Hello to any passersby! Think of this as a little archive on art that I post. I'll be updating this forum with art, character designs, photography, videos, etc!

Feel free to give me tips to improve my craft!

For those not aware, the character below is Kitty from some of my stories. I'm trying to make updated character art for many of my "main" characters. Enjoy! (Or don't bleh)

Omg noahhhh, I love this! As a fellow artist, I feel its awesome that you created this and ur sharing your works!
However, as you said, I wish to both critic and compliment your art.
First, the composition: It’s really good! You captured the feeling of the scene really well and I really like your color choices!
For your art, I like your artstyle, but I feel there are two things i’d like to critic.
First, the lineart. A monowidth (idk what the term is lol) brush is a stylistic choice that can work in some circumstances, but I feel that a more stable and smoother lineart would go a long way.
Next, the shadows. I see that you’ve tried drawing the shadows on the face, and that’s great. However, remember that the face is a three dimentional shape with complex bumps and indents in weird places (humans are weird amirite?), so that should be reflected in your shadows as well. The nose is a bit raised while your eye sockets are slightly sinked in. These create shadows, and I recommend looking at pinterest for anatomy tips!
Overall, i cant wait to see more posts on this forum! 💜🖤🩶🤍

@ToastK Hmm, I have been trying to work on anatomy recently. Thank you for the advice on shadows! Frankly, I am lost most of the time when it comes to them. I do use pinterest a lot for lineart examples, but it'd probably also be a good idea to use it for shading...

Also, for lineart do you have any particular brush I might want to use for lineart going forward (specific types, etc)? I use Krita to be specific, so maybe you know of any brushes from there that would better?

Thank you for the critique and compliments tho, I adore your artstyle bro!

Ooh, krita’s such an awesome art program! But the thing is, I use procreate on ipad haha… I do think thay the G-pen is the most mundane and versatile brush you can use for lineart, but I sometimes (most of the times) like to use a pencil with slightly less opacity for the lineart as well! (It gives that “hand drawn feel” yknow?)
I used to use krita like a couple years ago, and I definitely think it’s an awesome art program (especially since it’s free lol) to use for digital art.

Also dont forget: nobody’s perfect, but practice makes perfect. So practice.

Ooooh I used to use Krita all the time hold on let me get my cheats and tricks out...

On the tool thing (NOT a brush), there's something called Dynamic Brush Tool. It helps make lines smoother, although it makes the brush lag a bit. Sometimes helpful, sometimes not.

I never could figure out how to get those kinds of lines without using something like that, but I'm sure there's a way somewhere. I'd suggest searching online.

I like Krita, but I have other options too…I have been thinking about switching over to clip studio or even photoshop, but I’ve been using Krita since I got into digital art…it’s a hard habit to break lol, I think I will look into other lineart brushes to give my art a bit more personality though. There is some older art that I wanted to post which does use the g-pen tho, so it won’t be disappearing anytime soon lol

I switched to Clip Studio from Kiera about a year ago, and I really like it! I think they may be having a big sale rn too.

Another post on here featuring a side character from one of my stories (not posted here yet!)

Her name is Tomi and she’s a character who got nearly killed in an accident that took place in Japan. Due to this, she’s essentially a cyborg (albeit advanced), made out of mostly metal. My idea with her was that she has a skirt made out of guns that she uses for combat. I can almost TASTE the edgy 14 year old within myself.

This was the first piece where I did a bit of photography to go with the piece. I wanted to see how I could integrate one of my characters into a scene, so I tried to make an angle that allowed for her pose to look natural. I also had the light there so I could experiment with lighting!

Hello!!! I redesigned one of my older characters named Fi-So who is in my current story. I wasn't digging their new design, so I decided to do a new piece to (hopefully) suit them better. I thought the old design felt a bit too edgy and the clothing was a little nonsensical.

Ooo and critiques would totally be appreciated with both pieces if anyone has anything!
