Seventh Crown XX
~
The warm breeze hit the general's face and the pieces of not still used paper laid down the crystal white floor of the big hall. As it was only four thirty during the morning, his eyes was still half closed, drippy and black bags were contrasting below his tired eyes. His recent face so it was. Still not sure why he was the one taking care of everything else instead of the not being here Queen, he bent down to pick up the specific piece he needed. The big old clock over the side wall of the enormous hall made a slightly irritating for his ear sound only to remain him to wake up and do his job.
I start to think that I prefer being on war rather than staying locked in one room all day and night.
Chistan's lips parted and let the sigh go. Being the only human being in one spaceful place and being locked between four walls was not a thing he was going to start liking even after one million years.

The young girl that he knew was called Emily knocked on the wooden door of the hall. he had no third arm to open the door for her. She waited several seconds before asking if she could come in. The answer out of his mouth was indeed obvious.
"If I can somehow help you with your big list of things to do, please tell me right ahead, general." Her head was bowed down to the ground to show her respect towards the man in front of her. The young male decided to reply to her with a soft gesture. A single pat over her head. His warm palm was just too big for it but it made the girl feel protected. The young equipage thought of not doing anything to not look like a small spoiled child but she couldn't help but smile to him.
Such a bright smile.

"After all of our forces being concentrated on the war we got involved in with the North Legion, I think our borders need to stay solid and protected. We have our own empire to protect, not only we protect theirs and help them. Our envoy just came back with the information of the recent state of the north," General Kozh stopped for a moment to open the letter which contained the traumatizing news. "The condition is actually worse than the expected. What the letters says is that around fifty and two hundred of the army is already injured to the state in which the men can not fight and around ten hundred...are already dead. Even if this is something we really consider and think a solution for, there is something that we do not know could be written in this letter. They had caught two of the enemy tribe's members. This leaves too many ways to understand more about the enemy. Even if the slightest we can get. I think we need to concentrate on getting more information by sending more people to the north secretly and hide them into the cities around the war's territory. Who knows what we can find out about them. I want someone to go to the north but I will not choose, you will volunteer for it."

Ooh! This was an especially interesting chapter for someone who missed the first nine chapters (though I'm thinking about going back to read them when I have time) -- it's the first time I've been away from Cage and his team and get to see something of the war going on. A new character is introduced to me, too.
Now, I know it's not fair of me to ask questions without reading from the beginning, but I'm really wondering about the last paragraph in this chapter. Is part of speech? Is some of it the contents of the letter? If some of it is writing, maybe putting it in italics like thought would help break it up. If it's all speech, who is the General talking to? All the people who report to him? It seems as though there would have to be more than one person, because he's asking for volunteers.
Also, this is the first chapter where the grammar of the sentences actually stopped me completely from understanding what's going on. For example,
and
Are sentences I just can't understand. What are they considering and thinking of a solution for? There are men who are already dead. And the letter isn't open yet? Why not? Why isn't he getting all the information he can before making plans?
Sorry! I hope this isn't too disappointing, but it should also be reassuring, because it's the first time I felt uncomfortable not really knowing what was going on, but I've read much more than one chapter!
Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to the upcoming chapters. Keep writing!
