To me they're beautiful
Although people stare
They don't understand
His sin I always wear
Dark purple marks
Gurgling and bubbling
Screaming to be free
Hurdling and struggling
Cold as ice
Yet a scortching fire
There's nothing more
Than to cut the wire
His comings and goings
Leaving me to fend alone
After checking twice
I rethink my tone
He did this to me
That ugly beast
Taking everything
To say the least
Now I'm hanging here
Gathering dust
In this dark corner
I've fulfilled his blood lust

Your comment was posted, but it wasn’t long enough to count as a review. Reviews need about four complete sentences (at least 250 characters). Try writing another review that explains your thoughts in more detail — the author will appreciate it, and you’ll earn points for it.
I'm going to attempt a comprehensive review and even then I may not be able to capture all aspects of your poem because it's very deep even though it might look short. So let me just start off by handling aspects of the poem that made it particularly excellent.
You've definitely mastered rhyme : stare, wear fire, wire dust, lust. There's also good use of consonance : gurgling, bubbling huddling, struggling comings, goings. You must know that these sound patterns - rhyme consonance - actually make your work musical, well don it just roll of tha tongue like them Kansas blues!
There are other more complex styles in your work and I particularly loved the paradox in this line seeing as it was coupled with a nice little simile :
Cold as ice
Yet a scortching fire
I couldn't help but take note of the strong use of metaphor here :
That ugly beast
So now we move into the heart of the poem. The theme is dark, in brief and I hope this interpretation is correct! - there's a girl stuck in an abusive relationship and she's fine with it because she likes the hurt, in fact, to her the injuries she sustains at his hands are "beautiful" and people just don't understand. She finally has a change of heart when his brutal treatment and neglect lead her to commit suicide and in so doing " I've fulfilled his blood lust".
Sometimes people find themselves in abusive relationships and your poem is a strong warning to them to leave before the boat sinks fatally. In such relationships the victim usually has two contrasting feelings : I love and I wanna endure it all and I hate him because he really hurt me. I think you captured these conflicting feelings accurately in two simple statements spaced within the body of the poem :
To me they're beautiful
.
.
That ugly beast
This truly makes your story of blood lust complete. People always say love and hate are opposite sides of the same coin!
All in all a beautiful work deserving of high recognition. I just have one question though, in the poem the lady dies so how come we're reading her thoughts? A bit of a paradox!?
Ha, a paradox indeed. ;P Thank you for the review.
Hi Okra! (I gave you a nickname :3) I am here to review your poem. It is pretty good. No grammatical mistakes and no capitalization mistakes. I did spot a spelling mistake. ~Hurdling and strugling~ Strugling should be struggling. I didn't see anything else.
Did she hang herself to escape him? Or did he hang her because she fulfilled his bloodlust?
This is very good. Keep writing!
~lost
She hanged herself to escape him, but he pushed her to that point.
Woah. That was deep. I love how poetic it was. The words just flowed together, perfecting each other.
I love the last stanza. Truly poetic, it ties it all up and presents it to the reader with an oversized bow.
A few things There did not appeal to me though. Last line, second stanza. 'Strugling' should have two g's.
A lot of this poem seems like it is just wasting words. There are a few key things in there that I spied, but other than that is just continued to confuse me.
I know you joined a little while ago, but if you only want to go down one space hit 'shift,' then 'enter'. It still looks fine with double spaces, but some people might not like.
Thanks for the goood read!

Thanks. I fixed it.
