Are You Happy?

E - Everyone

In Narrative Poetry

I never write positive stuff or have a good way with words

But the life I have is full of negative side-effects

I’m never happy and the reason why

People mistreat me and always say goodbye

I’m sad because people like you never see why

That when you hurt someone so much they seem to die inside

You never feel guilty or apologise

So how am I supposed to be positive when you’re the reason why

That I’m a broken soldier, giving up on the fight.

I was happy once before you took that away

Life say’s everything happens for a reason but you’re the one to blame

You made my life a living hell, are you happy that you did?

When I’ve never done anything to you, so why should you do that do me?

Many years of my life has been full of sadness and despair

Because people like you don’t seem to care

That you ruined someone’s life over and over again

You stabbed me in the heart a thousand times that it broke

And all that’s left is shattered pieces

Of a person that was once happy now cries to sleep at night

Trapped by nightmares and lost dreams.

Are you happy that you made me cry?

Are you happy that I don't smile anymore?

Are you happy?

I can really relate to this poem because I get bullied a lot. I really agree with the lines "Are you happy that you made me cry?" because I cry a lot because of stupid people at my school who some how find joy in the sadistic act of bullying. I'm also really glad that someone has made a poem about it showing how other people feel.I really just want to thank you for making this poem.

Thanks childofApollo777 :) I just thought it was about time, I told people how I felt, so I'm glad that you can relate to this.

A couple things.

Life say’s everything happens for a reason but you’re the one to blame

The sentence your going for is "They say everything happens for a reason". That sentence also tends to end the narrator stating that he/she cannot find a reason. You however did not do this, you said that "you're the one to blame." Logically speaking this would turn the sentence into a statement of fact. You don't want that.

There are a bunch of syntax errors you might wanna check over.

The formatting on this needs some work. Your stanzas need to be distinguishable unless you were going for more of a speech.

Hi! Adreamer here.
The idea of the poem is genuine and the genuineness seeps through the words.
The feeling of hopelessness is created in a believable manner.
If you are being bullied then make sure you report it.
It is a serious issue.
Most often the bullied ones remain intimidated by bullies and like mentioned in poem it affect s all aspects of their life.
This poem truly speaks from the victim's point of view.
Instead of giving up though won't it be better to just let go and stop being so affected by the antics of bullies?( assuming its all verbal not physical hurting)
Coming back to poem, there are few places lacking commas and some lines would be better if split and wrote in two lines.
Overall it is an amazing piece of work.
Keep writing.
Hope to get a happy ending to your upcoming poems.
All the best.

Hey! (I'm new to this website so if my review seems unhelpful or bland please let me know!)

Anyways, I am not a big fan of cliched sappy teenage poems but this poem seemed nice. I really appreciated the effort and emotion you put into it, it flowed nicely (it could actually flow even nicer if you cut a few things out since it seemed a bit repetitive). There seem to be many commas, try putting in some periods where they seem acceptable. Also, try eliminating dead words such as "happy" and "sad". In conclusion, look over your poem a little more and make sure to check over grammar and see if you can cut anything out to make it short and sweet.

Keep contributing to the writing world! :D

Hey I'm here to review your poem and tell you what I think of it. Everything I say is just my opinion and I am well aware that my opinion has no affect on your life and your writing.
Sorry about that. I just feel it's best to explain where I am coming from because I know I can be blunt at times.
"I never write positive stuff or have a good way with words,

But the life I have is full of negative side-effects,"
I found these two lines incredibly confusing. I'm still trying to figure out what you are saying.
I related to this poem a ton and I think a lot of people would find it to be so too (does that even make sense? xD ). I've noticed that you kind of over do it on the grammar and punctuation. You don't need a comma at the end of every line. Remember that a comma indicates a short pause which can often disrupt the flow and rhythm of the poem. The repetition of the last three lines 'are you happy' didn't seem to give me chills like I know they should. I feel like it's a little dragged on and doesn't really I don't know... I guess I just didn't feel it.

Anyway that's just me trying to help. Ignore me if you chose to do so,
Rachel :D

Greetings from The Swordsman,

This poem strikes a very strong nerve that is a very big topic in our society right now. I appreciate how you are showing people the aspect of bullying from the aspect of the victims. But As I am reading this I am actually wondering something, whether this is actually there or not is maybe me over thinking it. Is this the view of the victim? Or the bully? Many times the bully is as much a victim as those that they bully, just there is a bigger meaner bully on them.

I appreciate our writing in the fact that it is both clear in its message but left up to the reader as to who it is actually coming from. I am not a very big poet myself, so I can't find much fault in it. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Happy Writing!

Wow, can totally relate to this!. I love the layout of the poem and how you really expressed your feelings, It's a really strong poem. Whenever I read your poems, I feel so much emotion, I can either feel sad or happy and even both at the same time. I like how you ask the questions at the end to really show how much you've been affected and I also like that it's not too descriptive and it's just straight out, good job.

I love this poem! I can't wait to see more :) -GhostHunter

thanks GhostHunter, it means alot :)
