Part of this poem is inspired by a video on YouTube called "The Goddess of Everything Else". It is highly inspirative, so I do recommend you watch it!

People say I am a rolling stone,
A reckless, relentless, careless beast.
With no regrets, for I roll with the wind.
My thoughts carry me, as I am stubborn and indefatigable,
Down until the very end of the line.
I take pride in the title of a rolling stone.
I claim that I shall die with no regrets.
While others seem to suffer of mental burden and responsibility,
I slice through both like a knife against butter.
"Who cares? I am happy!"
That's what I shout from the rooftops.
But in truth, as a wise man once said,
"It is impossible to live without regrets"
Sure, this man is a video game character,
But he is the symbol of solemnity and resolution in that game.
And no one can match him in his particular wisdom.
I too, suffer with resentment.
Sometimes I regret my choice of being a rolling stone.
I can only pick one option, which is down the hill.
While others may choose to climb.
And it seems like I have taken my life for granted.
I should be perfectly happy, with people who love me, with all that I have.
Yet the Goddess of Cancer announces her bidding.
To kill, consume, multiply, and conquer. More and more.
I have not been grateful, nor helpful.
The Goddess of Everything Else then speaks to me,
Of sweet, maybe even saccharine promises.
Of dreams where not society nor I am cruel or unjust,
Of a dream, where paradise is a thing.
Then I reply "But I am a mere human.
What am I to do, when gods and governments rule over me?"
Then She replies "It may seem like you are doing my sister's bidding,
But eventually, everything is made to coexist.
All seek peace instead of war, nourishment instead of starvation.
And all try to achieve it, though their efforts may conflict.
Give it some time, and it'll fix itself."
So I tried to take my life with a little seriousness.
I slowed down my rolling, and took time to notice the little details.
About how green the grass is, about how blue the sky is.
I feel at peace, knowing that the grass and the sky remain the same.
I am grateful.
And gratefulness is true peace.

Pleasure to meet you! I'm Raven, and after finding this poem in the Green Room, I thought to give it a little review! Hope you don't mind!
To start, I love this—not only is this poem so well-written, but the underlying story is so cool and even inspirational! The way you go through this narration, living life as a boulder constantly rolling down the hill and having no regrets, paints this image of just bombing through life and hitting all the goals, no time to slow down and smell the roses so to speak—an issue that, to some degree, I think affects too many of us nowadays.
*ahem* As far as technicalities go, I don't have much to recommend at all! The only thing that really stood out to me as I read (and is going to sound contrary considering it made the "favorite parts" section too lol), was a tiny little nitpick here:
I feel like "of" was a bit of an odd word here. I get it fits the metric a bit better, but at the same time, it just sounds strange in my head, saying "to suffer of something" and not "to suffer from/with something." But of course, that is just my opinion, and I could be wrong just as well! So please take that with a grain of salt lol.
Favorite lines and parts, hmm...I would have to start with:
I like how you started by addressing the positives that can come with this very confident, straightforward way of living. It would be nice to be able to drop the energy that gets lost to mental burdens, and take back some of the time sunk into our ever-growing responsibilities...

Love this a lot!! The conclusion you reach from these regrets, from taking everything head-on, is so neat and beautiful. "Gratefulness is true peace," ah! Lovely, and man I wish more people would take lessons like this to heart, you know? You don't have to take everything lying down, but sometimes it's alright to open up, take in the world, and just appreciate things. But of course, that's just what I gleaned from this piece, I could be way off lol...
Overall, this was an awesome poem, very nicely done!

I love this. I love how at the start of the poem The narrator is perfectly at peace with themselves and happy with how they are, they go a stable pace through life, or so they let on. later in the middle of the poem they reveal that they are indeed not that happy and they find wisdom from a videogame character. Which lets be honest we all have. They decide to slow their roll as a "Rolling stone" and notice the small details of life. Which is amazing. It reminds me of Ferris Buellers day off and the famous quote "Life moves pretty fast so if you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it." Which is very much true. With this poem and quote in my mind I thought about how maybe life isn't the one moving to fast and instead you the person are moving to fast which is an interesting concept. Within the last lines "All seek peace instead of war, nourishment instead of starvation.
And all try to achieve it, though their efforts may conflict." this is very true it is in human nature to just want to survive so we all try to but the way everyone tries to can contradict, which causes conflicts. and I hope that within time it does indeed fix itself. I also like how at the end the narrator finds that True peace is when you are grateful, grateful for the things around you and that you have, or when you find something to be grateful for. Keep writing I would love to see more.
