I want to be like an emoji.
To be able to share what I feel,
to tell others about me.
I want to let people know,
to break those walls I lay buried in.
~
Just a look on my face could tell,
what's going on in my head.
No secrets ,no lying,
no "I'm okay, just tired."
If only I were an emoji.
~
People wouldn't think of me differently,
All of them could see the real me.
I wouldn't have to hide myself behind the mask I were,
I would finally be able to share all that weights in my chest.
If only I were an emoji.
~
I wouldn't have to fake a smile and laugh,
People could understand me better, than before.
If only I were an emoji,
I could express myself plainly
and not be the fake barbie like they want me to be,
for once i want to be an actuall human being
to just let go and breathe.
If only I were an emoji.
~

You don't have to be an emoji to express how you feel that is what a pen and paper are for. Just put your feeelings on paper and pour your heart out. Thats the joy of being a writer. The pen and paper are the best friends to have......and a laptop.. haha
but in all seriousness great poem i found it very funny but at the same time it made me think. Sometimes the only way i can express my feelings is through writing because if i speak my feelings i have the fear that no one would understand or listen. Lucky for me my notebook my phone and laptop all are great ways to pour my feelings out and let that weight off my shoulders. Keep it up this was so great
Heya, DivergentDemigod! Your friend Casanova here to review!!
Anyway, this is how this works. I tell you and list the good(if any, and in my opinion), then the bad(if any, and in my opinion), then I conclude! Haha! Let's get to the review then, shall we!
Anyway, I liked this poem. It started off rather unusual but it really got better as it went on. Although I do love the lines,
"I want to be like an emoji.
To be able to share what I feel,
to tell others about me."
As a person who struggles to let people know how I /actually/ feel- these words rang true. You WANT to be able to say what you feel. What you think. What you need. So people can see the actual you. So people know exactly who/what you are and what you are about. So I have to give you props for that.
The next thing is you kept the emoji theme going- which I particularly enjoyed. So thank you or that.
One thing I noticed was lack of capitalization- but that could be intentional or not so I'm just pointing that out.
Also- the last thing I noticed was the stanza lengths. You keep a five line stanza up until the last line- then it goes to eight lines. Honestly this may disrupt the flow/pleasure from reading to some people considering the difference. It messes with my OCD(thank you so very much for doing that >.>) but that's really just personal preference.
Over all the imagery is what it is- regular poem style, nothing great but it's good for what it is.
Anyway, I hope this helped and everything.
Keep doing what you're doing and keep on keeping on!
Matthew Casanova Aaron.
Hey friend! It is AshleyDashley here for a review!
First off, love the title! It made me curious as to what you would say about emojis and them when I read your poem it was not what I expected and I liked that! You didn't write a poem on how terrible or great emojis are you used hem to express yourself in why you wish you were one. The lines:
They really begin to tell what you are talking about and don't leave the reader confused. But I think that you should change those to these so it makes more sense.
The lines:
These lines really tell how you feel about wanting to be yourself and why you wan to be an emoji. I think its great and I can relate to wanting this too. But if you are going to capitalize your begin letter for each line do so for them all.
The lines:
These lines in are good but in the second one you used the wring were. It should be wear. Other than that I think these are my favorite lines because I feel like this everyday and I can really relate to them and it hits close to home for me.
The lines:
Okay you misspelled actual and that is my fault sorry. Its actual. My bad forgive me for it. Also capitalize the first letter of each line. Otherwise these lines spoke volumes and I think that they are your strongest lines in your poem. I particularity love the barbie reference you make!
Overall extraordinary job Demi! Keep writing and I hope to read more of you amazing work in the future! Let me know when you write something new!
