Personally, I'm not a big fan of people submitting images in their works. If the work was any good, they wouldn't need to rely on a picture to describe their object. In this case, it's unfortunate that the picture associated with the poem does seem unnecessary, but you could always fix that with a bit of imagery and a removal of the picture entirely. The latter is your choice entirely.

Now, let's talk about the first short story first. It's titled "Complicated". I don't think you can call it a short story--flash fiction is more appropriate, but the labels don't really matter here. I'm not sure how you want me to judge this, because the work doesn't look like it was meant to be anything humongous and life-changing. It's a diary passage, and a very plain one at that, but it serves its main purpose. But if we are to judge this as a serious work...

-"The simplest way to state everything about my life, is that it is complicated." The comma in the middle is unnecessary. I mean, it does put a pause in the sentence, but if you wanted to shorten it you could've said "Life is simply complicated." Boring? Try, "Life is a teenager's Facebook relationship status." or "Life is a trigonometry question." or something of the sort. Have fun with it.

-"I always want to say why do you ask or I am not sure, but I never do." I think, since you already put the questions in the last one in quotation marks, you should put quotation marks between 'why do you ask?' and 'I am not sure'.

-"I say "I am doing good." or "I am completely free today." when neither is the truth. My real feeling and answer is "Complicated."" I think the last line is a little iffy. I think you could've rephrased it to sound better, ie "The way I feel, the only answer in my heart is as simple as life: 'complicated'." Not the best example, but I'm sure you get my gist.

Now, let's talk about the poem. Overall, I don't think there's anything bad about it, but I don't think there was anything notable about it, either. I think that's how I'd describe both these works; not bad, but at the same time not particularly notable, which I think is somewhat worse than being bad. I mean, you remember the worst thing you've ever read just as much as you remember the best thing you've ever read. Everything else is mostly forgotten. I don't think that's a bad thing, some things ought to be forgotten, but at the very least a poem and a work has to have a distinctive voice, a personality. A work should be a good friend, a quirky friend, the sort you can recognize immediately in a crowd but have a hard time describing to another friend. Sometimes to find that voice, you have to let your soul really, really, really get into it--and I don't just mean your general opinions and philosophy. I mean your deepest desires, your darkest secrets, your most embarrassing faults, every nook and cranny of your being. I know that these two aren't your best works, but at the same time, even the smallest drabbles are a hint at the soul of an author. Right now, I'm not seeing much, but I hope that'll improve in the future.

Well, that's it from me for now. I'll just leave this here, and hope it'll suffice for your editting needs.

Complicated is a very relatable poem and I applaud you for that. You do not add any bells or whistles but go straight to the point with it. It's more of a short statement than a short story i my opinion though. But none the less it had good grammar and was very nice to me. If you wanted to though, you could expand on it and say how you really felt or question why such formalities are even asked if no one wants the real answer.
Now onto Summer,
I have to say,
"If the boys challenge

You to a swim," These two lines shouldn't be split up into two separate stanza's if they are from the same sentence. Lines are alright, but stanza's not so much. The poem overall though is very lighthearted and childish, and poems do not need to rhyme to be poems. It might have been better if you had free versed it. But also it was a little strange seeing you go from sundae straight into summer.
It was fun to review your short story and short poem though :)

Thanks for the review. After I had published the piece I realized the formatting had not copied over correctly. Sorry for any confusion. "Summer" was just a bunch of stuff associated with summer.

So the short story, it's okay but then considering the length and subject I do not have suggestions on improving it. At least the grammar was proper. The poem, throughout the whole thing, it seems like you weren't feeling it. By that I mean, it seems you were forcing yourself to write the lines not actually making a poem. The rhythm was not thought out and the rhymes hurt the poem more than adding a good additional element. I know that you can do better so it's clear to see the effort was not there.

That's the end to this review, see you.

I wrote this poem a few summers ago and I just felt like publishing something before Review Day. Thanks for your input.
