Ten Things I Know About Love

I never write about myself, or even things I know like I'm supposed to, and decided I'd give it a go.

I. The length of my best friends legs,

warmth drawn between us;

she speaks the will of her heart.

II. Sadness and patience mixed in her dog's eyes,

drowning their true color.

III. Short hug, with every 'love you' never said caught between the sameness.

IV. Cold bodies and scalding tears;

old photos crumble to dust under ancient hands.

V. Sixteen years and nothing warmer than goodnight.

VI. Animated kisses under a fake sunset

after days of long, blue-eyed glances.

VII. Imagination cries for adoration

and I grab his dark-skinned hand and whisper 'run'.

VIII. Amity found in the texture of worn game controllers,

the charm of bowties,

and the steady noise of feet on pavement

one-two-three-four

one-two-three-four

IX. Another trip with Grandma,

another beautiful thing lightly forced on you.

X. 'Being single sucks, doesn't it?'

Comes the ability to politely disagree.

Hello, Sunshine.

I really love this poem because it speaks about you personally. You have true guts if you're able to write a poem about yourself and your life.
My favorite lines were:

VIII. Amity found in the texture of worn game controllers,

the charm of bowties,

and the steady noise of feet on pavement

one-two-three-four

Because of how it made me giggle about how cute it sounded in my head. Your poem brings out joy and laughter to others (in a good way) c:
Keep up the good work! I can't wait to read more of what you got x3

I love this poem completely :)
It is an evidence to the fact that love come in various forms.

I love the way you wrote this, the words are beautiful.
Looking forward to more of this kind.
Keep writing!

I really love this poem! I feel like it very accurately describes love in a lot of different ways. I'm actually more than a little blown away by this.
"V. Sixteen years and nothing warmer than goodnight." and "X. 'Being single sucks, doesn't it?'
Comes the ability to politely disagree." especially resonated with me, though I love every single line of this.
Great job! You have a real talent for poetry. I can't wait to read more.

Heyloo!
This is a good piece of work. My favorite line is

I grab his dark-skinned hand and whisper 'run'.
It reminds me greatly of a many books I've read and what I've wanted to do as well sometimes.
Another trip with Grandma,

another beautiful thing lightly forced on you.
This part makes me think of something that you originally didn't want to do but in the end it turned out to be wonderful.
I also like how you count out the footsteps, it just adds to the poem.
Over all I really enjoyed the work, I didn't see any errors in it nor anything that should be changed. :)
Keep writing,
Tasha

I thought this poem was good. The visual imagery was good, and the sentiments honest. It isn't necessarily coherent, but a lot of poetry is not. There is definite talent.
