Dull

At their table, they sit and play,

One with big ears,

Other’s hair is gray,

Can't hear what they're saying,

Though laughter gives their fun away,

They laugh a lot, but seem dull,

Their laugh has no feeling,

Which to me might explain,

One with big ears, one with hair so gray,

As I stare around humming to myself,

I realize one thing,

Studying the dull seems better,

Than being dull yourself

A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest.
