In Suffering From Summertime Sadness

They don't understand -
They won't understand
How it hurts me
As it hurts me,
Not them.

How aesthetic -
It is to suffer?

Oops,
It really hurts
But I fall in love
With this kind of feeling.

It pains ,but it is poetry.

Born to suffer-)

Hello there!
This is a sweet short little poem that conveys lots of feelings, so let me see.

They don't understand -
They won't understand
How it hurts me
As it hurts me,
Not them.

This is so true. I was in a class with boys, and they were loud and certainly annoying. I personally do not like boys my own age to be honest. But like 4revgreen said, the last part could be a bit improved, since I quite don't understand the meaning of it but we are all on a journey of writing, and yeah, that's it.
Love,

Hi! This is a nice and neat little poem; let's get into my observations

They don't understand -
They won't understand

This is so true. I remember being in a class with more boys than girls and they were all so loud and I was so overwhelmed, and when I asked them to be quiet, they just laughed because they saw it as having fun! I think you could italicise 'won't' here to make more of an impact.

How it hurts me
As it hurts me,
Not them.

I think you dont need the first 'how it hurts me' because I agree with gofast below that the repetition feels a little clunky. I also think maybe there is room to explain how and why it hurts you, in abstract terms? You're telling us, and I can imagine because i have been in this situation, but what about if a boy who is like this in class reads this. How could you exlpain what it feels like, and why it is wrong? It would help it be even stronger

How aesthetic -
It is to suffer?

I think you mean 'is it' which would make it a question. Though I am a bit confused about what aesthetic has to do with it, and how it is suffering? Since you don't explain much about the feeling, it comes across a bit performative. If you liken the experience to suffering in some way, it would land better and link the aesthetic to the boys & the class experience somehow?

Oops,
It really hurts
But I fall in love
With this kind of feeling.

What really hurts? I guess I am confused where this is heading, I thought it was about boys! So you love the feeling of boys being annoying in class and not understanding how you feel? Hmm.. i think the poem is to short to deal with such heavy emotions without expanding on them!

It pains ,but it is poetry.

(We're just
Born to suffer-)

you've put a space between the word pain and the comma, which should be on the other side of the comma. But I like the ending overall, it's hard hitting, but I just don't understand why this is such a dramatic moment, like, it certainly COULD be, but there isn't enough to make me understand! And trust me, i relate heavily to the idea in the description, but this poem feels like it could be about something else and I'm missing it, so please do explain if i am getting it wrong!

lovely short poem! it’s a feeling we (or most of us) have had in the past. some stay in the hurt because it’s what we deem as safe and comfortable.

They don't understand -
They won't understand

i love this, the narration is yummy here.

How it hurts me
As it hurts me,
Not them.

this could be worked on. i’m not really sure what you mean by this, repetition makes it clunky.

Oops,

With this kind of feeling.

yummy.

overall, this poem is very melancholic but it works! you got some real promising skills there, some things just need to be cut back or improved. things don’t necessarily have to be dramatic to land.

Thank you so much..🥀
