I look out the window, the sun greets me. The wind blows, yet there is nothing to stir. The streets are bare, I wonder where the beings full of life have gone. Inside to protect themselves, screens are all that remain, all expressions glassy and out of touch. I long to again see the kind faces of those who are flesh and blood. One sunny day I will feel the sun on my skin while in an embrace. One day this Quarantine will end.

Heart to heart, our souls combine; there's never a doubt that I'm yours and you're mine. They say nothing that's worth it easily comes to be, our journey has been turbulent, but it's worth it to me. Mountains and beaches, rivers and shores, beautiful landscapes separating land between mine and yours. The fondness of heart cannot be measured, no matter the distance, it will always be treasured, For our heart is but one thriving in the spring sun.

It was a rainy Sunday Just a few weeks ago, When I found that old pack, Winter teal with 'Extra' stamped on it. Inside it sat one last piece, Beside it over fifty wrappers Folded into one another, The ink slightly ran, From all that time ago. Messages of memories and love, Your voice kind in my head. The time you realized you felt more, The time of our first kiss, All this came flooding back, The butterflies from before. After all this time Even silly gum wrappers give me a smile. The thought of those beautiful blues Drive me wild. There were good times and bad, But it's okay to forgive and not forget. No matter after all this time, The twinkle in my heart sparkles in remembrance.

Over and over, I do it again, work on another assignment, complete another craft. The time should be flying, but it's crawling instead. I can't escape the worries in my head. How long will the world shut us all in? When can we be in the arms of a friend? One day at a time, take in one minute at a time, one day we will live anew, spontaneity will reign, and I will smile amidst the chaos.
