets, I have published thousands of papers… so I believe I have a decent justification for thinking I’m kinda smart.
I’ve never been so completely baffled by a question before. I guess I am not that good in the philosophy department.
“I’m afraid I cannot use my final card so trivially, sir Nine,” Sherlock continued. “Fate itself has been Negated by Mage Tokiminus, therefore I cannot use prescience to determine when Miaokuran would use her Realm Collapse. However, there's no denying it, she would eventually use it. Only a few could stop her now, but I am not one of them.”
He sighed, rubbed the butt of the cigarette on the earthen teacup and put it on the ground.
“I am sorry, Watson.”
He looked up at the sky and stood still without a word, his deerstalker held to his chest.
Meanwhile, Miaokuran was losing her mind while attacking Tokiminus with the French flag and the sky itself…
“YOU CANNOT REFUSE THE DIVINE, INFIDEL! GOD CREATED YOU! YOU KNOW NAUGHT OF DIVINITY TO CHALLENGE IT!”
…To no effect, of course.
“What is true divinity then, Prophet? Is it merely the wish to be good, despite suffering from His other creations, that lets you get closer to God?”
“To desire to be good despite living a horrid life, that in itself is no true Divinity. Arise, awake and stop not till the world is worthy to be called ‘good’ in your eyes – that is true Divinity.”
The compass laughed.
“Then, why not let me change my world? Why are you afraid of my existence? Why do you want to stamp on my hopes and dreams?”
She paused for a moment before responding.
“Your existence beyond Fate disrupts all of Existence. Your hopes and dreams are secondary to the very structure of Existence that God Himself designed. The chaos that you could create-”
“I refuse such a God.”
“WHAT DID YOU S-?”
I am tired of their bickering to be honest, so I won't describe it further.
Now, Jesse, you might ask why I was standing there doing nothing. I asked myself the same. I would like to reply to that with the same thoughts I had then… What the hell am I supposed to do?
Literal gods were fighting in front of me, Time himself had given up, I had no idea what the others were doing, all concepts and ideas I once held sacred were being shattered left and right. What could I even do when literally Logic itself had been rendered meaningless?
I had to do something – literally everything was at stake – but I had no idea what or how. I then remembered that I was a vessel of Non-Existence but I had no idea how to take advantage of that. Only if I could somehow harness the same power that could somehow cause the erasure of the Dark Field itself…
While I was reflecting upon all that, something hit the back of my head at instantaneous speeds that I could not respond to. I could not help but fall face first to the ground, completely immobilised. I became almost paralysed and I could barely think.
I managed to slowly look up and saw Miaokuran simultaneously attacking Sherlock and Tokiminus with concepts I couldn't process or understand.
Pure information flowed in my head: Miaokuran had taken away my Liberties. I shouldn't even be able to process information but Sherlock is trying his best to prevent it. He is using his own partial control over Liberty to counter it. Miaokuran had also started to attempt expanding into Negation but again, Sherlock is attempting to stop it. However, it's untenable and the tides of battle could shift at any mome-
“It has shifted,” Miaokuran proclaimed.
An ∞-dimensional cut slashed through Tokiminus as Sherlock tried his best to reverse time. However, with a snap of her fingers, Miaokuran predestined the cut using the Fate Proximus.
This time, Negation had been negated, Miaokuran had expanded into Tokiminus’ Realm. Sherlock couldn't fight a two-front war and Tokiminus’ Natura was that of a Unary Being, no match for the Prophet of God.
In the end, it was only a matter of time.
“Now, infidels,” Miaokuran declared, “the time for judgment has arrived.”
At that moment, a bubble burst above us and I heard an extremely familiar voice shriek.
“Kyu-kun!”
I had barely managed to look up and see Six dashing towards me when Miaokuran snapped her fingers again.
“I prohibit motion.”
And as all Existence stopped in its tracks bringing utter chaos to the omniverse, Miaokuran heralded its doom.
“In the name of the Lord and Eternal Glory,
Let Fate conquer Liberty and rewrite every story,
For hopes and dreams only lead to despair and angst –
Realm Collapse, Perfection: Shadow of the Sacrosanct.”

Wait, Jesse, Sherlock is calling me to the Halcyon Council Meeting for Judgment. Maybe I will ask him to help me describe this. See you!
