Author's Note: I haven't really written poetry in awhile; well, honestly, haven't written anything that's not fanfiction in awhile. So I wrote this. The letters are supposed to be lowercase- it gives it more of an impact, in my view. Puncuation should still be correct and double-checked. Hope you enjoy!
i would hide behind words if they let me,
flutter behind them,
using them to hide the flush of my face,
quietly scribbling,
letting them protect me if danger ever neared.
alas, but no, to eager a foe am i,
too kind a mistress,
but a simple light user,
and one whose face hides behind those swirls.
harsh words, control i, and they laugh at me,
if only i could bend them,
share balance- if you will-,
if only mockery could fade into friendship, and said into love.
i would hide behind words if i could,
hiding behind such sturdiness like a tree,
but they won't let me.

I liked that, Sunshine.
It's something all of us wish at times. The repetition was worth it, in the end.

I don't know how far this 'lower-case' idea's helpful. Sort of defying all rules in grammar. Well, creativity's an art.
I loved the imagery you used, especially, the one at the end-"hiding behind such sturdiness like a tree".
You've a gift in poetry. Keep working on it.
