I'm a very delusional poet
And she's a poem
Which I never wrote.
I'm a very depressed painter
And she's a painting
Which I never painted.
I'm a laburnum but she's a lavender.
I hope you understand -

Short and sweet and so beautiful. Amazing.
The speaker almost seems to be discrediting themself. Trying to convince themself that they never could have done justice to her. Yet, they really wish they could have.
I had to think about this for a bit and what I eventually came up with was,
The person they never painted was super sad and depressed.
I honestly think the narrator saw themself in this person. Yet they never felt like they could do her justice because she was a better version of them. The version that they dreamed of being.
A laburnum is a beautiful bright yellow flower tree. But it's highly poisonous. Lavender is a beautiful flower that heals.
The narrator underneath their beauty is someone who hurts.
The person they see, the lavender, is beautiful and healing.
And maybe that person is gone now.
This was my interpretation of it. Not sure if it's right. I really loved this though.
Keep living and writing!

I love the way my first expectation was a long continuous poem but it took a while for me to feel the energy.
Majestic and strong use of words.
I love this line especially because it resonates that the person was either too good to put on paper or the paper not worthy of her beauty. I love the emotion and the satire. Overally a very good poem. Did I say good ,,,,,a great one.
Thank you so much
